  • Review of the Klein Insulated Screwdrivers, well worth the money. Demand on these are higher than I thought, but here is a recent link where they are still at $50.

Good review. My respectful criticism would be that you could have shown the tools in use a little bit and talk about how it compares to a non interchangeable screwdriver. Also the square head bit is very important. This fits most circuit breakers and many screws on receptacles and various electrical fittings so it is an important one especially when working on a live circuit which I do not recommend but I know people do it. I would agree some improvements could be made as to length of bit and larger variety of blades but overall a very nice set for the price. I will probably buy to replace multiple screw drivers with one and also be adding the feature of insulated.

I think the reason they don’t make insulated terminal screwdrivers is that, like you said, might make them too thick…,but I think it’s more because those are “electronic” screwdrivers. Mainly for dc terminals or dry contact terminals. I haven’t seen a lot of teens so that require a small precision screw driver that have 120vac or more on them.🤷‍♂️ In my trade anyways. It’s all 5-48vdc or maybe a 120vac

You make a good point. Most of the rooftop equipment I’ve dealt with has either large enough screws on high voltage, or the wiring is in a DIN rail terminal connector.

It looks like a really nice set. Thanks for helping me make up my mind on a purchase! Also, I think the square tip is included with the set for us electricians. #2 square is for most of our fittings and some panels. #1 square for devices.

Good review. It looks like a good set. I just never pulled the trigger yet. I’m a fan of the long shank screwdrivers. I hate using an 11 in 1 type screw driver but it comes in handy for sure.

Nice review. Any possibility of a van tour?

AKA CUZ I could, no problem. It’s kind of a happy mess, but I’ll throw one together.

I was pumped when I got it, but the flat blade is already starting to twist.

John McMaster Is the bit twisting where it meets the orange insulation? Or is the blade itself deforming?

@@tcphvacr9950 the blade started to twist when I was loosening the lugs on a starter. It was tight, but not that tight. I still had my old dewalt set in the van this one replaced and it backed it out no issues. The smooth shank is cool, but I'm not sold on the material.

John McMaster I would try and get that replaced. Sounds like you got a bad one. I’ll have to test mine and see what torque it can take. I’ve had nutdrivers slip inside the handles before, so I know tools can fail when they shouldn’t.

@@tcphvacr9950 Yeah I do feel like the fastener should yield before the tool. I just assumed it was chincy. Like everything else now days lol.
