Your videos have helped me so much! I recently was placed in charge of a building with a 10 year old vrv3 system and needless to say I have had my problems. Your videos have simplified my day to day life and I thank you for it.
Kyle Anson and I want to thank you for the nice comment. I know when I was starting out, seeing how you did a diagnosis compared to reading how, made the world of difference. Thanks for watching!
I’ve learned quite a bit more in the VRV world in the last 4 years, but Daikin has a strict “no videos” policy 😞 I work for a Daikin factory rep since 2018. Thanks for checking out the video!
What happens is it starts low then climbs, eventually going open. Then you have to wait for it to discharge and check the others. It is fine if it does that. If it was lower and didn’t go up, it would be bad.
Ti Network Australia its not made anymore, and it doesn’t have any nomenclature. The manufacturers rep sold it to us (I work for them now), and now they sell the plastic ones now, made by Refco. I have found that they can pass a board, and the board can fail later, taking out compressors. If we have a compressor fail electrically, we replace the inverter board with it.
I also have the Fieldpiece SC640, which has a high ohm reading range (like 40 million ohms) that is good for the thermistor checks, and it's response time is pretty quick (better the the Uei DL429). It still has the 32 degree operating temperature limitation (although I don't know how "limiting" that really is) like most manufacturers have except Fluke.
In the service manual I have it's P2. Having said that, I noticed they have different methods in different manuals. In one manual it goes to a power transistor check I described in this video, and in another manual it has different methods of testing. In VRV IV service manual it shows the same method in the video. I'm going to study it and possibly have to do another video doing the methods described in the other manual. Thanks for commenting!
Sainath Gajjila get your service manual and find the error and follow the step by step flow diagram of troubleshooting. Always turn off power, and wait fifteen minutes before testing the inverter board.

I just recently purchased the Refco inverter checker. Great video
My name is Rob-Z. I'm a VRV service technician from Indianapolis, IN. I find your videos very helpful. Keep up the good work!

If you should find above 1.2 and was just open it means your board was in fault?

I have seme pcb .is comin error l5 how to rapair .this falt..help me thank you.
Hi mate Can you please give me more information for aluminium cased inverter checker? Who made it and what is model number?

@@tcphvacr9950 I have inverter checker from DAIKIN Australia but I don't trust them at all.
Good vid. Keep the vrf/ vrf videos coming!
Any other meters besides fluke you like for vrv work?

Great vid, By the way - O.L. doesn't mean Open Line as you say - that means Out Limit of the meter range.
Main Power Source MCB is tripping without any alarm.
What might be the problem if you can guide me sir.
Bad board
WHWT SHOULD WE DO AT (L5) ERROR AT INVERTOR BOARD WE HAVE SAME BOARD.
thanks for posting. how can i get a hold of the daikin manuals?

@@tcphvacr9950 thank you
Please, can you provide a diagram of the testing device
The testing device is a Fluke 87V meter, on diode mode.
great vid thanks for the info, I just finished the trouble shooting course in FL it covered exactly what you were talking about.
do you repair inverters?
Duarte Handyman Services LLC. Duarte no. This is just to see if the diode bridges are good.
excellent work
Great video
Kenny W thanks, I’m going to try and post more stuff that helps get you to a proper diagnosis of what’s going on in the system.
I thought the testing is between P1 not P2?
