After the recording of Layla with Eric Clapton, he asked Duane to join his band, Derek and the Dominos. Duane was already involved with the Allman Brothers Band, so he declined the invitation. Duane was sick and angry with his brother one day, so Gregory bought him an album by Taj Mahal. I think it was "The Old Folks Back Home". On it Ed Jesse Davis played slide guitar. Duane was inspired by Davis and began learning to play slide guitar with a Coricidin bottle that Greg had bought him for his cold. Johnny Sandlin, the Allman Brothers producer at the time was Duane's roommate. Johnny told me that when he began playing slide he said that it was a horrible noise he made. Johnny said that he had to go away for 30 days but when he had returned Duane had completely mastered the slide guitar. I worked for Johnny and the Bros. at Capricorn Studio.. When duane allman got the band together it was his idea to introduce Jazz into rock and Blues. his biggest influence at the time was Miles Davis. Dusne would repeatedly listen to the album Kind of Blue by Davis. miles was a huge influence on Duane Allman and for the type of band that Duane had envisioned. 😮❤❤ They are in my heart ❤ forever.
One of the great southern rock/blues bands. Their contributions were unmatched. Sea Level is another band that I truly loved.😂 They were an offshoot of the ABB.
The daughter is never mentioned in the video. It's a good history, but the still photos are misplaced throughout the video. Constantly putting Greg Allman up while discussing Duane and visa versa. It's not one mix up - it's sloppy throughout.
A repetitive resustation of known facts, common still pictures, with little insight and no music. I rate this video at 60% one notch above boring. Sorry guy, try again
Since the title is not only a lie, but makes it look like his daughter is about to talk bad about her daddy, which is ridiculous, I give it a 0 and that's too much.
I really wish youtube would get rid of misleading titles and reaction videos. I would get the premium package if i didnt have to wade through shit like this to get to the good stuff. I love ABB but this is BS
This was good until the last minute when the narrator said that "the ABB improvisational style influenced bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish". The Grateful Dead preceded the ABB by 2 years, doing long improvisational 10 minute plus jams on their 1967 debut album. (Viola Lee Blues). This slip made me question every other point he brought up after watching the whole thing!
Geraldine ("MamaA") the brothers' mother, lived to age 98, dying of natural causes in 2015 at the Daytona Beach Shores house she bought as an accountant.
As a Native Floridian, you left out the fact they actually got together in Jacksonville, FL . . . The house they lived in was in Riverside and now there is an actual sign in front of the house where they rehearsed in the very beginning . . . Jacksonville played a very important part ion them getting together . . . They were made up of actually two bands called, "The Second Coming" in which Dickey and Barry were members of and "The Hour Glass!" There is so much more that what is being told here now 1
I always admire when great musicians cite their in influences...I always told my friends BB King changed my life...The Raw Energy with B.B's Band coming from the stage was magnificent, and I realized everything I was listening to at that time was wrong...So I've spent the last 60+ years getting on the Jazz & Blues Train and Highway...But let's not forget T Bone Walker he personified Jazz with The Blues...There is a great video on RUclips of T Bone Walker from 1966 from The Greatest Jazz Concert with T Bone backed by Jazz Immortals such as Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Coleman Hawkins, Louie Bellson, etc,etc...He does 2 songs " Woman You Must Be Crazy" and I think "Stormy Monday"...It's a must watch, and listen for Jazz with Blues Aficionados...I've always wondered what Guitar Greats like Duane, and Hendrix would have been doing if they remained with us...One last thing, I had a friend who went to see The Allman's years back, and she told me that BB King was opening for them...I told her that might be a mistake. After she saw BB I asked her "What did you Think of BB?"...She replied "Nobody should follow BB!". Well, at least we we had another Jazz and Blues Convert.
This is like the cliff note version. Any fan of Duane Allman will know. Personally I think Dickey Betts should be mentioned more because Duane himself called him the better guitarist and really enjoyed how Dickey pushed him on stage. As much as I love Duane's playing, I bet any fan of the Allman Brothers what degree that the combination of Duane and Dickey just took it to a whole new level. Getting tired of this misspelling of Dwayne and Dickie. 😅
Exactly Always the Allman Brothers Band. Gregg did have the Gregg Allman Band in the '80's when Dickey Betts left. So they need to Learn ABB history before they type anything right? ✌️❤️🌼@@jellycream1964

Thank you so much for sharing that.❤
Didn't Jamoe have something to do with the jazz influence?

The title is so far from what they talk about i was intrested in buying the book giving me a preview of it would have helped ouy
I like listening to anything about abb but what's up with the title. Wasn't a damn thing about anything his daughter said.
Why the repeating?
@@BobbieLGray repeating what?
Welcome to you tube and social media today. It's all fabricated bullshit. Trust no one, believe nothing and save your money 💯
It's all bullshit. Nothing is true anymore. That tit🎉was just a way to get you to watch their bullshit and that's all it is nowadays. Total bullshit
Where are the daughter's remarks?
There isn't any. That title was just a ploy to get your attention and have you watch this bullshit video
SKY DOG LIVES FOREVER. REMEMBER DUANE ALLMAN 🎸🔥✔️✌️
This video has too much repetitive and redundant content.

What does this have to do with the Daughter ? If anything

I thought this was about Duane. Most pics are Gregg
This has to much information I don't need to know
DUANE ALLMAN ❤INFINITE BLESSINGS 🙌 🙏
The Allmands kinda birthed the entire southern rock movement, such as Molly Hatchet, Outlaws, even Skynrd...

The headline is a lie. Nothing from his daughter.
