Hi, I have Samsung RF4287HARS / XAA - initially my dispenser display unit digits light went off and replaced during the warranty and again after few months the new dispenser display did the same thing. I have 1.6v DC to the inverter board. Led indicator is blank and no output voltage to compressor. Just replaced the inverter board and it's doing the same thing now. Anything else I can Check?
How can he measure the output p.w.m. signal from the main control board looking at the input to the inverter board with the cable disconnected, I think this guy is confused, you have to measure at the cable and i’m not sure but it may have to be connected to see proper levels.

I have an RFG237. The inverter board has a single flash (starting failure). I get a reading of 0v on the compressor signal when I should see 2.5v. Service guide says that the signal is 0-800Hz with a 50% duty cycle. I have a low end multimeter (not true rms). Is it possible that my multimeter not get a true reading, i.e. it may misread that kind of square wave signal?
So meaning there is no output your inverter module, the inverter module receive signal from micro controller, then to the driver then to the inverter modules, check the DC supply 340vdc if available.
Ok, did all of this and both LEDs are solid. The fridge and freezer will not cool. We had a power surge last night and woke up to it warmer. Performed the reset and it started working. This afternoon it stopped again. No fan and no compressor running unless in FF mode. Ideas?

I got the DA9200483G inverter board and after installation the system control unit at the door , the compressor fan and the lighting in fridge/freezer works but the compressor is not powering up. However samsung compressor tester was use to test it and it power up fine only that the hot pipe is not hot because there is no gas in the compressor. Please what is the issue. My fridge used the DA41-00411A inverter board and experiencing the 5 flash error. Samsung cheaped out on no name electrolytic caps. All appeared normal but removed and tested out of circuit every single one was WAY out of spec. Replaced with some budget Cheng caps and compressor is back up running again.
Great comment! I just replaced most of the caps on the same board (was flashing 5 times) and the fridge runs again. 3 of the 4 47uf caps were bad, replaced all of them as well as the 470’s just cause i had them laying around, Bingo, fridge works again!

After much hunting on internet I find that instead a replacement PDB part number 06DA4100614B P171BB79109 is available. Can i use this PDB (bearing a part number which does not entirely match the original defective PDB) to replace the defective PDB in my refrigerator? In other words will the available replacement PDB (bearing a different part number as above) be COMPATIBLE with my refrigerator model as mentioned above? Please help. my fridge DA92-00988C inverter LED only turns on for a brief second when initially plugging in then it goes out. Only thing which turns on is the Family Hub computer screen but nothing else works. Most refrigerators have a built in delay to protect the compressor. If the compressor stops running, it may not attempt to restart the compressor for up to 15 minutes.
Samsung rs265tdrs : Both inverter board and motherboard flash once. Compressor not coming on at all. FF mode on makes no difference. Fault code mode shows no faults. Tested compressor windings and all of the 3 positions show 11.2 ohms. Not shorted to ground. Inverter board was removed and I don't see any obvious signs of damage. Are we looking at bad compressor or inverter board? I hate now that fridges are computers. Which components fail on the inverter board? Capacitors are not blown.

Light is solid, the compressor comes on but the air coming out at the back is cool not hot. The freezer is cold. The evaporator fan will not come on had a tech out to replace it and the thermistor. Not sure what it could be.

Freezer Top 2 coils light frost,below that moist but cool. No err codes no flashes on pcb board. Refer is fine and reaches directed temps. Freezer won’t drop below 31. All fans are working. Compressor runs and gets warm and light vibration. Of course ice maker isn’t working. Temp sensors work. I’m out of ideas.
I have model RF18HFENBSR. The control panel is on the top of the fridge at the back, but I cannot get it to go into FF mode. Holding the energy saver & fridge buttons for any amount of time, doesn't change the mode. I removed the panel cover and there is only a red indicator light. Some refrigerators are not designed to operate on GFCI outlets. Check your owners manual or with the manufacturer to see if yours is compatible to operate on a GFCI outlet.

All the control parts PCB including the inverter power board DA9200483G were changed with new parts. After installation the control unit of the fridge on the door, the compressor fan and inner light of the fridge and freezer works fine except the compressor refused to power on. Samsung compressor tester was used and it powers up the compressor only that the heated pipe of the compressor was not getting hot as a result of insufficient or no gas inside it. My freezer is working fin. The refrigerator is freezing up. I replaced the evaporator fan and it still wont come on. I also tested the door switches they seem to be fine. What else could cause the evaporator fan not to come on in a samsung french door Frig.
Computer engineering student here with limited knowledge of this system. I have the same problem freezing up. The recirculation fan works but ultimately freezes along with the evaporation core and drain system. I verified the heating element has 100ohms (good) and the temperature thermistor disengaged with a blow dryer after some time (good). The temp sensors are negative coefficient and decrease resistance with heat applied (good). Everything points to a control board or power supply due to prolonged time frame of freeze up. I see a solid red led on the inverter board while it cools back down from a complete evap freeze up. Anyone chime in?

He's got the power on.. He's measuring voltage, aren't you describing a continuity test?

It sounds like you need a multimeter that can read voltage frequency. The Fluke 117 we show in the video has this feature.

Also, If I had to guess, the ebay repair kits for this board is just 7 smaller electrolytic capacitors.

keep in mind that the signal on some fridges is a square or pwm signal, many multimeters will not read correctly so don’t assume bad control board.

Usually the protocol is to first replace the inverter control board, and if that doesn't fix the issue, then replace the compressor.

I have a model RF220nctasg/aa that is not cooling. I have confirmed that the main board is supplying power to the inverter, but the inverter board doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. I'm not getting any voltage reading at the compressor either, but that's not really surprising. I've seen that I should be able to put it into the FF mode, but I don't have the front control panel that every video seems to show. 1) How do I activate FF? 2)What does it mean if my inverter board LED isn't coming on at all?

It most likely means a compressor failure.
When I select the water button then press the dispenser, it switches to ice and dispenses ice. No matter how many times I select water it keep switching and dispensing ice. Any suggestions?

my fridge DA92-00988C inverter LED only turns on for a brief second when initially plugging in then it goes out. Only thing which turns on is the Family Hub computer screen but nothing else works. Water/Ice LED's in the front of the fridge just blinks. Tried changing out the inverter board with no change.

A bad inverter board would not act that way, but a bad main control board could cause those types of symptoms.

Most refrigerators have a built in delay to protect the compressor. If the compressor stops running, it may not attempt to restart the compressor for up to 15 minutes.
Samsung rs265tdrs : Both inverter board and motherboard flash once. Compressor not coming on at all. FF mode on makes no difference. Fault code mode shows no faults. Tested compressor windings and all of the 3 positions show 11.2 ohms. Not shorted to ground. Inverter board was removed and I don't see any obvious signs of damage. Are we looking at bad compressor or inverter board? I hate now that fridges are computers. Which components fail on the inverter board? Capacitors are not blown.

Light is solid, the compressor comes on but the air coming out at the back is cool not hot. The freezer is cold. The evaporator fan will not come on had a tech out to replace it and the thermistor. Not sure what it could be.

It could be a sealed system leak. Usually the easiest way to determine that is by looking at the frost pattern on the evaporator coil(s).
Freezer Top 2 coils light frost,below that moist but cool. No err codes no flashes on pcb board. Refer is fine and reaches directed temps. Freezer won’t drop below 31. All fans are working. Compressor runs and gets warm and light vibration. Of course ice maker isn’t working. Temp sensors work. I’m out of ideas.

I have model RF18HFENBSR. The control panel is on the top of the fridge at the back, but I cannot get it to go into FF mode. Holding the energy saver & fridge buttons for any amount of time, doesn't change the mode. I removed the panel cover and there is only a red indicator light. Some refrigerators are not designed to operate on GFCI outlets. Check your owners manual or with the manufacturer to see if yours is compatible to operate on a GFCI outlet.
@PartsDr It has been plugged into a GFCI since we bought it. That being said I'm trying to run it on a generator while our power is out.

All the control parts PCB including the inverter power board DA9200483G were changed with new parts. After installation the control unit of the fridge on the door, the compressor fan and inner light of the fridge and freezer works fine except the compressor refused to power on. Samsung compressor tester was used and it powers up the compressor only that the heated pipe of the compressor was not getting hot as a result of insufficient or no gas inside it. My freezer is working fin. The refrigerator is freezing up. I replaced the evaporator fan and it still wont come on. I also tested the door switches they seem to be fine. What else could cause the evaporator fan not to come on in a samsung french door Frig.
Computer engineering student here with limited knowledge of this system. I have the same problem freezing up. The recirculation fan works but ultimately freezes along with the evaporation core and drain system. I verified the heating element has 100ohms (good) and the temperature thermistor disengaged with a blow dryer after some time (good). The temp sensors are negative coefficient and decrease resistance with heat applied (good). Everything points to a control board or power supply due to prolonged time frame of freeze up. I see a solid red led on the inverter board while it cools back down from a complete evap freeze up. Anyone chime in?
