Always impressed at just how good Matt's content is. He avoids hyperbole and always gives a very accurate assessment. Vicariously.enjoy the drift boys visually more, but not sure which is best overall.
At last! A proper Maserati supercar again. I'd choose it because it is as good as it looks and BECAUSE it's not a Ferrari. Nothing against Ferrari, but this will be rarer and stands out from the crowd
I really do enjoy your videos, Matt. They're an informative stream of consciousness that's calm and concise which makes them very easy to watch. Well done. (Car seems fab too...)
I’d go with this but to my knowledge their not priced closely. The pricing makes the 911 look like a bargain and the Ferrari’s/Mclaren’s a worthy upgrade. Should’ve been cheaper.
@@Chris.Davies but the 911 Turbo s has nothing special yes its ludacrisly fast and comfortable but so is every other porsche but you could have more fun in this, in a way that it is more dramatic and fun you could make an entrance in this,(probably not in the porsche) and dont say rELiaBiLity iS bAD, Maserati knows that if they want ot sell a major flagship you to make stuff that works so that's why they made a new engine (ps: I'm not a Maserati fan boy i just like this one alottt) Anyway Mr. alexander i think you took the right decision, and enjoy your car ;)
@@sridharyarlagadda7730 You've completely disregarded the 911 GT3 RS. A manual version with that naturally aspirated 9,000rpm howling demon is about as raw as it gets. Not all 911's are the same aside from the silhouette.
Thank you Matt for this review, i agree that this car was supposed to be an Alfa Romeo, the engine, carbon tub, steering, even when testing the camouflage was Alfa Romeo, its still a stunning Italian supercar 🇮🇹
This is the upgraded V6 version of the 4C a special car in its own right. I LOVE the styling, Italians make the best looking DRIVERS cars on the market hands down.
Thanks Matt. Great review. Really enjoy your even-toned and undramatic review. Have heard great things. Wondered at the price point if it should have been a V8 however Maseratti do have a strong leagacy around V6s and forced induction V6s. Will be keen to see some comparisons. It IS a lot of money for a Maserati BUT is appears to be aimed right into the supercar market. Time will tell just how successful Maserati will be with this car. Good on Maser for coming back with something interesting.
I just don't get how some people can actually hate on the New Maserati's. Are they Ok? Ever since the GranCabrio they have made consistently quirky and stunning cars. Yes, even the Ghibli. And yes, there's still a reason to why Bono approves of the brand.
Hi Matt what's up ? I just noticed u uploaded a Maserati mc20 video I was driving I pulled my car to watch it I couldn't wait that's ur impression and impact on me I m ur die hard fan well done bravo 👏 greetings from Toronto Canada
Excellent review but the car should have been developed as an Alfa Romeo seeing as only the engine heads are unique with the block seemingly very similar to the Alfa/Ferrari engines. The exterior is beautiful and elegant but the interior does not make the grade for the asking price with attached cheap screen, and for a v6 with a carbon tub weighs far too much, 1500kg kerb, compared to the Ferrari F8 quoted at 1435 Kerb with an ali chassis and a larger v8 and way more power.
That is one very special looking car. More on the luggage capacity would be nice please. It has a Noble look about it but at 200k or so it needs to be very good. My guess is it won't disappoint.
why it needs to beat anything?, you will feel more of a driver if it does?, if you will have more real skill if it does?, your ego is so easily bruised if it doesn't? The turbo is a great car, arguably, best performance car for the money and 99.99% of road drivers woud be faster in one but.. for the looks, for the style, for the driving experience, it will place last in any top. To put it in a more plastic way, driving a porsche is like driving a really good germanic car.. like a superior Audi of some sorts(I'm reffering to the way it feels, not the way the car handles), while driving an italian car puts a effin joy and a smile, not only on your face but in your heart and soul as well; from the little 500 cabrio, through a spider, different alfas and up to a ferrari, the driving experience feels special, feels heart warming. Not better than germanic cars, just different...and different is good, is very good. In the end, even if we cannot afford 200k cars, we should celebrate the fact that they exist and congratulate the ppl who buy them as they are ppl with big hearts that have the courage to go beyond the safe choices... probably that's what made them successful enough to afford a 200k car in the first place; as a personal opinion, I'd love to see an alfa of this kind.
Matt, thank you for this review/preview of MC20, it seems like this is going to be an amazing car. I like everything that you said about it, it looks very classy and way more elegant than Ferrari or Lamborghini and it will probably age much better.
Another cracking video. If I were in the market for a £200k mid engine supercar this would absolutely get my money based on looks alone. I think it’s absolutely stunning, the fact that it’s also a belting drive merely cements the choice. I sadly wouldn’t touch a new hybrid McLaren, not until their reliability reputation is better and I think the styling is too derivative with the rest of their range. Don’t fit in a Huracan and the F8 is fugly. Now, just need to find that other £190,000….
If nothing else, it will get by on its looks alone. Even if it isn't technically as "good" as some competitors, it's a brand that has a lot of value - historic, exotic, and a mystic of its own - and it looks incredible.
What on earth is going on with the launch of this car? People have taken deliveries and they're already being sold second hand yet reviewers can't get them or they do but are told that they can't test or compare it. Maserati are really serving up a masterclass in ballsing up a launch.
Old time Quattro Porte owner here. I still remember the joy and excitement of getting my car delivered. However that joy quickly diminished after the car ran into all sorts of mechanical problems. Owned the car for about a year. For 300+ days the car was in the factory for maintenance/repairs.
Great review. I feel a lot of F-type vibe in it....perhaps it is approaching that same place in design. It is light like an A110. It does, however, cost way too much for what you get and for what the brand has in terms of reliability reputation.. It should be 150k dollars. Think Alpha 4c but bigger engine/more power..... It doesn't sound that great.
I am a bit concerned by supercar makers like McLaren, Lotus and Maserati drip feeding the public with their latest models. The Artura should be been tested by the press by now and I don't see very many track tests of the Emira. Now here is Maserati saying don't do comparisons, don't take it to the track, etc. Shows a lack of confidence in their product, IMHO. I have no regrets that I bought a C8 Corvette. Drives great and works just as advertised!
I love the purposeful design, it's looks very set to go racing. Whether that will appeal to a lot of people who'll be in the market at this price range (is it flashy/fashionable/dramatic enough?) is tbc I guess.
Great car, love the steering wheel design and could imagine twice more versions easily over time 1. More “luxury” GT (Mac Laren already got such version) 2. A hardcore more track focused special. I’m not a sold on that blue color, hope there are options. Center screen design and sound might be the two most negatives about it, looks really good and would love to see it next to a Porsche Turbo S and/or others. I must salute the host for his growth in video car presentation - this is getting very good and the knowledge is undisputed, thanks a lot 🤟👽👍
It seems like more exotic option to the Audi R8. The Maserati GranTourusmo was a great GT with outstanding Pininfarina styling and Ferrari V8 engine, but was left without replacement for too long. I think the MC20 with another name, the GranTurismo, the Quattroporte and the Levante is a good lineup for Maserati. The Ghibili, I don’t know, perhaps should be an Alfa Romeo or a Lancia and better executed.
Your videos somehow are better / much better (like this one) on you are on your own...just food for thought. Great stuff from Maserati and in the absence of a manual at least they have the paddles in the right place: on the steering column...you listening Porsche?
first! finally a car magazine that has a release for this car, its rather strange launched completely under the radar, where people took delivery before the influencers/reviewers got them!
Like the rear, and the profile, but not too sure about the puffy cheeked front. They should ditch the reference to 50s and 60s sports racing cars and draw inspiration from sleek front 70s ancestors a la Bora and Merak.
Their is just so much 4C on this car. Same windscreen, same roof, etc etc. This would have been the new 6C with the leftover chassis's from the 4C. How much I love the Maserati brand and logo, the much I hate to see this car as a Maserati. This is a Alfa Romeo in all its vains. But it do is drop dead gorgeous. The best thing Stellantis can do is to make an Alfa Romeo version of this car, despite how much canabalism it would do in the same company. Alfa Romeo deserves this car, the 4C deserves its big sister. Would love to buy one
Based on looks alone, it's already beaten all the competition for this year. Nothing but praise for this beauty.
Always impressed at just how good Matt's content is. He avoids hyperbole and always gives a very accurate assessment. Vicariously.enjoy the drift boys visually more, but not sure which is best overall.

I really like it. Great to see Maserati back to making great sport cars!
At last! A proper Maserati supercar again. I'd choose it because it is as good as it looks and BECAUSE it's not a Ferrari. Nothing against Ferrari, but this will be rarer and stands out from the crowd
Same here.
Im in love with this car, since back in the time it was suppoused to be Alfa 8C.
And the engine sounds GREAT.
@@benkrapf Lets be honest, the engine sound is the cars only downside, and it sounds terrible for a supercar.

😍😍😍 Never been a fan of Maserati but this one converted me.
Never seen the GT from the late 00s?
I’d have a hard time deciding between this and a Turbo S. Giving the edge to this because of how genuinely beautiful it is. And the doors!
