- Hey guys I'm back with another tutorial and how to. Bass shakers add a huge dimension to our SIM rate racing passion. I cannot speak highly enough about them. I started off with one then moved down to two then moved on to five. It was not an easy road and it took a lot of buying and returning of items to figure out how to actually do it. There's a lot of resources out there but nothing is ever complete. This is my attempt at gathering all the information that I had a difficult time finding. Please please feel free to comment below and ask any questions or any items that I might have missed.

This is great information. It's worth noting that the 12v Power Supply shipped with the Nobsound amp is not enough to get the full 50w output. It's more like 40w. You probably need at least 15v to get the full 50a. I'm not sure what limitations they may have added internally, but the TPA3116 chip is capable of up to 100w + per channel with a 24v power supply. This may not be an issue for most people as some have noted having to turn down the amp because the shakers are too much but remember your experience is going to have a lot to do with how and where you mount the shakers. If you find you're not getting the output you're looking for with this setup, try increasing the power supply on your amp. Here's a rough guide: 12v = 40w + 40w, 15v = 60w + 60w, 18v = 90w + 90w, 24v = 110w + 110w. Minimum 5a output on the power supply. Please keep in mind this is based on the chip they use not the Nobsound product specifically. I'm also not trying to steer anyone away from the Nobsound but there are similar products available for nearly 1/3 price if you're not in a hurry and do some searching. Good luck!

It is always nice if people go out of their way to share stuff like this. Thanks so much for sharing! I won't be looking at making this kind of setup for a while but doing research for months is always better than impulse buying smth like a buttkicker. I want to make the best setup i can while staying within a budget. I would say this video and comment is the best description on how to do it.

There is a huge benefit for haptic feedback when you isolate the platform that your shaker is mounted to from the rest of the rig.
People are talking about isolating their seat and pedal-plate from the rest of the rig and having a huge improvement from the vibrations felt.
if you mount your shaker directly to the seat, then putting even just a rubber washer between the mounting of your seat to your rig and the seat will help a ton, because now the shaker will not have to shake the entire rig anymore and the energy is more localized to the seat.

I started with haptics years ago, and if you're right, It's also better to use powerful bodyshakers, I have 8 Reckhorn bs200i 100w independent speakers in the seat and it's very pleasant, and I do have the seat pneumatically isolated from the chassis, and the pedalboard with 4 springs and rubbers and 2 homemade 12" bodyshakers and another one near the DD base. The best are 100W.RMS mono subwoofer amplifiers and various power supplies, I carry 2 amplifiers with a 24V20Amp source. The power must be doubled so that the dynamic range is total and the peaks can be handled... it's not good to use all the channels in simhub either, better 2 5.1 cards and use the first 3 channels with 2 card...

I started with no feedback other than what my wheel gave.. I found pace improvement when I switched from a T150 to a T300 and open wheel. I also removed my 150 pedal pair that I'd modded with a home made load cell and put a T-LCM set in. again, more improvements but was missing something. Got a BK2 and mounted it.. EVEN MORE improvement but I sometimes struggle to tell what the car is doing underneath me. I had in my head a plan to bring more transducers to the rig but couldn't figure out how to go about it.
THIS FINISHED what concept I had.. saving this video and planning on completing my shopping list. excellent instruction and explanation. My sincerest thanks to you!!!

great video, thanks for the tutorial. Quick question, once it's all setup, do you need to have Simhub running while gaming for the speakers to work or can you just turn the sound card on and everything runs as its been set up?
Simhub always needs to be running in the background. That program receives telemetry data from the game and translates it into audio signals. The cool part about it is that it's always running in the background if you set it up the right way. I think automatically from the get-go it setup to run in the background

I wonder why do you setup the speakers as 5.1 and not only as 5 (without Subwoofer).
I think setting them without would enhance the bass , eg. shaking
As someone that has zero haptics nor have I ever tried a rig with haptics....what's your opinion on 2 bass shakers vs all 4 corners? Big difference?
Asking because I'm about to build this but was wondering the cost vs performance. If 2 bass shakers gets me 80% of the feedback, then I probably won't embark on the 4 corner setup...Thanks!
Not that big of a difference . It's a game and it's fun , stick with 2

Great, finally explain everything, I have question how you connect regular speckers to PC for music, and how setup in Windows
This video specifically talks about using an external audio card for the same reason you are asking. HOW TO GET OTHER SOUNDS? This tutorial shows how to keep your internal audio card for music and game audio. I do cover the windows set up for the external audio card. For the internal audio card that should play your music and game audio you don't have to set it up you just set it as default. I hope that I am answering your question . Let me know

What exactly is the purpose of the sound card if the amps already have one built in? My buttkicker runs off of usb signal via the amplifier, nothing in between. Great video anyway, can’t wait to get this setup on my rig.
Maybe I glanced over that part but that is hugely important. If you have a huge same rig like-minded all sorts of accessories you'll utilize every single USB . Salt to use 3 amps with three USBS each it's too much. Going to 5.1 audio cord reduce his all of that down to one single USB it was just a matter of choice and necessity but it's not a must to make this
What about if you have a powered USB hub? I have 13 slot, so it should work, right?

Great Video…thanks… I replaced 2 Buttkickers for 4 bass shakers. However, the buttkicker seems to react “on the spot” and with bass shakers there seems to be a delay. Any advice you might have? Thanks again…

About the plywood is it working good?
I thought in the way you mounted your speakers in the back is taking away from the experience since they are only half on the wood and wood in general dampens..
Are the vibrating your whole room or only the rig?
The tears transmit barely 25 percent of the vibrations as the fronts do . I need to make ne brakets or find a new way to mount them i.m in the basement Ina purposely built sound proof room with concrete beneath me so in my case nothing transfers outside of that room or outside the rug for that matter

I think I will order an aluminum plate, drill holes into it to mount the speakers and then 4 more holes on the outside to mount it directly to the aluminum profiles.
That should do the trick.
I have my own house, but I still don’t want my room vibrating.
I think I will first try it with rubber feet that you usually put under mills and lathes.
I have plenty of those laying around from the days I still worked on the shopfloor.
If that doesn’t work I have to build something with springs I guess.
Wow thank you very much for the detailed tutorial this will come in handy.. would you mind helping me with something, as this is all very new to me,I have just bought a simple setup to use on my PS5 and play seat challenge x, basically I bought 3 of the mini Dayton TT25 8ohm transducers and the Nobsound mini Bluetooth power amplifier with built in sound card which is 2channel and 50w and 4-8ohm.
My plan was to have one of the transducers (8ohm) under my pedals, then two transducers a on my seat, but running in parallel which I think then halves the ohms so each transducer would be 4ohm, is this safe to do I don’t want to blow out or destroy anything, any help you can give would be greatly appreciated..👍
Hi Marc , I was knowledgeable enough to wire this up and make a video trying to help other replicate my journey . But my knowledge stops there . I literally have no idea about ohms . That the danger with making a tutorial video : I placed my self in a perceived position of knowledge , truth be told , it was temporary and localized . Jokes aside , maybe the great sim racing community will step in to answer . Or go join SIM RACING SETUPS on Facebook . It a great group with over 70k members . Guaranteed they will have an answer !!

Hey Thomas, Simhub is a program that interfaces between the game and the bass shakers. It basically pull out the sounds and telemetry and sends them to the shakers. Just look it up online and you'll see how many games it supports it supports a lot of driving games and even some shooting games . I think it's simhub.com . Singing does. A lot more than bass shakers. Please vist theyr website and you will see.
As for your second question... unfortunately...I don't I do dream of having one of those but they are very very expensive.

@@DaSimSimma Decided to go with 6 bass shakers! One on each corner, one under the pedal plate and one under my seat. Any recommendations on what signals to send to the pedal plate and seat rumbler? I'm thinking ABS + TC to the pedal plate shaker, and gearshifts and engine RPM + shake to the seat rumbler? Thoughts? The corner shakers will handle all the road effects, curbs, tyre slip etc...
Exactly what you suggested !! I have engine and gear shift under seat. If I had a sixth one I would do abs only . That just me ! Remember that it can only do one at a time which means if both are happening at the same time it will have to choose which one to send to your shaker . Am I blend them together honestly I'm not really sure. Regardless if you have too many signals it's not going to feel very good. Additionally, there is a checkbox that gives one thing priority over the other look for it somewhere on the right side.

Most of these shakers are overkill. The power they could put out at full blast would be way too unrealistic to what vibrations you would feel in real life.. personal opinion anyways. Thanks for the compliment and I'm glad this helped !!!

I'm in the process of redoing my entire setup, I already have the Clark Synthesis transducer from my old rig and wanted to add some to the corners without going bankrupt.
Thank you for the tutorial, this is a great help indeed. Just a small one to understand: if Nobsound can act as a sound card via USB, why do I need an additional external sound card and why can't it be hooked up directly to simhub? Sorry if that was already clarified. I did not find it in the thread.
Each noob sound has two channels and it requires one USB connection. If you wanted to power 5 shakers as shown, you would need to use 3 noobs(for a total of 6 channels) with 3 USB cable connected to your computer. Most of us already have a spaghetti of subs . The separate sound card cleans up the setup and adds all shakers to one card .it's cleaner in every sense of the way . But ...it will work either way !

Even if I have a spare external USB hub (I do) that I can put away from the computer with an USB cable, I can achieve the same clean setup right? (except that Iii will need to play with 3 sound cards not with one when configuring simhub).

Hi. Thanks for this guide. Very informative. Just one question: You have 5 bass shakers although you have 6 channels active. Why is that?
What about mounting directly to the seat? Improved detail? Less sound for wife?
I have one mounted underneath the seat because it makes the engine noises and transmission shifting. A lot of you refer to these as making noise but the reality is they don't make any noise at all they just vibrate the problem with vibration is that if it vibrates against something that's loose it will create a noise obviously. Now, everything that I have is in a basement on a laminate floor which is on top of a concrete floor. So unfortunately I'm not the best guy to talk to you about noise. Also, my sim room is highly soundproof that's the way we built it for exactly that purpose to try to isolate.. with all of that set I still get complaints about my music being a bit too loud when I stream lol
@dasimsimma Did you ever do the video concerning the effects profile settings? Thanks! Great video. I just got mine set up last night, but the sound card you referenced needs its own drivers and audio software to enable the jacks to transmit the proper audio on Windows 11, fyi. Took me 5 hrs to figure this out and it's not that easy to find. The SW is Xear USB multi-channel and you need the drivers for the C6206 chipset for the soundcard. These are made by CMedia and some cards have different chips, so check your particular one.

Hi friend ! The sad answer is ...i don't think so.... These tactile transducers take actual audio and turn them into vibrations only. That's not very different than what a speaker does, but the outcome is very different. If you were to hook these up to music they would actually make sound. It would sound really hollow. The cool part is using sim hub as a software. It only sends low frequency vibrations to it. Now, if you were to send the same low frequency vibrations to a speaker you would get similar response. But because the speaker is soft and not encased in metal like this, the membrane of the speaker was just vibrate to low frequency. It wouldn't transmit that shaking to your rig.. I hope that makes sense. Please remember I'm not a pro. I'm just some dude. Take everything I say with a grain of salt ;) ...heck , try it just for fun . Lol

On the 8020 rig, do you have any problem telling where the vibrations are coming from? Example: Can you tell that when the front left vibrates can you tell it is the front left? I was wondering if that directional feel would be lost in this type of cockpit.
@@bobboberton1841 Yes I can feel where it's coming from but side to side is not as defined as front to back.
thank you for an excellent video! Some complained that the $300 Buttkicker LFE vibration is overwhelming. How is your 5-channel setup? Does that make the SIM feel more like a real car?
Of course that absolutely helps. And the cool part about it. If it's too much, you can actually control it in Sim hub and turn the volume down independently on each one. Sometimes I adjust them when I feel like they are too overwhelming. But in general I have them set just nice

Is there any 3D printed BST-1 mount you tested? I would be happy not to bother with the wood work, but I'm concerned whether the plastic transfers vibration properly and is durable enough against vibration. On the other hand 3D mount seems to be a cleaner setup. Thank you :)
Sorry for the late reply. I actually did purchase a 3D printer and could attempt your proposal. I instantly have doubts about how it would perform just as you said : I could try to print an ABS but even so I'm afraid that it what absorb most of the vibrations. Second, I'm somewhat concerned with durability but only minimally. Stay tuned and I'll report back. I will need a bit of time to 3D prototype print try out and then make a video
Excellent tutorial. I've had two mounted (front/back) for a year now. I'm curious about your mount method with the custom woodwork. Perhaps you can elaborate a bit more on that in another video? My back one is mounted to a VESA plate under my seat and the front is mounted directly to the side frame. Unfortunately, the latter proves to be pretty weak as I can barely feel it. It was under my pedal plate, but the plate is so thick that I felt zero vibrations. Still seeking optimal placement for the front shaker...
I'm so glad that this made sense and is helping you. The best way to explain the wood mount : I basically had nothing lying around but a couple pieces of plywood so I mounted the speaker to it and then mounted the plywood to the rig. In doing so in the fact that the plywood is a little bit flexible it allows the speaker to vibrate on the plywood and the plywood vibrates against the rig. That is how I'm transferring vibrations. To be absolutely clear : I didn't do it on purpose it's just what I had lying around and it turned out to work just fine. You're not the first one to ask how vibrations will transfer. As you experienced, if you mount them
extremely securely to your frame you will get no vibration transfers ; therefore they will be really really dim. I don't think I'm going to make another video to show my shity execution so please go to my community Tab and join my discord. Someone talked about the same thing 2 days ago . But unlike you you . He. Just just assumed that I was stupid. ...lol the real reason is because I actually use my 5.1 surround sound. I have a custom-built sim room where i run surround sound and I blast it crap out of it . Unlike a lot of people I don't play with headphones , I like to feel the full-blown sound and bass from the subwoofer. Adding an external sound card enables me to retain my original one on the back of the PC
Let me export my settings but please remember that my settings will be specifically setup for a 5.1 external surround sound with six or more channels. Let me drop the configuration file on a Google drive and then share the link here. Let me know if it works . It's going to be a couple hours from now as I am currently at work

Hi, i have the exact same setup as you. However, when i activate bass shakers on Simhub, i can t have the original sound in my ears. It s either the sound is through the transducers either through my headphones. Can you help ? thank you
That is why I did a external sound card. It's very much likely that you are using your sound card to put out vibrations to the base shakers. If you do that then the sound card cannot be used to put out sound. You're probably trying to use the same thing for two different actions and it's not going to work. You have to use the noob sound itself as a sound card or get an external sound card like me
@@DaSimSimma I have one external sound card where my 6 bass shakers are connected and a ouput (headphone), my question is how to copy the sound in the transducers and the headphone without using any softare like simhub or voicemeeter. There is a jack output on the external sound card but as @masjean9811 said, the sound is on the transducers or the headphones, not both in the same time.

One question: would this work without the external usb soundcard by connecting the amps to the mainboards soundcard? My mainboard got a unused 5.1 onboard soundcard, meaning the 5.1 chinch connections are unused at the moment. Thanks again for your work!
I'm so sorry for not responding earlier. You absolutely can. The only reason I don't use it is because I actually use it to pump out 5.1 surround to my speakers in my room. But if you are not using it, you should absolutely get sound out from that and cut out the external sound card! My apologies again for the super late reply

Thanks for this, it helped me straightaway with my single baseshaker, however now with two I'm struggling a bit. With two of them, I have set one up on the brake pedal and asigned lock and abs to it. For the second one, on my seat, I've planned to do all acceleration feedback - wheel slip, TC. So far I'm struggling with the LMDH, as it's vibrating even on upshifts, even though I have only asigned the mentioned effects. Does the effect spatialisation have any influence on how the channels perform? If I have only two, should I set them to dual modes - like L/R, or F/R, or just Mono?
The Front/rear dont work for me. I use the 8 channel Setup (but actually only use 2 Channels in it)

Great Tutorial! Congrats! Queation - i read thag I can fry the transducer with the amp if I give it much power? How can I adjust that or just keep them safe? Where should I put the nobsound "wheel" on the front (i dont know the qorj for the tool in ftont of the amp). Thank you! 🙏
There are two parts to this answer. The first part is the noob sound doesn't put out enough power to fry it. The second part is i've been running mine for over two years with the dial turn at maximum. Please remember this turned it maximum you are simply telling it that it can receive all the power which it can handle. The second part which we should not forget is that you can control the volume or how hard they vibrate from the SIM hub software. So, if you turn down the volume in simhub you will get less vibration therefore it will use less wattage. To be very clear, I've been using it turned all the way up every single one of them for the last couple years. And if one of them breaks Please remember that one of mine actually broke and I have to buy another one so don't get worried, expected. These are very cheap items made in very large volumes in China so we must be aware of that.
@DaSimSimma Appreciate the answer. I might get 2 more just for safety and test variations for transducers on different places out of the corners. I bought 5xAura and one Dayton tt25 for brake pedal eventually. The dayton is 15w. Do you think I should go for full power on the amp and adjust it on simhub? Excellent video. just one small point about Sinhub, At 7:30 in the video you are setting up the abs for your car. But the red symbol of the plug with a line through it means that it is not supported in the telemetry output for that particular game. I use a similar setup in AC and it's really annoying as AC doesn't output ABS or traction control either
You are absolutely correct some of them do not support all of the features. In that instance I was just trying to give an example so I didn't even realize I was adjusting something that didn't work

You are very welcome. That is why I made the video because I struggled for a long time. The answer to your question is, of course you can use it. But imagine what happens then? If you're using the sound card to put out vibrations through your base shakers, then what actually puts out sound for you to hear? Once you use your internal sound card to put out vibrations to the speakers, then you will no longer be able to use it to hear sound out of your game. It's one or the other. That is why everybody gets an additional sound card or uses the sound card that's part of the amplifiers

Thanks for the video! Planning to do similar setup. Additionally to 5x BST-1, I would like to use Dayton Audio TT25 under brake pedal for ABS only. Would 5.1 card still be sufficient for this? I mean, can I plug it to the 2nd unused output of the "seat" amp? And then use it separately in SimHub (in your example that would be SEAT2) ?
I hope I'm understanding correctly, but in theory it sounds very doable. If your video card has 5.1 that means it has six channels. You are describing six different channels so that should work out just fine
@@DaSimSimma So I did it :) used used 6th channel to connect tt25 for abs, used 3d-printed mount for HE Sprint. Now clearly feel when ABS is engaged on the pedal, recommend it too!

Hi friend ! Good luck on your build . Ps using an external card will absolutely save your internal card so it can play PC and game volume ! You can have multiple sound cards on a PC you just have to assign them accordingly

I'm not trying to be funny. But, you could buy as many as you want.lol what I mean to say is you can definitely set it up the way I have it. Plus set up one's by the pedals. All of those different shakers can be given different characteristics or telemetry data so they will all work! But I guess you're asking when is it too much ? All the telemetry data that you would send to those pedal shakers can be sent to these. So ultimately they would feel the same. Which you have to understand is putting four or five of these on a metal rig. Could possibly dampen them versus putting two directly on your pedals where you can actually feel them directly underneath your foot. I hope this makes sense. You can do it my way plus your foot pedals. Or you can do just the foot pedals or just the way I show it. All of it is possible and all of it will give you a awesome outcome
I have very little knowledge of audio systems so all of this is a bit overwhelming for me, but your video does a great job at explaining how to set everything up. Researching all of this, I have been reading about some shaker systems using telemetry data instead of just audio, and that it is supposed to be better and more immersive. My understanding is that with telemetry you would feel things that would not have created an audio signal. My question is, does Simhub use this telemetry data? I would prefer to build my own system instead of purchasing an expensive product, but I don't want to have limitations in the data the shakers use. I hope that makes sense, and thank you!
Hi friend. The answer is very simple, my tutorial does exactly what you're asking. It uses the Shakers in simhub to do the shaking from the telemetry data not from the audio. It might sound confusing when I talk a lot about audio and audio cards and audio amplifiers but the reality is all that is setting the equipment up to receive telemetry data.! To give you an example when I had a PlayStation 4 I used to use it using the audio which was kind of a poor man's way of doing it. You came to the right place and you asked the right question followed the tutorial by the goods and you'll be one happy customer I've had many subscribers that have reported great results just as I do

Let me look into it in more detail later this afternoon as I am not in front of my PC. I do remember something odd about my seat where two channels seem to server the same purpose on the seat speaker. Maybe I hooked it up wrong ..not sure . But only one channel working for the seat shouldn't be a problem . One channel =one speaker . Is everything else working ok thought ? Is your set up working properly but it's just different than mine ? In which case I might have made a small mistake somewhere ? Let me know and I'll look into it later after work ! Thanks friend
Just a small side note. I don't mention this in the video, but for my seat bass shaker I use a different amplifier that is different than the noob sound. Perhaps in the way I wired it the outcome is slightly different than I'm explaining in the video

I hear a 2 shaker setup- 1 under seat and 1 under pedal tray does the job equally well. The 4 corner don't add much to the experience as aluminium doesn't transmit vibrations very well. Is that so? What is your opinion?
There are many factors to this whole thing but in general you are correct. This has come up on this channel before . I have my shakers mounted to plywood, and the plywood cantilevered off the aluminum rig. Trust me I can feel it . If you mount the m directly and tight to the rig you might now feel them but again...I haven't tried so I can't tell. One thing that becomes hard to tell but it's not completely gone , is telling left from right , especially in the heat of a race . Again, mounting to wood than wood to metal did it for me ( but they have to hang off a bit like a spring board )
OH MY! I had mine set up without the extra external sound card and this is completely better way of doing this (I used a 7.1), even though I have the USB ports available. This just makes for a cleaner install/setup, on the PC & SimHub. Thanks for this! I'm using 4 Dayton mini on the corners and a Buttkicker mini, center seat.

( Yes I do suggest that you get the 5.1 surround sound external card. The simplest way to explain it is that the internal sound card can now still output music and game sounds and you can now use this external sound card for game. telemetry. )
@@DaSimSimma Do explain, about the telemetry? I'm currently running 4 Pucks + 1 Buttkicker Mini on seat, 2 Pucks under pedals and 1 Mini Exciter on the brake. Can't drive without them!
Simhub uses the external sound card and all of its channels to route signals to your base shakers. Those signals are based on telemetry. Telemetry is actual information based on numbers. For example, the suspension going over curves creates a vibration up down up down up down, that turns into a vibration at an exact rate that matches. All of your pucks receive information like that from the game. Although it comes across as vibration or sound it's actual physical information from the virtual world about engine vibration gear shifting curb vibration suspension etc. So if you use an external card you're able to send those signals through all those five or seven channels and you can leave your internal sound card to actually pump out beautiful sound to your speakers. The best way to explain it is when you go over curbs it will make a rattling sound which would be extremely similar to the vibration of going over the same curves. But the two are not exactly the same thing. That is why you want the sound to come out naturally in the vibrations to come out to a different sound card slash different channel. I hope that makes sense

Is there an option to use a single 5.1/7.1 channel amp sound card device to power all the 5 shakers directly without the need for adding 3 separate 2 channel intermediate amps? 2. Can you connect the sound card via bluetooth (those w bluetooth built in) instead of the USB cable. 3. Has anyone found an easily available bracket/solution to attach the shakers to aluminum rig?
For the answer to your first question, honestly, I feel really weird about using Bluetooth for something that should react so quickly. Honestly, that additional sound card is super cheap and it only utilizes one USB. As you saw, the amplifiers have their own sound card for a two-channel each, but you don't need to plug those in reducing the amount of USBs. For your second question, there are plenty of brackets available on the internet. I just unloaded a file in 3D printer myself. Unfortunately they are sturdy enough to hold the Shakers but yesterday as I was working on my rig ice gently leaned on one and it completely snapped. So the quality and sturdiness of your print is super important

But let me put it this way, and don't hold me to this I'm not an electrician : hypothetically if you followed my setup 100% we should have arrived at the same result. Simhub will run on any PC no specs are mentioned. The load isn't that great . Another gentelman here just recently commented on using it on PC and PS5 together but he spoke of finally giving up . Maybe hit him up in the comment bellow ? He just chatted a few days ago.

just wow!!! 2 days ago I sold my motion platform, and moved to Buttkicker Plus, 450€ 🤯but yesterday after watching your video, ordered everything and hopefully I can start building it from tomorrow. first, I had to replace Dayton with AuraSound AST-2B-4, as it wasn't available, second, I got 6 of them, is it possible to do it with 6? so the sixth one is under the pedals and will connect to seat nobsound. hopefully what I am saying is correct.
Ok, first thing I got wrong was about the pedals, I wanted to put it under the pedal plate, but after reading comments, I will put behind my brake pedal, so I ordered this Dynavox EXC-25 and it is small enough to be easily mounted (ha ha easily), btw how your rig stands? I mean the layer between your rig profile and the ground, I am thinking to use the Spring Isolator, for now my rig has the rolling wheel.

My rig is also on casters so I can pull it out from the room. I like to clean around thoroughly at least once a year and then rerun my cables. I have a bad habit of continuing to buy stuff so then I have to continueasly redo the wiring. I think those smaller shakers should make sense. I actually just bought a set of pedals from fanatec and I think they have shakers included in them. I will install them this upcoming week. There's been a lot of comments below as you can see and some people allude to the fact that if you have too many shakers in your mount them to a profile rig that you won't feel anything. There's a bit of truth to that but where are you mounting and how you mount them makes a big difference. I'm able to discern where the vibrations coming from. But yes, with that many you're just going to have to get used to it. You also have to set them up properly in the sim hub software. Lastly, you sold your motion platform? Why did you do that? I'm working so hard to save money and buy one lol
What motion system did you have and why did you sell it? How was the buttkicker and did you do this mod as well?

Ohh my goodness...I have no idea ...lol I just figured out how to hook them all up and make them work. But please don't ask me the technical details and if one will work with the other, etc. It's a bit embarrassing to admit that I know how to hook all of it up with my eyes closed, but I have no idea if it's going to blow up. Sorry i'm m a bit confused . When you plug the amp into the PC via USB it should show up in sound settings. Click on it and set it up . The amp is also a sound card , do not plug that into the PC ! Otherwise it will register as a sound card . We are only using it as a amplifier. I hope I am answering your question but I don't think I understand your question. I'm confused when you say "plug the amp into it". What are you plugging the amp into? Let me know

Amazing setup, was planning on adding 2x small bass shakers to brake and throttle pedals and one of the daytons to under my seat. On a budget with this setup, Would you say it's worth it after expirencing it for a few months?
Absolutely. Anyone who feels the bass shakers has a smile on their face . This is a stupid example but. : Imagine being at a concert where the singer is singing and the band is quite . Music sounds super Acapella like something is missing. Once you add shaking and vibration , it brings the experience that much closer to real life !
Rather recommend using little controller vibration motors, there a great tutorial by amstudio

BEFORE I ANSWER : I spent many many months trying to figure this out. It took a lot of trial and error. Once I did , I figured I should share it with the world . I am not a pro , I do not know anything about audio or electric. I am simply sharing the step by step process that GUARANTEES RESULTS and the process that worked for me ! A lot of people ask questions on how to do it different ways. I am not sure I am qualified to tell you yes or no , everything i say that is different than what i showed you , is SIMPLY my opinion or at BEST A GUESS> .......So ....now .....with that out of the way ...here is my worthless OPINION : I am using amplifiers . That is what those noob sound mini amps are. Each shaker needs to be amplified to work . It would be very complicated to get signal from your pc into your denon , than out again to the shakers. i do not recommend that you do it that way . As i have explained , sim hub does the math and splitting of signals. each channel ( left right center rear sub etc is now split and each one of those signals goes to a mini amp in my schematic. The way you explain , Your Denon does amplify ...but how can you input an already split signal into and out of it ? using a stereo rca ? The signal splitting has to be done at the PC Souncard or PC external sound card level . These are somewhat complicated things to explain. But just trust me when I tell you that I did it the way you explain when I was running my shakers for my PS4. And it out put something resembeling shaking but also video game sounds .....That is the way you would do it if you were not on PC and you just wanted some sort of vibration. Anyways . sorry mate , I can only speak with certainty about the things i have already tried . Please remember : You can try it your way ...and if it doesn't work ...send an extra 30$ and buy a mini amp like I listed in the description . problem solved

I will just use 2 shakers for now. Pedals and seat so i send from simhub a stereo signal with a mini jack stereo to cinch, to the denon.

Hi friend ! I've been running this setup for at least 3 years if not longer. I do remember one of the noob sound amplifiers died on me very early after a few months. That was 3 years ago ! I haven't had any problems since ! And not to be so careless with money, but it's only 20 bucks ,if they break I just buy another one. One less restaurant breakfast on a Sunday ....a bit more fun in the sim ;)

How are you mounting them to allow them to shake as hard as they are at the very beginning? Rubber bushings? I've ran these same kind for several years in a F18 cockpit and they are powerful as hell but not shaking that hard.
Hey Nick by no means that I mean to trick anybody. It's just a editing software sleight-of-hand that makes images look more exciting. All that to say I make them shake a lot harder on the video through the magic of editing so I can prove my point that this video is about bass Shaker s shaking ! As you know you can actually feel the shaking but you can definitely never see it ! So it would be very difficult to show a shot of my feet with shakers because everybody would focus on my feet instead of the actual shakers shaking. Hope that makes sense :)

If I were to just use the nobsound usb amp and just have 2 shakers, one shaker for the front and one for the rear, can I skip the separate sound card? You said the nobsound amp can control the 2 outputs separately so I'm assuming I can just have the nobsound amp?

I’d like to do thing like this with my home theater. Any ideas on how to send an audio signal simultaneously to the sound card and also through HDMI of the graphics card?
Theoretically, you could use the HDMI into a surround sound receiver then from there, pick up the low frequency / subwoofer output and use that for your home theater base shakers.
When I'm in SIMHUB and have everything setup I can definitely feel the Dayton BS1 shakers move when I hit test. But in the game I can barely feel them. I have everything cranked and on in the "EFFECTS PROFILE."
I'm not sure that this will help but there is a feature somewhere that allows you to turn up or enhance the LFE channel. Basically referring to a low frequency. I hope I'm not full of shit or remembering something wrong but I do recall seeing something like that. In general what you're describing doesn't sound very normal. So I wonder if there's another issue.....hmmm 🤔 sorry I cannot be of any help :(
This is very informative. I do have a few questions. So the Power Amplifier cards plugs into out channels of the VAlinks USB 2.0 External Sound Card with 3 3.5mm Audio Cables. I have a 5 speaker plus subwoofer loitech 5.1 surround sound speaker system coming off pc PC sound card jack right now. So will I be able to run the 2nd VAlinks USB 2.0 External Sound Card at the same time? I know silly question but, I don't know. I would also want to try and run the seat bass shacker off iracing LFE for wheel slip but, that looks like it might be mapped through Simhub with just that channel depending how it's setup. This is great and not as much as running a butt kicker system with all 5 shakers. I just Subcribed to your channel so happy I ran across it!
Hi friend ! You are asking the same questions I did and when I didn't know anything about this topic . My fear was to purchase things that were incompatible and would have loose money as I learned .The cool thing is I have some information others have information we can all gather it together and create facts !!! Lol now back to your very simple question , the answer is : yes you can!!! It becomes its own thing ! Independent of the sound card that's powering your 5.1 system! Ps I have the same setup ;). This new sound card will not be assigned as your default communication device but it will be sitting there in the background active. Sim hub will be the only one assigned to tap into it . Therefore , no conflict ! You keep your beautiful 5.1 and gain a card for shakers !

Absolutely, but I have a small case and there's no more room for anything. I could have also used the USB hub but I honestly did not want all those wires running back anywhere so all the wiring is contained underneath my Sim rig. The only thing coming to my Sim rig is one USB plus a power strip cable :) I hope that I mentioned in the video that this is only my way. It's definitely not the only way!

You need an external card because the one you have will b used to put out sound to your speakers. I thought that maybe some guys can use headphone and use the rear sound card for the bass shakers, but I do not think that works. i used to "split" the sub out on the back of the pc to drive two shakers so you can try that, they make 3.5 splitters.
i couldn't think of a way to mount directly but i guess you just have to rack your brain and i think you can find a way ! I personally didn't find any asapters

I Went ahead and bought all 5 of them to do a setup just like yours but I have the GT Omega Art rig how can I mount them? Would you have any tips for me? Its a metal rig basically.
I just looked up your rig and was looking for opportunities. The first thing that I see is you have different options for your pedal angle. I would suggest using the unused pedal holes. I would Mount the speakers or shakers onto a piece of plywood or something similar then I would take the plywood and bolt it through those holes that's for the front. I don't have any advice for the rear because I couldn't see any pictures of your rig from the rear. But the main takeaway, just like mine, attach the Shakers to a piece of plywood and leave enough room on that plywood to screw the plywood into something else. I hope this helps if not peep my community Tab and somewhere in there you'll see a discord link to our discord channel. I am not an electrician but I can tell you that I've used both especially in the beginning of my sim setup. Should be absolutely no problem or difference in quality
amazing.....would have liked to see a couple more seconds on how you mounted them to your rig. i.e. vesa or some wood you mentioned. And judging by your accent, sounds like you are in Miami.
The best way I can describe it is imagine a rectangular piece of laminate or plywood. Screw the base Shaker directly onto that with small screws because the base shaker has four holes one at each corner. Then take this new contraption you built drill two holes into it and screw that into the aluminum rig. Got confused with the green wire. It goes out from the knob sound from the hole it suposed to get the electricity to run or from the AUX out???
The GREEN depicts the AUDIO OUT Wire!! Tan Is for power. Pause the video and look carefully so you can gain confidence in what you're doing. Let me know if you need any help !!

Could you please confirm if it's possible to utilize the onboard sound card of the motherboard if it supports 5.1 and 7.1 and has an adequate number of outputs?
Of course you can, but as we discussed many times in this comment section : If you do that, then the PC audio there for the game audio will have no way out. Which means all the sudden you'll get vibration but you will no longer get audio from the game. The audio card can only do one thing at a time

It absolutely works with the internal sound card. I think I mentioned that in the video the problem becomes if you use it to put out vibrations what do you actually use to hear the sound of the car? Once SIM hub takes over the card you're not getting sound out of it you're just gonna get telemetry and vibration to the face shakers

Hmmm. That sounds very high in my opinion . I didn't spend 800 dollars for my set up. Do some research on Amazon and you can quickly go with the most affordable option. Good luck friend
Got the BST1, 5 of them, i am using your tutorial to set them up.
The thing is that i messed up the amps hence i got ones that are only amps without sound cards,.and the 5.1 soundcard is a small usb model. I have tried to set them up, but for same reasons only the USB is working, and the pc audio souns card is getting disabled.
Can you explain how to have both pc sound card to play games or pc sounds, music etc ans the bass shalers to do their intended job?
Every time i try, i end up heaving only one of them working.

The shake MUST BE AMPLIFIED! they cannot be powered by a simple audio wire...so you will need one NOOB amp. As I seen the video that a also a sound. So all you need is that . You can plug it into the wall and into the shaker to power it. Plug the USB in. The PC and go to sound settings to set it up . It will be recognized as a two channel sound card LEFT AND RIGHT. Therefore ...you might as well buy two shakers..cause the amp will be amplified and ready to send a stereo signal . Then go inside simhub and assign this new sound card as the default

All you can do is give it a try. The first portion is 100%. Yes the second portion. Can you use headphones? I don't know. I just have this sneaking suspicion like that audio card that outputs on the back is the same one that controls the signal to the headphones. But, I honestly don't know everything. So go ahead and try and let us know what happened

Yes. But then you can't use it to output actual sound. It will be bass shakers or sound output but not both...this...the external soundcard. Ps there might be a way in which you can use headphones only but I can't confirm
I'm thinking of doing a setup with rumble motors for the pedals and 2 bass shakers around or under the seat. Do you think something like the bass shaker mount from trakracer would do the job well?
I never knew they made brackets but I just checked them out. If I knew they made those I would have bought them ...lol so...I personally would be all in. They made heavy high quality stuff !!!

Yeah, TR have some pretty cool stuff, I really liked their pc shelf, but unfortunately it wasnt big enough for my case,, but I managed to make a DIY shelf using their profiles and its really rock solid, also if you're considering getting something from them, It might be worth it to wait for black friday, I got a 160 cockpit with a 30 to 40% discount!
