Milwaukee vs Hart
Does the Hart wrench have the capability to hold it's position like the Milwaukee wrench can? I had to find out! This comparison comes from a viewer comment that Hart was as good but cheaper, not from claims by the manufacturer.

I just purchased the product “Digital Torque Wrench 60648” My wrench came with a single adjustable head (the smaller one) In the manual the following text appears: Applied torque at setpoint = Entered Torque Setting * • For ratchet head 1 • For adjustable head 0.782 • For large adjustable head 0.75 This text is very ambiguous and raises a few questions: 1. Do I have to adjust my set value by a factor of 0.782 (i.e. if I want 25 N-m do I need to set 25 * 0.782 = 19.55 on the digital display) 2. Or was the wrench calibrated using the adjustable head it came with such that the displayed torque value is the actual torque value at the head. 3. If I later purchase the ratchet head or the large adjustable head do I need to calculate the torque setting using the factors described above? 4. If I change heads is there a way to tell the wrench which head is installed such that the wrench calculates the correct torque using those factors? I just used a quinn 3/8 drive digital torque adapter to test this and it does appear that 10 ft-lbs on the quinn lands close to 7.8 ft-lbs on the yellow jacket.

If the manual states what you just listed, then yes, you would multiply and adjust your setting. I don’t recall seeing that in my manual, and I haven’t had issues with using the set torque, but they may have done more extensive testing and found the multiplier was needed for accuracy.

You also have to make sure you use it the right way round, as if you go the wrong way with it it doesn’t click out and you can over tighten very easy to do on a long day and in the dark working from flashlights😮 this would be much quicker gonna buy one many thanks for showing its features! The memory storage will save time massively especially as I only work with Mitsubishi 👊👊👊

The only issue with pressure you would have is if it doesn’t depress the core. If your pressures were proper for the unit (eg. If you had 110/280 pressures on a 410A system), the reason they were the same was the fact the conditions were very similar on each job.

@@tcphvacr9950 That’s interesting. Is that because the Milwaukee are so good, or the Knipex are lacking in something ? I have Bahco adjustables, a 4”, two 7” wide jaw, a 10” and an 18”. They cost around £250 a significant amount, but only the 18” one can do what the Knipex can’t. I have the Knipex in 125mm, 180mm and 300mm. The 300mm ( 12” ones ) can’t do what the 18” Bahco can so unless I get the 400mm Pliers Wrench ( for leverage reasons only, but thinking about that the Knipex can open much wider at 83mm versus the Bahco at 53mm ) I’ll always need the adjustable. 👍

I prefer the Fieldpiece SC480, it has the rotation function for three phase, and doesn’t require an extra lead. The Amprobe also has a limited resistance range of 60,000 ohms, which limits testing some temperature thermistors. Other than those two reasons, it’s a good meter. The ability to read amperage at the tip of the clamp is a cool feature as well.
