Thanks as always, Peter, for your tips. I turn off the focus confirmation beep because I also find it annoying, but I also turn off the touch-to-focus-and-shoot feature. I've accidentally touched the LCD screen and taken pictures I had no intention of taking. Besides, I just don't see that touch feature as being very useful, BUT being able to save a specific Myset to the mode dial is a great TIP, especially for quickly changing to and from B&W. I was also unaware of it, but learning about it made my day. I just have to slow down your video to understand how to set it up.
Peter thanks so much for all your videos. I have used the EM-5 mk 1 and 2 and then gave them to my nephew a budding photographer. Now I only use the PenF, but I am looking for second body. I will either wait for the EM5 mk III or get an EM10 mk II or III. But first watch your video comparing them. Thanks again

I would recommend the em5 mark iii over the em10 mark ii for your small detailed product photography, since it has a 20 MP sensor and the ability to focus stack in camera. i use my 10ii like it has film in... rarely use more than 1 shot at a time... its a great little camera with settings i will never dream of using...great vid i will try the screen focus pad, i didnt know it had this...
Can you do a macro video on your Olympus EM10 MK II? Show the 60mm macro lens and how it performs taking macro photos of different items. That would be a great video.

There is currently a lack of information about those combinations.

My favorite M4/3 photography videos are yours, Mr Sulanto's, and Mr Wong's videos. I use EM10ii for my enthusiast photos (nature and wildlife) and my professional photography (commercial, archtitectural, landscape, events and parties). I find the EM10ii easily up to professional results for all slower paced subjects. For moving subjects in low light it's challenged, but gets it done acceptably. I don't shoot very much action in low light. So it's adsquate there. If I shot more action in low light type subjects, I'd get an EM5iii. I love my EM10ii. My favorite lenses are Pan 12-32, Pan 35-100 3.5-5.6, Oly 17mm F1.8, Pan 20mm F1.7mm, Oly 25mm F1.8, and Sigma 30mm F1.4. I rarely use my Oly 12 F2 or 45mm F1.8, but they're great when I need them. I'd like to see cross platform videos. Pan lenses on Oly bodies, especially EM10ii body. I'm sure there are many other M4/3 users who also like to see reviews of Pan lenses on Oly cameras, and vice versa. I'd especially like to see a video about Pan Leica 25mm Mark 2 on an Olympus camera (ideally EM10ii and EM5iii). I also suggest you try a Pan 12-32 on EM10ii or EM10iii and EM5iii. I think you'll like it. I do. Thank you so much for your videos. I think your English is beautiful, except for how you pronounce stabilizer causes me pain, but I'm still a loyal fan!
Peter, I bought an EM10 mark ii with a kit lens and a 60mm macro lens. I opened it up tonight and start taking pictures of cufflinks. The pictures are fantastic! The 60mm macro is such a great lens and the camera handles very well - so light and intuitive. One thing I noticed though - I can hear my camera make sounds like a machine is operating inside the body. Is that normal? I have never heard such a thing. The camera seems to operate fine but it makes a processing sound and it also sounds like wind is blowing inside my camera, sort of like a howling wind sound. It isnt loud but you can hear it. Just sounds like a machine is operating inside my camera body? Is your OMD EM10 Mark ii silent? Because mine sure isnt.
I just googled my question and I read that it IS NORMAL that the EM10 camera models make a slight hissing or windy sound during operation. The person stated it was the IBIS system working. I will wait for your response Peter because I know you are very knowledgeable about Olympus. I still love the camera, I just was concerned about the noise during operation. As I saido, the 60mm macro lens is so good. I originally bought the OMD em10 mark iii, but exchanged it for the mark ii. I have watched so many of your videos and enjoyed them very much, so I decided to buy an Olympus myself.

AF Targetting Pad - hmm, really good for using your nose to move the focus point. Or why is the focus point in the wrong place after you have wiped the screen on your jersey?
If you wipe the screen when the camera is turned off it will be ok. If it is in the wrong place, just move it. AF targeting pad is actually quite handy. Of course t is more convenient if the EVF was on the side like range finder style.

Hi Peter, first of all many thanks on your tips and trips for the E-M10 Mark II. In the video you mentioned you like aviation. Can you please share your experience on using the E-M10 Mark II for aviation photography? I have an E-M10 Mark II which I use in combination with the Olympus 100-400mm lens at this moment. Before that I used the E-M10 Mark II in combination with the old 70-300mm FT lens using a FT to MFT adapter. Since the launce of the 100-400mm lens last year September, I must say I like this combo very much. I also mounted the Olympus ECG-3 grip to improve the rather small camera grip and getting better grip stability. What is your experience with the above mentioned combo e.g. E-M10 Mark II withECG-3 grip and Olympus 100-400mm lens? Do you also have some tips and tricks on this combination of camera and lens regarding aviation photography (I think most of the settings etc. might be largely the same as for sports)? I have not really used it for aviation photography. Of course you can use it for that. Sometimes you need a bit longer lenses for aviation photograpjhy and I have found the E-M10 cameras to be a bit too small for those longer lenses. Other than that no problem.
Hi Peter - I am almost done with my search for a new camera. The OMD em10 M2 and 3 are what I have finalized. One crucial question I had is if the higher focus point count and the true pic 8 processor of m3 make a significant difference when compared to m2's performance. The M2 is 150 cheaper with 2 lens. I am usually a stills hobbyist with occasional family videos. Your thoughts will be help me in taking a decision.. Thanks a ton!
It all depends what you like to make images of? E-M10 MKII is better for photography in general. E-M10 MKIII has some features crippled so that you cannot adjust shutter speed or aperture.

It is still a very good camera. Of course new is usually better, but then you might get very good deal on the E-M10 MKII. I would choose the E-M10 MKIII over E-10 MKIII for photography.
Thanks so much for the excellent tips, Peter. I have one question. Today, I did a video recording of an interview using my E-M10 Mk II. I used my iPhone with an external Boya lavalier mic to get a better audio recording. But when I put both the video and audio files into my iMovie, I realised they don't sync! The video seems to be playing out faster than the audio recording. May I know what is your advice and how can I set the camera or the iPhone to be in sync with each other?
Sounds odd. There must be some issues with the recording speed/fps. I always use clapping sound in the beginning of the recording. Lining up the peak in the waveform will sync the audio.

Hello Peter..Need some help with my Olympus em 10 MKII..Today,I noticed that my camera is not completely quiet.It makes a noticable sound - a very soft hiss, but nevertheless, a hiss.This happens from the moment I turn on the camera and hear that noise while the camera is on..I turned off image stabilization and image stabilizer and the noise persists. What should I do? Is it normal? Thank you!

I don't agree that LCD use less power then EVF because the background lights needs bigger part of the power on any LCD . If you have bigger screen you need more power to illuminate it. Different between number of Megapixell is not that importnant as dimensions of the screen. LCD TV has less resolution then LCD on any camera but use more power because of dimensions and background light. The best way to save a batery is turn of autofocus and use focus peaking. I shot between 900 and 1000 photos with focus peaking without autofocus.
@@ForsgardPeter Hello Peter, I have the OMD 10 MK 2 Limited edition ( braun version ). When i follow your tip, i got somewhere a bug in the menu, it reset all my setting into factory-settings and locked myset in a strange way. To go to my own settings, i have reset first myset in menu A, before i can go futher for saving one of my own settings. Without reset myset in menu A, the camera can't save or change a setting. I did never use myset anyway, but i want to try your tip because i like the short cut of monotone on the ART dail. It's takes me a long time, to find out to get back and save my own settings into the camera, again. I am very happy with my camera, but i am going never use myset anymore, i don't trust that anymore. Just what I bought and so far the biggest minus is that it does not focus on more than one point, it only focuses on one point and it seems a big minus at least for me which until now I have used DSLR
in the sense that I also have a Nikon DSLR and focus on 4-5 or more focus points at the same time, at Olympus I saw that it only chooses a single point out of the 81 focus points. Maybe I'm wrong and I haven't found the setting yet to focus on several points at the same time

Most likely it is the IBIS (Image Stabilizer) that makes the noise. So no worries.

Between em10ii and canon Eos m200 which one would you guys suggest? Tqsm.
Cannot really say about EOS200. I would go with mirrorless. Mirror technology is old and not really useful anymore.

You just choose the Silent Shooting mode from the Super Control Panel. It is the one with the heart.

Hello Peter..Need some help with my Olympus em 10 MKII..Today,I noticed that my camera is not completely quiet.It makes a noticable sound - a very soft hiss, but nevertheless, a hiss.This happens from the moment I turn on the camera and hear that noise while the camera is on..I turned off image stabilization and image stabilizer and the noise persists. What should I do? Is it normal? Thank you!
It is most likely the IBIS.

I don't agree that LCD use less power then EVF because the background lights needs bigger part of the power on any LCD . If you have bigger screen you need more power to illuminate it. Different between number of Megapixell is not that importnant as dimensions of the screen. LCD TV has less resolution then LCD on any camera but use more power because of dimensions and background light.
The best way to save a batery is turn of autofocus and use focus peaking. I shot between 900 and 1000 photos with focus peaking without autofocus.
Well the power consumption is info that I got, but need to triple check that. Good advice on saving battery life, thanks.

It all depends on what you like shoot.
All in one it means ALL, I mean lens that I can use in portrait, landscape, zoom, but it's pro not the kit lens

@@ForsgardPeter Hello Peter, I have the OMD 10 MK 2 Limited edition ( braun version ).
When i follow your tip, i got somewhere a bug in the menu, it reset all my setting into factory-settings and locked myset in a strange way. To go to my own settings, i have reset first myset in menu A, before i can go futher for saving one of my own settings. Without reset myset in menu A, the camera can't save or change a setting.
I did never use myset anyway, but i want to try your tip because i like the short cut of monotone on the ART dail. It's takes me a long time, to find out to get back and save my own settings into the camera, again. I am very happy with my camera, but i am going never use myset anymore, i don't trust that anymore.

Just what I bought and so far the biggest minus is that it does not focus on more than one point, it only focuses on one point and it seems a big minus at least for me which until now I have used DSLR
What do you mean when you say it focuses only on one point?
in the sense that I also have a Nikon DSLR and focus on 4-5 or more focus points at the same time, at Olympus I saw that it only chooses a single point out of the 81 focus points. Maybe I'm wrong and I haven't found the setting yet to focus on several points at the same time
The camera focuses on one point and then the aperture will define how much there is depth of field.
yes, but from my point of view this is a minus, otherwise only pluses and the stabilization is excellent
