Well, in a sense this is a good idea. But, Deaf people can also do everything a hearing person can do except hear. It's like putting a blue sign on your car so you can park closer to a store and police know you're disabled. But, Deaf doesn't mean disabled. Honestly, this worries me. As a teen who has worked so hard to be able to communicate with members of the deaf community, I can't believe this could happen to my friends. I really want to believe that when my best friend tells me he is about to get in a car, I can believe he is safe, but I can't. Awful.

I’d get a sticker for my back windshield that announces my deafness / Hearing impairment just like the “baby on board” stickers as an extra precaution.
We’re scared everyday for our deaf brother driving because of these kind of stories... in the driver’s side window of his car it says “DEAF DRIVER”. The last time he was pulled over, it was a good thing that i was also in the passenger seat. My brother was trying to sign something and the officer thought that he was being aggressive that he reach for his gun, and if i was not there, we would have been dead that day.
I am feeling a sense of loss and neither I nor any of my family suffer hearing problems. I feel a sense of loss for losing a fellow human who had done nothing wrong!

The guy knew he was being chased. This story was not covered truthfully . He was driving over 100 mph AFTER police got behind him and tried to pull him over . Before that he was clocked at 70 mph. He knew they were there, and evaded them several times .
