I just spent the last 2 days looking at Conquest models. Thanks for the timely video drop! I'm not a war gamer so I was curious about the usability of some of these models for TTRPGs. I love their giants and Minotaur but I'm still unsure of the scale.

Welcome back! Hope your holidays or as lovely as your paint jobs. Conquest is something I'd love to get into but there is no demand for it in my tiny City😢
Most artist brands already have the pigments on each paint as publicly available information, and Scale75 is doing it too, it's so important when you're mixing paints to know which pigments you're actually mixing, and it sucks that miniature painting companies keep that information secret. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reasoning is that facilitating that information would make it easier to paint with a small range of paints since you could mix them a lot easier, and they make a lot of money from having huge ranges with dozens or hundreds of colors, so they would rather not make it easier for people to make more colors from less paints
I know you had to have been working on this quite some time but since I harassed you in the comments of the newest Paint Bravely podcast to do some Conquest content and a few hours later you uploaded this I am going to claim that I am somehow partially responsible. Love seeing conquest minis and I love that you guys continue to talk about the game.
@@GoobertownHobbies quick question, do you have an online store link for the magnet tape you use for your movement trays? I love the technique but all the magnet tape I've found is almost twice as thick and causes the bases to lift a bit more than I'd like.
Thanks for the video Brent. It was interesting to hear more thoughts on the Army Painter Speedpaints 2.0. I agree that they are basically slapchop juice, which is great for getting armies painted fast. The models look nice too. I agree that the older models have not aged well, but the new editions do look really nice and I might be picking up one of those sample kits.
I do def agree with the naming. The absolute best thing you can do with these colors is to take a small, thick papered notebook and paint a labeled line of each in it, thick to thin. One drop a bottle is adequate and you'll never look at a bottle again and go "what color was that again??" Great way to prevent waste
i just bought my first set to paint. I bought the necron 40000warhammer set... built them and primed them ... just started getting interested in painting minis because one of you videos poped up on my recommended for what ever reason ... never looked up mini painting before so it was just pure happenstance. so thanks for that :) the minis in this video look amazing and they look super fun to paint. might have to see if the local game store has some Conquest minis. the archer ones catch my fancy.
I liked their skin tone set and really glad to see colors other than Rickets Pale and I'd have a Dermatologist Look at That Brown added to the speed paint line
From what I heared from guys at LFGS big Conquest is now played without 'loose' models. You stick in the models to tray and make signle diorama of it .. without removable models (unless you want to play First Blood skrimish). That helps a lot with Orks xD
You were the reason why I got the first speedpaints and it seems you'll be the reason that not only I'll get 2.0's but also bunch of Conquest minis. Thanks Brent! (my wallet says the same but in a bit more ironic tone. Weird...)
Those are some of the best minotaurs I've seen. I think I would be quite selective in which Conquest minis I'd buy, to get stuff that fits with my collection of 28mm stuff. I'd go mostly with whatever works as either statues or extra-large creatures, like different types of half-giants or various monstrous humanoids. The more I see the Speedpaints in action, the more I want to try this as a time-saver, because I want to make my Pile smaller.
Awesome video! Appreciate all your hard work and effort. Any chance you will do a mono colour break down like you did with speed paint 1.0? Seeing all the colours with a silver vs white base and then mono coat really helps in choosing. Thank you!
Great video as always. very cozy. I think you might be situated slightly behind me and to my left this episode, though. I'm not sure that is intentional.

I'm right there with ya. We should hold hobby companies up to the same standards as art companies
I know you had to have been working on this quite some time but since I harassed you in the comments of the newest Paint Bravely podcast to do some Conquest content and a few hours later you uploaded this I am going to claim that I am somehow partially responsible. Love seeing conquest minis and I love that you guys continue to talk about the game.
hehehe, I smiled when I saw those comments from you :-) Conquest is good stuff!!
@@GoobertownHobbies quick question, do you have an online store link for the magnet tape you use for your movement trays? I love the technique but all the magnet tape I've found is almost twice as thick and causes the bases to lift a bit more than I'd like.
@@Moonlighter_TV I think I bought it at a Lowes home improvement store...
I love that you've started painting Conquest! And I hope Goobertown Roulette comes back (or just more painting videos)
Army painter ad on the army painter video 🎉🎉
hahaha, computers these days...
One drop a bottle is adequate and you'll never look at a bottle again and go "what color was that again??" Great way to prevent waste
a notebook is a fantastic idea :-)
Saw you in the Adepticon dealer hall but didn't want to interrupt your conversation. So excited to see Speedpaint 2.0, can't wait to get my own set.
i just bought my first set to paint. I bought the necron 40000warhammer set... built them and primed them ... just started getting interested in painting minis because one of you videos poped up on my recommended for what ever reason ... never looked up mini painting before so it was just pure happenstance. so thanks for that :)
the minis in this video look amazing and they look super fun to paint. might have to see if the local game store has some Conquest minis. the archer ones catch my fancy.
the one ur painting at 10:17 look sooooooo coooooooooool . i love hunters, elves, bowmen, archers, marksmen and such
Happiest yt hands down!! bob ross would be proud inded!
Just got my first speed paints. Really enjoyed painting with them and as a beginner it makes it a lot of fun.
nice! :-) keep on having fun
Yes!!!! I've been dying to see this epic job!!!
I liked their skin tone set and really glad to see colors other than Rickets Pale and I'd have a Dermatologist Look at That Brown added to the speed paint line
New Goobertown video? Today's gonna be a good day. :)
i love speed paint 2.0s. they are really inspired me to get back into the hobby.
Some vibrant colours man!
I will say one word when it comes to those sampler boxes for those who don't think they are great for gamers. Frostgrave!
Saw this video earlier, but I had to wait until I could give it my full attention!
Love that this video is coming out just after I got to try Speedpaint 1.0
They both work great for this kind of painting :-) But yeah... 1.0 turned out to have a short production run.
I'm a little sad about that the reactivation is being removed, as I've found it helpful for cleaning up mistakes.
Also wanted to note, I meant this as serendipity, not criticism.
As a monochromatic colourblind painter, descriptive labels are a great idea, thank you!
I think they'll be useful to all of us :-)
From what I heared from guys at LFGS big Conquest is now played without 'loose' models. You stick in the models to tray and make signle diorama of it .. without removable models (unless you want to play First Blood skrimish). That helps a lot with Orks xD
yup yup, that's what I've heard too. Magnets are good call, only take the minis out for painting and for skirmish games :-)
listening to feedback is my nr1 fav thing in people/companies/aliens etc. time to give army painter a shot once the new labels are out
You were the reason why I got the first speedpaints and it seems you'll be the reason that not only I'll get 2.0's but also bunch of Conquest minis. Thanks Brent! (my wallet says the same but in a bit more ironic tone. Weird...)
Have fun with conquest! :-)
Now we just have to get you to play with those amazing conquest minis
Awesome video! Appreciate all your hard work and effort. Any chance you will do a mono colour break down like you did with speed paint 1.0? Seeing all the colours with a silver vs white base and then mono coat really helps in choosing. Thank you!
Great video as always. very cozy. I think you might be situated slightly behind me and to my left this episode, though. I'm not sure that is intentional.
not intentional... hmm... maybe I accidentally hit a slider at some point in editing... also maybe I need to get my ears checked! thanks for noticing ;-)
Speedpaints over a metal undercoat are great. You can also scratch it off with a pin afterwards to get some good battle scars.
heck yeah! :-)
The paint jobs look great to me!
