your new workout routine is so realistic and I love it. I feel like I see so many Instagram posts and TikTok's where people are talking about how unhealthy they were and then all of the sudden, they're gym rats. but I feel like you taking us on this journey is so helpful and motivating because its so realistic and normal to take baby steps. I've been working out too lately with at home workouts and seeing other peoples realistic journeys has been so helpful. also, its very important to stretch as well, it makes working out so much easier on your body. Im a dancer so i do stretch a lot already but stretching right before your workout makes it easier. i love you
Regarding the soreness, stretch before and after your runs! It helps a ton. I hate stretching before my workouts, but stretching for just 10mins before and after definitely helps :)
Yes!! Stretching is so so important not only for the soreness but also for preventing injuries and protect your muscles and joints. Please don’t take this too lightly if you start working out, especially concerning running on pavement etc. ❤
Girl, not focusing on weight and calories that's a great idea! Totally understand, because I've struggled with the same issue, and it's definitely not helpful. What I found helpful is to find an activity that you enjoy, and also to understand why do you need to exercise, it helps to focus more on what you're body and lifestyle need. For example, I love hiking, so I combined yoga, a little running, and some weight workout. I hope you enjoy gym! It can be so fun :)
You’re definitely doing it right easing into things. As someone who’s worked out consistently on and off in phases for the last several years, I can tell you the best thing you can do to remain consistent and get your best results is prioritizing exercise you enjoy. Right now it might be running; later it might be something else. Any movement that feels good and that you can look forward to is what you should be doing, and finding different things you enjoy helps mix things up every now and then. I’d also steer clear of anything that gives you discomfort during exercise, even if it’s small (including running in the heat with your jacket on, which is dangerous (you can overheat really quickly without realizing) and counterproductive because it’ll lessen your enjoyment and potentially your performance, leading to lower likelihood of remaining consistent in your running in the longterm). It’s also totally normal to have aesthetic reasons for wanting to work out, but I’ve stayed way more consistent by focusing on non-aesthetic benefits of working out: helps my anxiety by channeling that energy elsewhere, helps me feel more present in my body and excited to see what it’s capable of, and helps me sleep SO much better. Working out regularly also just keeps me feeling more myself. I’m really pulling for you and appreciate you sharing your journey with us!
When I was running a lot years ago, walk/run splits really helped me!! I did 30 seconds running, 30 seconds walking, and for me it made a huge difference. My mom does a similar thing but different intervals for her walk vs run
i love how realistic your vlogs are. whenever i want some motivation i get it from your videos. its so much easier to not go back into unhealthy habits when i see someone struggling like me but not giving up. i actually started with skin care, your vlogs were more about body and hair care, it still made me keep going on and look for information. i started my hair and body care after getting motivated by your videos. i have been going down in a spiral for some months. but now i wanted to start again and your videos are literally life altering. thanks for this. 💜
KAYLI POSTING TWICE IN A WEEK IS THE BEST THING EVER please keep posting and maybe do an episode about foods/'dieting'? I love every video you put out please keep posting in 2024!
i really enjoy how often you talk about your mental health! it is so helpful and so encouraging to see that it’s possible to do the things you want even when you’re fighting against yourself.
I used to run 2-3 times a week for 1-2 years but haven’t really gone on a run in over a year and a half, and want to get back into it in 2024. Totally here for the realistic easing yourself into this new habit :) First is working on consistency and when you start noticing the benefits (no shortness of breath, being able to run 10 min without stopping, feeling full of energy), it gets addictive!! Love your videos.
I'm so proud of the steps you're taking ! Walk/runs are very much it when you start running, it prevents injuries and gets you started on the right foot. Also, my best friend runs a lot and she always mentions walking IS a part of running, no shame in that. You're doing it girlie, we're all behind you !
Love this for you! I couldn’t even run a mile without stopping 2 years ago and I am at 6-8 mile runs with no stops now!! I can’t wait to see your progress, keep going it’s worth it ❤️
Always psyched to see a new video. I love how truthful you are in your videos and journeys instead of just showing the end result. That’s motivation enough. Thanks so much for sharing the struggles of humans in such a real way and the optimum mindset to live alongside them!
Running is a great start, along with gym workouts, I'd add in some yoga workouts and yoga stretching. Yoga type exercise is really good on rest days from running, because your body is still doing something and it'll boost recovery (muscle soreness) eat something before running for sure, I keep it light and then eat good stuff after. It is also important to eat a solid healthy meal before you go to sleep to help you in the morning.
Love this! I’ve been wanting to get back in shape and get healthier too because I’ve fallen into an episode of being too stressed and busy and not having any motivation to excercise, so this is really motivating me a lot! Keep it up girl!
heeey babe ❤ the biggest thing for me when it comes to staying consistent is mindset. what do i mean: whenever i workout to achive a certain body, i stop within 2 weeks. the only thing that keeps me going is the mindest of „workout for your mental health, not for your physical health“ - i noticed a huge change in my motivation once i switched to that way of thinking about it ❤️❤️❤️ so excited to see your progress!
Tips that helped me throughout my journey (im still at the beginning) but these tips help me with my motivation to continue - make sure to eat enough food I eat a lot of protein for example bc it helps me to feel full for a longer ( like build eggs with anything u like) - make sure to have a rest day bc ur muscles need that - if ur a green juice drinker make sure to drink enough water bc the juice is heavy with vitamins and water helps ur kidneys alot to digest it
🏃🏼♂ Eat protein after you work out, ESPECIALLY when you're going to the gym and actively using your muscles. The process of getting stronger is literally breaking down your muscles and your body needs protein to recover and build that muscle back up!!
tw: eating disorder Kayli, watching your video was soooo comforting for me. I'm at this phase right now to trying to get into a fitness routine and seeing you do that in such a realistic way was really motivating to me. When I was a teenager I also had this same fobia that you had and I used to feel like no one else in the world had it because everyone thought that was super weird. Thanks for your video ❤
Good job! I’m on the same journey. I started the 1st of January and I read a quote about you will not always have motivation but that’s where discipline comes in! And anytime I’m not feeling motivated I remind myself I still have to stay disciplined. It has helped my mental health and energy levels SO MUCH!!
Ok I love this, eveuyhing you’re doing I struggle with so I quit because I feel like it’s just me, but seeing you have the Same struggles and finding solutions are amazing! I also have pmdd and I’ve found that semaine makes vitamins that help and stuff to take when you pms before your period… it took 3 months but I feel a huge difference.
i can 100% relate to this whole video , i just started my work out journey as well and i don’t always know if im doing something right/wrong but i don’t want to let that stop me. Loving these types of videos you’ve been making recently 🩷
Girl you got this , Your on the right track just don't let this control your life give your self a break now and than because I've been there and it can start to mess with your mind ,so have fun and live life to the fullest be healthy 💪😊
Try not to think about it as motivation. Instead it’s discipline. When you do thing through motivation it’s easy to stop, or argue yourself out of doing things when you’re not feeling motivated. But when you train yourself to be disciplined, it’s not even a thought or argument. You just simply do it, because not doing it is not an option. This mindset has completely changed my life! Hope it helps ❤️❤️
🏃🏼♀️- love that we’re kinda doin it together. I started my health journey in October. Just not wanting to feel gross anymore! I already feel so much better. On to the next great thing. Keep going Kayli 🥳🫶🏼
When you mentioned PMDD I knew I had to comment. I suspect I have the same thing, it’s really difficult, but one of the things that has helped me keep my head up is 1: Taking care of myself, and 2: remembering that this is treatable. It’s not something you can cure to my knowledge, but if you can treat it then it might not always be so difficult. For me personally mine can last sometimes two weeks before my period where I don’t sleep well and I’m super depressed and have a ton of anxiety and all the other symptoms. My heart goes out to you because this can make you feel so alone. But if that’s how you’re feeling, I hope I can reassure you that you are not alone in this. People do love you, and if you want us to be, we will be there for you,
so exciting that youre starting your fitness journey! I would love to see a video about managing your haircare routine while also working out regularly. That’s one thing I’ve been struggling with as someone who works out a lot and is starting their haircare journey. I want to reduce my hair washing but it’s tough when you sweat regularly. Best of luck w your new routine! :)
You’re doing so great! I’ve also struggled with EDs before and got into running last year. I would recommend eating like an hour before your run to give yourself some time to digest. I usually have peanut butter toast. I also keep snacks in my car to eat after my run because I can’t wait to get home 😂 make sure to stretch and listen to your body - it’s good to take rest days when you need them! To encourage myself to stay active without being too restrictive, I set a goal to just do some intentional movement everyday (which could be a walk, yoga or stretching if I’m feeling really tired).
Let’s gooo I’m so excited for you! I’ve been going to the gym for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. I think the biggest thing that’s kept me consistent is treating it as a form of self care and associating it with positivity, like the time to block out the rest of the world and focus in. Ultimately there’s no right or wrong way and just find a type of movement that makes you the most happy.
OKAY GYM GIRLY ERA✨😚🧘♀ The timing of this post could not have been more perfect! Just when my ~new year gym girly~ motivation was starting to wear off, you boosted me right back up... just in time for my birthday month!! tysm 🫡🫶
I think you would really like guided runs, the Nike run app it’s really good to track your runs and listen to guided runs etc. keep it up girly… you motivated me to sign myself in the Lululemon 10k 💗💗💗💗
Idk if you’ll see this comment, but if you ever plan on lifting I recommend watching Krissy Cela! I was so scared of the gym because I didn’t know about form or really anything, but she has videos explaining literally every little detail of form for different exercises, like literally whether you should breathe in or out at certain points, how your feet and knees should be, if you should tuck your chin, bend your knees slightly, etc. She also explains how to structure your workouts, like lower body day or upper body day, when to stretch, which exercises to do first and last; she explains everything in so much detail that I feel really confident in going to the gym and knowing what I’m doing This year, my boyfriend and I are right there with ya girl, we’re trying to get healthy and get back in the gym, we got this! Excited to see all the videos you post about this in the future :) (sorry for the rant, love your content, this is my comfort channel
I commented this on your last video when you talked about exercising but it’s ok to alternate running and walking! As long as you’re moving it’s better than nothing! And it’s good to walk and give yourself a rest/recovery day! ♥️
Love it! Make sure you get good shoes and get your stretches in so you don’t get shin splints and plantar fasciitis.. because it sucks and it feels really defeating 😣
Hey, Kayli!! You just motivated me to go out. I am at a point of my life where I just go to uni and don’t do much, so I sort of feel useless and like i’m losing time? Idk. I’m up to get healthy mentally and physically together. 💓
So proud of you!! One suggestion would be to glance at nutrition labels/ingredient lists. Lots of things marketed as "healthy" arent that great. For example, clif bars have a ton of sugar added to them.
I recently started drinking red beet juice bevore my runs and it helps A LOT :) red beet contains a lot of iron, which binds oxygen in your blood. So you kind of get more oxygen out of one breath. The juice is disgusting actually, but just a few sips help out a lot ☺️
hi kayli!! great vid, you are super inspiring and i have some tips for you! 1) watch Amelie Desai, shes a great fitness youtuber for beginners 2) cliff bars are candy bars marketed as health foods, totally fine to have but if you think they are nutritionally beneficial to your fitness the macros dont really back that 3) berries are great for pre run fuel!
Danon light and fit yogurt is the best! I also recommend Mel Robins 5 Second Rule and High Five Habit for motivation. Atomic Habits for building healthier habits. You got this girl!
Nothing hit so hard like you talking about your yitties. Girl I feel you I have to double and sometimes triple up the sports bras (triple D Naturally here) so I feel your pain and wanting a reduction. Running has helped me with my mental health immensely as well as perimenopause symptoms. Keep up the good work and don't let people bring you down! Just getting out and doing some exercise is more then what a lot of people do. You got this!
I totally recommend watching Dr. Berg youtube videos so informative, i always thought i was crazy for having such an irrational fear of throwing up not just me but hearing or seeing anyone else. Also there are many more of us cheering for you and your journey 💛
Hey Kayli! Always rooting for you! I recommend Dr. Stacy Sims' book "ROAR" All kinds of tips for female fitness. She says a mix of protein and carbs is a great pre-workout snack. So the PB+rice cake is perfect! Also, Dr. Mindy Pelz is another great resource for female fitness!
Hey Kayli, first of all, you are beautiful already! And thank you for being a motivation to others and making us feel less alone😊 A tip as a big busted girly myself.. wear 2 sports bra's over each other, first one with cross straps and second with straight straps.. makes the world of difference! Hope this helps❤
The soreness will stop, the 2nd day is always the worst. Will make you keep at it to avoid the soreness. Oh ya, expect a high grocery bill! You gunna be eating about 3X as much, make sure its protein focused.
Hi babe! Love to see you start your fitness journey, that’s how I started and now I go to the gym regularly 😊 one tip I would give for someone starting out in fitness, is stretttcchhh! That will help so much, even on your rest days, some light stretches help your soreness 🩵 keep it up luv!!
This video seriously inspired me. I'm in the same boat.. im skinny but I eat fast food or junk everyday and never work out! definitely going to try the run/walk routine. If you haven't already could you make a video of some easy healthy recipes? Ur food looks so yummy! Thank you!!!💓
I love this series bc I need this I’m on the same journey and you’re videos are definitely helping a lot please keep posting you’re amazing ❤❤❤love you girly
Also I feel like muscle-mass will love you. I am also thin like you and been lifting for 3 years now and I look properly fit and I FEEL like a superhero everyday haha. I was basically at this point about 1 year in consistency of 3-4 workouts a week. :)
started working out again after i saw your 2024 goal video🫶🏻 nothing much but better than not moving at all obvoiusly. i know do like 5 min stretching and then 15 min pilates inspired workout just in my bedroom at like 6 am
I love doing rice cakes pre or post workout with a small layer of nutella and banana slices on top its DELISH and filling and good carbs pre workout or a yummy treat post. Also i know a lot of people workout fasted and that's like literally impossible for me i get so lightheaded and never have prime energy so Ill do that snack like 45-one hour before a workout plus electrolytes for during and it saves me. also i DONT weigh myself. muscle weighs more than fat so as you start to get fitter, your weight my not even change that much so i never weigh myself because to me its not going to show where my progress is. I just make sure i feel good, eat well, and enjoy my workouts
not weighing yourself (at least for a while) is honestly the way to go, at least imo because in regards to gaining muscle and becoming more toned, you can’t determine your results or see them on the scale because muscle weighs more than fat so you can gain more weight but actually be in better shape. i recommend instead taking progress pictures or using a measuring tape and writing down your measurements. you’ll see the physical difference in regards to gaining muscle anyways because the results take effect pretty quickly for beginners.
i do not recommend counting calories or weighing but make sure to be eating clean and eat tonssss of protein. at first since ur running u might get scared of the fact that you might get rlly hungry but dw thats normal. i recommend for u to get some weights at home and do some basic workouts. just remember to love urself cuz ur amazing and ur doing this for ur health not to look a certain way
Try taking beginner yoga class, it will change your life. I recommend classes which have "flow" or "vinyasa" in the name. I also don't need to motivate myself when I either have a personal trainer or subscription at yoga studio since people expect me to show up, so I do
If maybe i have one advise for the runs : watch out for your knees 🙏🏻 i litteraly wanted to make the same as you 2 years ago, went 1 and a half time for a run and had to stop because i hurted myself and had du go to med ( please forgive my english i do as best as i can as a french girlie)
As former runner, my tip is to run in different places! It keeps motivated even during days when you don't want to
Oh I love this thank you!!🩷

I was so scared of the gym because I didn’t know about form or really anything, but she has videos explaining literally every little detail of form for different exercises, like literally whether you should breathe in or out at certain points, how your feet and knees should be, if you should tuck your chin, bend your knees slightly, etc.
She also explains how to structure your workouts, like lower body day or upper body day, when to stretch, which exercises to do first and last; she explains everything in so much detail that I feel really confident in going to the gym and knowing what I’m doing

Thank you for the motivation and please don’t give up and stay with your goals ❤
hi kayli!! great vid, you are super inspiring and i have some tips for you!
1) watch Amelie Desai, shes a great fitness youtuber for beginners
2) cliff bars are candy bars marketed as health foods, totally fine to have but if you think they are nutritionally beneficial to your fitness the macros dont really back that
3) berries are great for pre run fuel!
kayli i am so proud of you and what you have achieved and i love u sooooo much!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Danon light and fit yogurt is the best!
Omg the double braids at the beginning 😍 going to try that!
Love this era for you
Hey Kayli, first of all, you are beautiful already! And thank you for being a motivation to others and making us feel less alone😊
A tip as a big busted girly myself.. wear 2 sports bra's over each other, first one with cross straps and second with straight straps.. makes the world of difference!
Hope this helps❤
Yess get it Kayli!!! 2024 is the FITNESS JOURNEY YEARRRR 👏👏 this is the year I’m taking my journey seriously too, we gotta get healthy 💪
Perfect video to watch on my lunch 🫶🏼
The soreness will stop, the 2nd day is always the worst. Will make you keep at it to avoid the soreness. Oh ya, expect a high grocery bill! You gunna be eating about 3X as much, make sure its protein focused.
This is definitely motivating me to get out of bed 😅
Love you Kayli!

Needed this vlog 😢❤
hi Kayli i just want to say that you really inspire me and i really enjoy watching your videos
I just make sure i feel good, eat well, and enjoy my workouts
not weighing yourself (at least for a while) is honestly the way to go, at least imo because in regards to gaining muscle and becoming more toned, you can’t determine your results or see them on the scale because muscle weighs more than fat so you can gain more weight but actually be in better shape. i recommend instead taking progress pictures or using a measuring tape and writing down your measurements. you’ll see the physical difference in regards to gaining muscle anyways because the results take effect pretty quickly for beginners.
oh my god it’s a miracle
i do not recommend counting calories or weighing but make sure to be eating clean and eat tonssss of protein. at first since ur running u might get scared of the fact that you might get rlly hungry but dw thats normal. i recommend for u to get some weights at home and do some basic workouts. just remember to love urself cuz ur amazing and ur doing this for ur health not to look a certain way
Try taking beginner yoga class, it will change your life. I recommend classes which have "flow" or "vinyasa" in the name.
I also don't need to motivate myself when I either have a personal trainer or subscription at yoga studio since people expect me to show up, so I do
I love this video!! I’m trying to run more too- I really resonate with your journey and wish you luck !!
This video really motivated me to get up & work out. Proud of you girl, keep it up, you got this!!! Love your videos 🥰
how I wish I had Kayli as a friend
