      dude, do you understand their job? They deal with a lot of people, a lot of them out of their mind. The 911 team has to get a lot of information out the caller to dispatch the right resources. The 911 team has to ensure the responders aren't entering a dangerous situation. They need to distinguish serious situations from trivial situations. The operators have to distinguish between real emergencies and fraudulent callers. And you know how they do this? They have a script. They are required to follow the script.

    • @lovelylyrics1687

      @@AndyCutright it only takes a moment to assure that caller and build trust with them so they calm down and try to convey what they're saying. I've heard operators do it. “Her eyes were bulging” Amie’s roommate says, when he & police officers saw her body lying on the ground. That proves that Garrett Pursehouse murdered Amie by choking her before throwing her over the balcony. His plan to kill her with a fatal shot of nicotine was interrupted when he heard her roommate yell up the stairs, so he chokes her to almost death, a point of no return, with bulging eyes, then throws her off the balcony and takes off. May Garrett Pursehouse be punished to the full extent of the law for his premeditated murder of Amie Harwick. 🙏 Thank you Michael for your honest testimony as the closest observer to this horrific, brutal murder. Rest In Peace Amie. May your spirit soar freely.🕊

      Too bad he was completely useless as a roommate who couldnt be bothered to do f*ck all to help save her life.
      He knew she was having problems with a psycho stalker Ex,
      he literally heard glass in the house shattering late at night due to crazy pants breaking the French doors to gain access to the home. Instead of doing anything to inspect, or even text her to make sure noise was her, the idiot decides to roll over and go back to sleep without even checking.
      THEN, after she comes home, he hears her screaming and struggling upstairs and is too much of a coward to do anything to help her.
      Doesn't even know where his own damn phone is, so he has to jump the fence and run next door for help
      (which I still don't believe, I think upon hearing her scream and all the commotion that he ran away outside in order to save his own skin)

    Slight inconsistencies are expected when someone describes that event while in a state of shock, panic, and high adrenaline VS when they have had time to slightly process what just happened. This can be a few hour difference etc. You’re in a different state of mind during and moments after an event like this. Especially if your on high alert because u don’t know who or where the attacker could be. You heard the attack you didn’t see the threat so it could be anyone anywhere. this is just common sense. If everyone would put themselves in the other persons shoes and imagine their state of mind during this event, they would understand how communication skills can be a bit all over the place.
    Also, I have a similar personality to this guy and and in my opinion he did wayyyyy better than I would. Finding the right response when being heavily questioned as your reliving a traumatic event in front of a full courtroom would be nearly impossible in my opinion. I think his testimony will get Pursehouse LIFE in jail though.

    The 911 operators should be retrained to first ask “is there anyone injured”? Then ask for a address and then the name of the caller and other questions. first send the them police and ambulance to aid the injured if possible to help them.

    • @Ilene-pz8fp
      @Ilene-pz8fp 8 месяцев назад +5

    • @Cazza1206

      Having done a similar job but for the ambulance service, they are just following a protocol/script. This could have been their 100th call of the night and certainly not the first of a woman being attacked and a caller being a dick due to the fear/stress.
      I always used to reiterate help was on its way and staying on the phone and answering questions would not delay the help.

    People are so inconsiderate and unreasonable and unrealistic… you expect someone to risk their life / die for a roommate? Have you all not heard of the Whittier kidnapping where the boyfriend ran away from his girlfriend and the attacker and left to get help? It’s called fight or flight and most of the time you don’t consciously make a choice. I always wondered why some people didn’t scream in the face of being attacked until it happened to me and I froze in completely fear…Yes he’s a man but it sounds like he had an injury that made him unable to fight for his life. Have some compassion for the guy and educate yourselves about fight, flight and freeze mode.

    The prosecutor is HORRIBLE, the way he said "how much time had passed since you left Amy at the house...", Because asking how long since he left the house just wasn't enough😒. His wording seemed almost like an attack on the witness and not in a good way. I feel bad for anyone that has their loved ones case in this prosecutors hand and the evidence isn't as solid as this case because I can see the jury having a bad taste in their mouth. The jury would definitely have bias with a douche like that. Yet another example of how the system doesn't work. Whats the point in having dispatchers to help with dire situations if they show zero compassion and the prosecutor doesn't even know how re-word his questions without the help of the judge. It's seriously awful to see.

It would be against all common sense to go into an unsure situation and risk more violence to himself or others.
