    My roommates in college partied a lot and I always locked my door and slept with headphones on. And anyone who doesn't think that a 20 year old kid can sleep until noon on a Sunday morning...is significantly out of touch with early 20 somethings.

      But isn’t it dangerous to encourage such behaviour? To sleep with head phones? What if there is fire in the house any emergency situation and children are so detached from what’s going on. I actually feel terrible for these roommates. I find it very plausible that they slept through it, got up, and made it out of the house without seeing the victims. When you are a roommate, you don't wake up and check on everyone in the house. If the victims were killed in their bedrooms (maybe while they were sleeping/passed out), why would a roommate have seen them?
    It reminds me a little of the Amanda Knox case in that she came home, took a shower, all the while her roommate was dead in another room in the apartment. She said she saw a little blood in the bathroom but just thought it was menstrual blood (what woman hasn't gotten some on the bathroom floor at some point?). The roommates may have seen things that were a little out of the ordinary, and their testimony may be important in cracking the case, but people don't immediately think - my roommates must have been murdered in the other room.

      I do believe the roommates said they always lock their bedroom doors. So if they had not locked the door then there would have been two more dead bodies. I agree with what you said they were each in their room asleep when killed and those other two just slept through it. They had been out on the town drinking and did not get back until after 2 am you going to sleep well are you not? Also was said that knew the girl had some guy stalking her? But that could all be here say.
      It's just horrible what has happened it really is, here is hoping the monster is caught asap and these young kids can go back to their studies. It will never be the same again this place people will not feel safe even if and when they catch this monster.

    • @Rhov9
      @Rhov9 Год назад +113

      @@22ergiewhy is that TMI? Women have monthly periods where they bleed. Makes sense that it can get on the floor once in a while. Men sometimes pee on the floor by accident, is that TMI? • @eh1702
    @eh1702 Год назад +437

    When our apartment was burgled, nobody touched my room because 1. It was always locked. 2. The door was parallel with the stairs. People often thought it was a door to a coat cupboard or broom cupboard. I also remember more than once, in more than one dorm or apartment, knocking on other people’s doors to ask them to turn the sound down at 4am and they’d make a “wait!” sign, turn the sound down and come back to the door and say in all innocence, “sorry, I couldn’t hear you.” I routinely used earplugs by the end of it. Sometimes I had good roommates who became long term friends, sometimes I barely knew their names or faces. People lead separate lives a lot of the time.

      I have a roommate who sleeps so heavy that you can pound on his door and yell his name super loud and he won’t wake up. Everyone is sus of the roommates who were home, but I honestly think they’re lucky to be alive. I could be proven wrong, but I don’t think they had anything to do with it. They’re likely the two other girls who are in the photo with the four who were murdered, which was posted earlier on the day they died. It would be weird if they all took a happy roommates photo and then one or both of the other girls went knife crazy later that same night.

Even when I was in college 30 years ago college kids drank and often didn't get up until close to noon on a weekend. I once slept through a fight near my dorm room door because I worked until 1 AM & drank some Nyquil wen I got back & was knocked out. Also, a lot of people sleep with headphones on & even most newer earbuds come with noise cancelation. Several years ago, my neighbor’s daughter shared an off-campus townhouse with three of her friends. She had the ground-floor bedroom, while the other three roommates had the three upstairs bedrooms. While they all were out one evening, the townhouse was entered by an intruder who had climbed a tree and crawled through an open second-story window. Laptops and other electronics were stolen. Fast forward about four months…..while my neighbor’s daughter and another roommate were asleep in their respective bedrooms, the townhouse was entered yet again through the same window, left open by one of the two roommates who were on the town that night. This time, he encountered the girl asleep in the upstairs bedroom. While brutally raping the young woman, he bragged about having robbed the place on an earlier ‘visit’, and decided this visit he’d toss in an extra “you should have known to secure your home” lesson. She didn’t scream out to my neighbor’s daughter, as she had a knife to her throat and was scared that he’d finish with her and rape her friend downstairs. He robbed them again, and escaped the same way he entered. My neighbor’s daughter had slept through the entire incident because she’d fallen asleep wearing her ear buds. The roommate was bruised, bloody, beaten, missing a tooth. She spent two days hospitalized as her parents drove hundreds of miles to be with her, pack up her belongings, and return home. She stepped away from college for a full year as she went through physical healing and support therapy. She finished her final year at a college near her hometown and transferred those credits to the university she’d been attending at the time of the incident, as she couldn’t emotionally step foot in that community without having panic attacks. The sad thing about this whole incident is that the roommate who had left the window open tried to blame the other girls for not checking that all doors and windows (including the one she’d left open in her private bedroom) were closed and locked prior to going to bed.

    I have worked extensively in the legal field and taken private investigation courses. This whole thing doesn't add up and getting fishier by the day. Why did the killer ignore the other 2 girls in the house and let them live if they were home during this time? Why pick out only these 4 people? How could the other 2 girls not hear 4 people being stabbed to death in the middle of the night? Why did they wait until almost 12 noon to report the crime when it happened between 3-4 in the morning? Were any of the girls sexually assaulted during this attack? Hopefully, one of the 4 murdered tried to fight off the attacker and may have the killer's DNA underneath their fingernails, etc. I think those 2 other roommates know who did this crime and must have let them in. As sick as it sounds, they may have sat on reporting the attack allowing enough time for the victims to bleed out and die. I used to live in Idaho, and I witnessed in a hotel I was staying at where a group of people attacked a guy in a room breaking out the window and giving him a concussion in a coordinated attack. I saw them running down the walkway after it happened when I looked outside hearing the glass break. Due to witnessing that, I'm beginning to believe this is an orchestrated attack too due to my personal experience.

      Another thing that was said was the bodies were found on the 2nd and 3rd floors in their beds. That the killer went past the two roommates' rooms... most likely because the doors were locked and he/she was in a hurry. In a house with so many people maybe even if you hear a 'scream'? or some scuffling it might just be nothing or you make an excuse for it in your mind. I am a Moscow resident. I have a strong suspicion that the strangeness surrounding this case is a result of the University working with the city to cover this up to preserve their image. They tried to hide the reality about the brutality of the scene initially, with the whole thing about the police being notified about an ‘unconscious’ person.
    If the press hadn’t been on the ball with their inquiries, there’d be even less information than there is now. Fry shut down the questions quick at the press conference, and Scott Green came off like a sociopath putting on a thinly veiled act. The real case here isn’t the murders, it’s what is going on behind the scenes with the city and university.

    I get that this is an ongoing investigation and sometimes the police have to keep things quiet to not compromise the investigation, but they are certainly playing things extremely close to the chest to the point that their lack of sharing information is scaring people in the community. When you don't have any information about the murder other than 4 people are dead and the 2 people who escaped don't seem to be suspects and the police are saying they don't have a suspect, if I lived in the area my next question is how am I supposed to trust the police when they say there is no current active threat to the community? If they believe they know who the suspect is that is completely different because they might have a clue as to the potential motive. If they suspected it was a murder-suicide situation or that one of the other two roommates were responsible that is also another thing. I just can't figure out why the police seem so confident that there is no threat, and my first thought is are they just saying that because they don't want mass hysteria and not because they have any actual evidence that there is no threat? My guess is at this point that their evidence that it wasn't a murder-suicide situation is pretty solid. My guess is that although we are confused why the other two roommates didn't call the police sooner they must have given a satisfactory answer to that question to the police. Maybe they knew the crime was happening and were too busy fleeing for their lives to stop and call the police. Maybe as young and relatively naïve students they were threatened by the perpetrator that if they called the police he would kill their families, so they ran and didn't dare call the police because they believed the threat. Whatever the explanation is, I'm sure the police aren't so stupid that they haven't thought about the fact that it is weird that it took so long for them to be called, so I'm sure if they have really eliminated them as suspects they have solid reasons for doing so. Or they haven't eliminated them as suspects but are pretending they have in the hopes that they'll slip up and lead them to more evidence.

They lie, they are indifferent to the community's fears and some are just plain incompetent. Sorry. I know that there are some good LEO'S out there...but I am a Texan and I've seen too much police incompetence.

    • @hollybigelow5337
      @hollybigelow5337 Год назад

      @@janetritchie7499 I will agree there is something very off in that particular case. I will also say that while I have known MANY good LEO's I have also encountered many bad ones. Some of them are just corrupt and in it for themselves. Some are drunk on their power. Some are just too quick to blindly follow orders even though those orders are at least questionable if not outright illegal. However, the thing that really doesn't make sense to me about the Uvalde situation is that I am convinced there was a massive failure at the top. If you tell me that one officer showed up to an active school shooting and that he failed to act I can easily blame that on cowardice and lack of training and an indifference to suffering. If you tell me two officers did that I can believe it. But the story says there were 376 officers on site. I have always been told that in general 10% of people will do the right thing no matter what and 10% will do the wrong thing if they think they can get away with it, and the other 80% tend to follow the lead of everyone around them. If those officers were randomly selected from the population that means I would still expect around 38 officers to do the right thing no matter what their superiors were telling them and no matter what their fellow officers were doing. So I have to ask myself, why didn't those 38 officers do anything? I can go along with the idea that 38 of those officers were probably actively trying to get out of doing the right thing, and I can even go along with the other 80% standing by simply because that is what everyone else was doing and they weren't personally willing to be the hero that led the way. But the way I see it is there are only two explanations I can think of for those 38 good officers to not go in. Either the police officers on the scene weren't randomly selected from the population and were purposely selected for their cowardice and indifference, or those 38-ish officers had reason to believe that the actions they were taking that day were genuinely the right decisions. Personally, I lean towards the second explanation. I have heard many reports that the police were told that day that the shooter was holed up in an EMPTY classroom and that his plan was to take out as many officers as possible from his heavily fortified position in the school. Imagine for a minute that you believe that is what is really happening in the school. The proper strategies for that situation are very, very different than if you believe the shooter is actively going after victims or if there are victims potentially bleeding out on the floor. Supposedly, the officers that finally did get to him were extremely surprised because when they finally got to the classroom the gunman wasn't alone and there were victims bleeding out. As I said before, I can absolutely imagine 38 officers being absolute cowards, but I can't imagine ALL of the officers being cowards. In general, police officers tend to be MORE BRAVE than the average member of the population. And we are also talking about a group of Texans. Even if it was just a matter of cowardice, there were plenty of parents who were willing to go in that day. They could have just stood aside and let the parents take care of it if it really just came down to cowardice. I'm convinced they didn't want the parents in the way because they didn't need potentially more innocent, untrained victims getting in the way, and if the shooter really had been holed up alone in barricaded classroom intent on taking out police officers it absolutely would be the right call to keep any parents from coming in. I don't believe the Ulvade case was a group of terrible, entitled, cowardly officers. I solidly believe it was a true breakdown in communication.
      But that is where I say something feels off. In hindsight we know there were people in the classrooms calling out and telling police what was happening. We also know that police officers on the ground were told that the shooter was alone and holed up in a classroom, but we don't have a single clue as to where that story even came from. In a situation like that, clear communication is absolutely essentially, and this was a catastrophic failure in the communications. Who was responsible for those breakdowns in communications and how on earth did they KEEP happening as additional reports kept coming in from people who were inside the building? That part just doesn't sound believable to me. I have actually heard a conspiracy theory that says the man who was responsible for communications that day was known to be extremely anti-gun and may have deliberately sabotaged the communication to ensure as many people died as possible to support the anti-gun lobby. If that is true, that man is truly despicable. On one hand, I have trouble believing someone could be that evil. On the other hand, it would make sense out of a situation that to me is completely senseless. It also is more believable to me that one evil person had an agenda than that an entire police force just suddenly turned cowards when the lives of innocent CHILDREN were at stake.
      Anyway, regardless of the truth of that situation, I have certainly lost a ton of faith in most LEO's over the years. But I also agree that I know some very good ones. Sometimes it is hard for me to know when the police are deserving and in need of real support and when they are being either high-handed or corrupt or are trying to cover up a mistake, etc.

    I had to pick up a friend once and she slept through her alarms, slept through my multiple phone calls, slept through me ringing her doorbell, slept through me banging on her door. I’ve had other friends fall asleep at parties and stay asleep while we were yelling and laughing right next to her. Some people are heavy sleepers.
