YES! Some people insist in talking about only physical talent. Like being a qb involves only being tall, strong, fast and throwing a hard ball. Is aaron rodgers the most accurate qb ever? Maybe, idk if Dan Marino was more. But that is not the point. Several past and current nfl qbs are more than accurate enough. Brady is mentally far ahead everybody else. Nobody talk about his ability to read defenses! Was peyton physically talented like others? No but mentally he was sensational. Brady studies hard and reads defenses faster and better than everyone else and he is more than accurate enough to make all the throws that he wants too. He rarely needs to get out of the pocket and throw on the run. And of course is incredibly clutch, the pressure doesn't affect him. Best example that I can remember comparing the two was in the 2014 season. NFC championship the packers D intercepted Wilson 4 times, and the packers still lost the game because AR was holding the ball and couldn't find anyone open. One game later Brady was firing on his first read almost every play against the same Seahawks D. If the pats D intecept any QB 4 times brady will put 50 on them.

I have seen Brady's combine and he is slow as molasses in January just like he is now, in fact I could eat a sandwich and drink a coffee before he finished the 40 yard dash! This CLOWN is suppose to be the hero of the NFL? Just goes to show how much the NFL has digressed with their QB's in skirts and receivers running free all over the field. There is a reason why he was the 199th pick and it wasn't because he had athleticism.

  • @NicardoNeil

Aaron Rodgers does NOT check every box. He is not the leader Brady is because you don't hear any of the kind of stories coming out of Foxboro about Brady that you hear about Rodgers from current and former teammates. He's also not in Brady's class from a clutch under pressure perspective. One example: NFC Championship against the Seahawks in Seattle. Russell Wilson was so bad in that game for 3.5 quarters, there's no way Brady loses that game. He's not as durable/available as Brady, despite his athleticism. He's missed multiple games due to season ending injuries. Brady has missed one season due to a fluke injury. Finally, Rodgers is not, in my opinion based on observation, as good pre- and post-snap as Brady. This is evident by how often Rodgers is under pressure quickly after the snap and has to run around to make plays. While that LOOKS spectacular and makes highlight reels, he wouldn't have to do that so much if he was diagnosing the plays properly pre-snap, making the right protection calls and making the right reads post-snap. So no, he does not check all boxes.

    • @servel2
      @servel2 5 лет назад +1

He checks all the boxes phisically but Tom Brady holds all the intangibles, including being so competitive that he doesn't mind taking less money, or not padding his record.
He will forever have a chip in his shoulder because he was doubted from the moment he started playing football.

Something that Brady can do that Rodgers can't is beat good teams.
      Against teams with
      8+ wins
      Brady: 128-56 (0.696)
      Rodgers: 51-51-1 (0.500)
      10+ wins
      Brady: 75-35 (0.682)
      Rodgers: 32-36 (0.471)
      12+ wins
      Brady: 30-17 (0.638)
      Rodgers: 9-17 (0.346)
They both feast on bad teams but Rodgers ONLY dominates bad teams (And Brady is a little better at that too at 0.885 to Rodgers 0.817) while Brady is still dominant against the best the league can offer.

When Doug said Rodgers checks "ALL" the boxes, he's missing a box or two. For QBs there is the "brain" box. Brady has the greatest QB brain of all time. Brady reads and reacts to a defense better and faster than anyone ever. There is also the "clutch" box. Brady is the most clutch QB of all time. There is also the "competitor" box. Brady is the greatest QB competitor of all time.
When it comes to playing QB, "ALL" the boxes means a LOT more than foot speed and running ability. And as far as the kind of ball Brady throws, I'd say Brady is the best at the "Accuracy Into Tight Windows" box.

The interception that was nulled by the offline call was Brady seeing the offline knowing it was going to be called, and figuring he had a free shot. What I find interesting when you talk about the No Name players that the Patriots have on their roster is this. You can take any of the top 100 college football teams in the US. It doesn't matter Michigan State or Michigan Washington State or Washington Etc.. if a player earns a starting spot and can hold that starting spot for 3 to 4 years and it doesn't matter the spot it could be quarterback it could be a lineman it could be a cornerback it doesn't matter the position. If that athlete can keep that starting spot for 3 to 4 years. They are almost at the professional level. And just because the general population hasn't heard of these players I guarantee the scouts for these NFL teams have because that's what they're getting paid to do Scout the best talent out there and to see if they'll fit within the budget and within the system of whatever NFL team that they're trying to apply for.

WAY more physically gifted than Rodgers!
Rodgers is a WAY better QB but you have to start getting into non-physical gifts.

One thing that I would say is that Rodgers would see that.
However unlike Brady where all they can say is that if Ford didn't commit that penalty (That nobody questions WAS a penalty) Rodgers gets praised for it.
How many times have you heard someone nob slob over him being good at drawing guys off sides or catching the D in a substitution to get a free play on a 12 men penalty?
When he throws a pick NOBODY says oh man Rodgers really got saved by the defense messing up, they all just say he took a chance since he knew anything bad wouldn't stand up with the penalty.

One of the things that most amazes me about Tom is when he sees defensive players slack off while getting out of the field and he'll skip the huddle and make the opposing team get a penalty.
Dude is a straight football genius, once he retires teams are going to be lining up throwing money trying to persuade him to be an NFL coach.

Aaron Rodgers and Brady are different I agree. Brady wins. Like he said he isn’t playing for stats he’s playing wins. At the end of the day if your throwing 400 yards a game 3 touchdowns no interceptions and don’t win it doesn’t matter.

Checking every box does not make. Aaron isn't the best QB, quarterback play isn't about throwing the flashy pass or how strong one's arm is. Tom Brady is about play calling, it's about getting your team down the field to win games. Gimme a guy who thinks the game and make the necessary throws vs someone, not just Rodgers but anyone who has a strong arm and athletic

He’s playing chess when the rest of the nfl is playing chess. The patriots make the least amount of mistakes statistically than the rest of the nfl.

Brady beats you with his brain, not his arm. Nobody reads a defense as well as he does. He puts the ball where he wants it about as well as the average NFL quarterback; the difference is his ability to identify exactly the right place, almost every time, in a matter of seconds, while standing in the middle of mayhem.

Rodgers has become a whiny little bitch. He sits alone on the sidelines and NEVER stops complaining about anything and everything. I am actually a fan of the Packers. He has become the new Jay Cutler of the NFL. What a shame. P.S. He has won 1 Super Bowl. 1. That's not greatness. That's a mediocre career for a good quarterback. It's actually quite lame.

I'm convinced when ppl talk about Tom Brady they either have never watched him in his physical prime or just flat out fly. Literally the only box Brady doesn't check off his mobility pass the LOS. Tom has elite pocket movement to say Tom never had one of the strongest arms in the game is LUDICROUS you don't survive in Foxborough without a strong arm you don't get the best out of Moss without a cannon.

It's not a great arm that makes the best QB, it's what's in your heart, and whats between your ears.
In SB 51 Tom came back from 28-3 late in the game. He never gave up. He never lost faith. You could see him rallying his team on the sidelines. His mother had cancer, he was under pressure of a bogus claim that he was a cheater, and he was 39 years old. Yet he came back, with an inferior receiving corp to win in overtime. I don't think anything will ever equal that task.
