i purchased the slight curve sa trigger and installed it today. fantastic! shorter travel smotth flat face and much better feel on the reset with firmer spring. getting the dowel through the spring and bar was the only tricky part of reasembly for me. recommend this trigger.
I purchased and installed this flat-faced SAO trigger kit in my new G3C pistol. Without Any Doubt, this is the BEST IMPROVEMENT of all mods I have completed on this pistol for my total satisfaction! The spring was a bear, but my smooth face Knipex channel-locks made it super easy. What a SPLENDID PRODUCT!
Yeah man no kidding man i took the gun apart in no time at all after studying your videos, but then when it came to the trigger spring it was nearly impossible to go in and before i got too frustrated i just put the stock one back in. Still have this trigger spring for when the factory spring gives out lol ill try this technique when i end up having to replace it

Been awhile since ive installed this. Still working great. "Feel" is very similar to my upgraded TX22 trigger, but smoother. My junk G3 was exceeding expectations at the LTC class!!!
Got your skeletonized, flat-faced trigger and stiffer spring in the mail today and got them both installed. You weren’t kidding about the challenge of getting that stiffer spring installed properly. It was almost harder than finding the safety detent ball that fell onto my kitchen floor during the trigger install. 😎 I really like the feel of the new trigger and am looking forward to getting it out to the range to see how it affects my accuracy. I just received and installed this trigger in my G3 today. I watched this video and using a vice to hold the new trigger, I was able to install the spring without any trouble. I also watched the full disassembly video and the whole process was less than an hour. Proper tools for the job is the key!

I replaced my stock trigger with the Asmund trigger. I did everything wrong. Catapulted the spring and little plastic hat across the room. Put the spring in incorrectly and then couldn't disassemble the pistol. I removed the firing pin to solve that. Found the spring and hat after carefully sweeping the floor. I watched your video carefully not assuming anything and got it all together. Hurrah! Could have saved myself a lot heartache by watching your video first as if I didn't know anything . Obviously I don't. Thanks for your help!

I just installed one of your triggers in my G3c. That trigger spring almost got the better part of me but I must say I got it and I love the new trigger. If anyone is looking to upgrade their trigger for the Taurus these triggers work as advertised.

At about the 5:25 mark of the vid, if you place the trigger shoe into a small vice and then use the hook to move the spring over the clip....life is much easier than trying to hold it in your hand! The KT trigger makes a great difference in the comfort and performance of my G3.
After purchasing the Keep Tinkering trigger and doing for my G2C, it has vastly improved the firing of the weapon. Great product and service from this business!! Get one if you have a TAURUS!!

I love my G2C and G3 and really appreciate your commitment to it. So don't take this wrong. But installing that freaking spring on my G2 was the hardest damn thing I've ever done. Sweartagod I hadda take one of my wife's Xanax to make it thru. But glad I did and probably got a order another for my G3. Go figure.
Yea, they can be tough, there is just no doubt about it. Many other guns have a trigger spring that controls the trigger forward return and a separate spring that provides the lift for the rear of the trigger bar. Since Taurus designed these trigger springs to both return the trigger and support the bar ALLLLL the way at the back, they just have to be sturdy to make the gun dependable, there just isnt a way around it.
Installed your sao staight with holes on my pt111 g2. Went pretty smooth only because of your videos. Love the look and feel, dry fire only as of yet, really impressed.
I've only had one problem with this gun and it was shortly after 100 rounds. It was a failure to eject and feed. Your video on removing the ejector helped. The thick factory shipping grease was the problem, cleaned light lube and it's work fine ever since. Thanks Tink.

I installed your trigger kit a couple of years ago and with older hands it was a real pita.. Good thing the results were worth it. Can't honestly remember if the spring was in the kit or not. If it was available I certainly would have opted for it. If it wasn't, I can't go thru that install again just for that spring. In retrospect I would have opted for the shortest pull trigger possible.. Didn't care for the design/looks at the time and bought the middle one.. Certainly better than the stock one.
Glad you found the results worth it! And as long as your gun is working ok you shouldn't worry about swapping out the trigger spring.

No kidding the trigger spring is the tricky part.lol....you had to do mine and I didn't even try to the wife's gun.i sent it to you without trying.love your products! Made a gun I couldn't shoot into one of my favorites.wife loves her Tiffany blue one....bet you know who I am now.when I get the g3 I will be sending them too.i mention you in any video I see on these pistols.

Hey Keep tinkering,I put your trigger in my G2c about a year ago and what I did to where you use your Shepherd hook to pull your spring back over the trigger bar...I used some fairly strong monofilament fishing line to hook over the little spring loop and pulled the spring into place,back over the trigger bar,then just pull your monofilament line out or clip it off,but your heavier spring is surely an upgrade over the stock one.thanks again for making a lot of us Taurus guys a lot more happier with your triggers .I also see where you now have red colored triggers,but I was hoping someday to see you make them out of either aluminum or other light weight alloy.
Dennis, glad that install method worked out for you! Those springs can be a bugger just because the tension they provide is so important for the rear trigger bar/sear interaction. It would be nice if Taurus had added a second spring back there and had the trigger spring as just something to return the trigger forward, but unfortunately that isn't how it was designed. As far as alloy triggers go, my initial prototypes were aluminum, as I too thought that would be a good material choice. Unfortunately the wall on the right side of the trigger spring pocket is simply too thin and comes out too far. What I experienced was that when you make them from aluminum that wall bends REALLY easily, and if you use harder aluminum it breaks. With nylon it simply deforms then snaps back into place, which makes nylon the best choice I have found for end users to install. Maybe if this was something I was marketing ONLY to be installed by professional gun smiths aluminum would be a possibility, although even then I have learned the skill of "gunsmiths" varies WILDLY from exceptional to complete... Well lets just say I don't know how they manage to charge for their "skills".
@@KeepTinkering Thanks for your reply on my comment about using alloy or aluminum to make your triggers,I'm satisfied with the one I got from you tremendously,and just a short story,the first trigger and spring I received from you was going pretty good till that little spring went flying in the kitchen somewhere,and I heard it land but I had to reorder the spring to finish the job lol, and to this day don't have a clue where that spring flew too lol.Anyways thanks again for the answer on my question and I will continue to watch for your new updates and parts.
I just installed this spring on the factory trigger, it's a VAST improvement if you want to properly shoot with speed out of the G series pistols.
Yea, when installed properly the stiffer spring can help quite a bit.

The sound of that spring landing across my shop floor under who knows what. May I suggest selling pre assembled sets with the bar in place for those of us who are too old, clumsy, and blind to deal with it ?
I feel like it would add too much to the cost. I know most Glock triggers come preassembled with a bar, but many of those triggers cost as much as these entire Taurus guns. On the other hand I do installs on request for $90 as long as I have time, that includes parts, labor, and return shipping. Or if you try to install it and run into any issues, I am always glad to help however I can.
@@KeepTinkering well I'm pretty sure I'm not going to find that spring. Maybe I should start with a 3 pack.
@@genereed3029 I have learned building ARs and gun play in general, to use a large zip lock bag and do tedious assembly in the bag. Much fewer springs and detents get launched that way!! Also, the dental pick "hook" is almost required... Luckily I just happened to buy a cheap set at Harbor Freight last week...

Still in love with my Keep Tinkering trigger this is an excellent video I would however suggest (from my experience) warning about the consequence of not getting that spring in properly. I did just that and believe my you are in a world of hurt if the firearm don't decock.
Yea, that trigger spring is all important, these guns just dont work if it isnt right.
As I said, the spring sent to me was short by a 1/16 and repeatedly came off the back of trigger when trying to hoo the trigger bar. Original spring was put in place several times with no problems. So yes, I would appreciate a spring of the same size as the original. Thanks

I messed around for over an hour on this a week ago, and gave up on your spring and used the stock one instead. Here's a tip, why doesn't someone SELL the trigger of choice already hung onto a new pin with the new spring and a new trigger bar, DROP-IN READY??? Idea, idea, idea...... hint, hint, hint...... I bet it would sell.

Man I still ain't even attempted to put mine in but after seeing what you said may be the hardest part that doesnt look to bad I mean its doable for sure so I may try it this weekend. Another reason ain't tried is ammo is too expensive to try out a new trigger. Hell I bought a 17rnd mag thought something was wrong with it as I put it in the gun unloaded an pulled the slide back and it locked. Havent shot a full mag in so long I honestly forgot they did that on purpose

Does installing your spring on the G3 stock trigger Improve the take up? Also, I just installed one of your triggers on my G2C. What an amazing improvement! It feels like a new gun.

Firstly, I got the standard trigger and love it. But more importantly - I issue a challenge to anyone brave/crazy enough: trim about 1/2" give or take (math) off the bottom edge of the grip and find a fitting 10rd mag with flush base plate. Basically, convert a G2C into a super concealable budget P365. Am I the only one crazy enough to want this to happen?
You could just get the 18rd promag with the spacer

Like to find a video of replacing the slide lock spring. Hard to find Taurus vids and I appreciate the insight.
If you still need it let me know and I can make something, but basically it goes in the side of the front frame box and over the top of the slide lock lever, keep in mind it is there to hold that slide lock lever downward, so it wont bounce around, until it is overcome by the follower from the empty mag pushing it back up to lock the slide.
I do believe I followed every step but I have to racket after every shot now

Does your triggers eliminate the spongy/springy break on the G2C? I find that the factory g2c trigger isn't crisp or have a clean break like a glock or a canik.
Are you talking about the DA/Restrike break? Usually the SA break is pretty clean on these guns.
What tool is that and what size. Im using a really small drill bit snd its a pain to do that method, so i wonder if that tool is slightly thinner so it has more wiggle room. He makes it looks so effortless, ive been fighting this spring for like 3 hours over the last couple days.

I would like to put one of these in my 709 slim and 740 slim but have never seen one in a slim. I have the galkoway trigger in my g2c and it will not fot the 709 even tho it fits the pt111 g2 ans g2c
I don't have a 709 Slim to test with, but according to feedback from customers who have tried it, all my PT111 G2/G2c/G3/G3c triggers do work in the 709/740 slim guns, however they may require a modification. Taurus made several variants of the 709 Slim, and probably several 740 variants as well, and at least one of them at a smaller than normal trigger guard. If you have one of these smaller trigger guard versions and install one of my triggers, you may have to sand or file down the bottom of the trigger to clear the smaller trigger guard. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey I just received your order an installed one of the guns successfully but I noticed I have a small stud bar left out of the gun. Would that be an extra piece from the original trigger or am I missing something. Gun dry fires and functions

This was definitely the most difficult part. Is it normal to have clicking in the trigger when the strike isn't set?
You mean when the gun is decocked with an SAO trigger? If so, it isnt uncommon to have a click at the beginning of the trigger travel. Some of these guns activate the DA/Restrike earlier in the forward travel than others, so those guns when decocked are basically brushing the DA/Restrike. There is nothing wrong with this, and it wont cause any issues, just a minor quirk of the tolerances ranges Taurus uses.
Do you still have to bend the trigger bar with your spring for G3?
I always adjust the trigger bars if they are not correct, regardless of which gun they are in.
Would I need to replace the trigger spring if I get the single action short stroke? I have a pt111 G2 too
My trigger springs are like G2/G2S/G2C stock trigger springs but about 20% stiffer. The springs are optional with my triggers in any of the G2 guns, but to use my triggers in a G3 or a G3c, a G2 style trigger spring is required, as the G3/G3c stock trigger spring is different.
While the trigger springs are optional in a G2/G2S/G2C, the stock trigger springs are often barely sufficient, as they not only provide the trigger return, but also provide tension to support the trigger bar, which controls how the trigger bar interacts with the rear sear for firing and reset. So stiffer trigger springs provides more positive trigger return, and can help make trigger reset more consistent and audible if you are having issues with those.

Can you tinker by adding decocker button like in Walther P99 AS..?
It would require drilling or machining the gun, then to decock the gun you would have to have a mechanism to release the striker from the primary sear, which should be caught by the DA sear, or stopped by the striker block if not. Honestly that whole process seems like it would have to be custom installed and checked. After all that was done, you have to keep in mind the DA in these guns is simply not dependable in stock form. From my testing with Federal primers, which are well known to ignite easily, the stock DA ignites about 25% of the time the first strike, and maybe another 5-10% of the time with multiple DA restrikes.

These are professionally produced by a company from my designs, they are not something I am printing at home or anything like that.
Any updates on the interchangeability of triggers between g2c and g3/g3c?
My triggers work on all the G3 and G3c guns, but make sure to buy one of my Trigger+spring kits as the stock G3 and G3c trigger springs are not compatible with my triggers. As far as cross compatibility with the stock triggers go, the G3 and G3c triggers will not work with the G2x guns, unless you modify the G2x frame. The G2x triggers can work with the G3 and G3c guns, but the stock G2x trigger safety will not work unless you also use a matching trigger bar.

@@marcomartini9239 Up until March ITARs export laws prevented shipping of triggers to other countries. That law changed, and the responsibility of who manages the export rules and what they apply to is managed by a different US government agency now, but considering all that has been happening since March, I dont think they have really resolved what is or is not allowed to be shipped outside the country as far as guns parts and accessories go, and what kind of licensing companies will need to do that.

The trigger or the procedure? The pre PT111 G2 guns, except the 709/740 Slim, are completely different and really dont share anything with the PT111 G2 and newer guns.
Will that trigger work for the taurus g3c?
Yes, just make sure to get one of my trigger+spring kits, as the stock G3 and G3c trigger springs are not compatible with my triggers.

I'm almost convinced my trigger spring doesn't fit. Side by side its a good eight of an inch longer on the straight side. Is that normal and I'm just a new or is this a thing?
Yes, that is normal. I had a lot of people request to make that straight leg longer, so on my most recent batch of trigger springs it is a bit longer.
@@KeepTinkering thank you if you can remember when you come across it disregard the email asking the same thing I've sent got it reassembled and the trigger Works beautifully unfortunately my slide release doesn't I believe depended X at the slide release spring is behind the slide release rather than under it so it's providing them attention
That could actually make for another good aftermarket part a stiffer more Harding catch release spring
