The reporter asking those questions did happen, and the other comments below are true about Lauda being harassed by that same reporter after he had stopped the press conference. There is a great interview with Lauda done by Graham Bensinger, a clip of this interview is here on you tube where Lauda says he told that reporter if he didn't stop he would kick him in the balls as hard as he could. Lauda said the film was 80% accurate to life, but he understood they needed to use some hollywood license to better show the mentality of two drivers who were fierce competitors but had the utmost respect and admiration for each other. As Lauda says at the end of the film. "In formula one there were a few men I liked, even fewer I respected. Hunt remains the only person I envy."
