I've never really been a big Maserati fan overall and always valued Ferrari a lot higher but the MC20...definitely THE one Supercar atm in my opinion. Stunning to look at, phenomenal techwise and finally a Maserati that is worth the badge again!
I agree. Maserati is one of those companies that I'm shocked has survived because who the hell actually pays the abominable brand tax they command while putting up with the terrible reliability and eating the massive depreciation? The MC20 is definitely a "We are here" statement and I hope it's a turning point for the company.
@@Ham1001dy because it doesn’t shout “brash, WAGS or footballers” it classy and yes people will let you out at a junction whereas in a Ferrari or a Lamborghini they stick the finger up to you
Saw it in the flesh for the first time yesterday, such a beauty, living proof that modern supercars can be amazing. The interior is a bit of a letdown, maybe in a brighter spec, it'll look much more premium. The noise is alright, its going in all the right places, the exhaust just needs a bit of tinkering. Wish this bodes well for the Maserati brand, they have the potential to be the Italian Porsche, hope that PSA/FCA merger is gonna take the brand places.
Yeah Maserati is the perfect brand to contrast Porsche but it's been grossly mismanaged. Ideally it should have gone along with Ferrari when FCA IPO'd it
The guys at Alexanders are Legends. If I ever am in the position to buy such a vehicle as the Maserati I’m going to them for their support of your channel. Great video Sam
Loved this review, the MC20 is definitely the rebirth of the Maserati brand. I think with an aftermarket exhaust system better sound would be archived and the ears would be much happier…… Also big shoutout to Alex, super chill dude on camera, love his energy. If I lived in the UK that where I would shop for my next car for sure. Great video, well done Sam!👏🏾👍🏾
Regarding the boot... the MC20 probably uses FCA electronics, so the car needs to be in Park before you can open the boot. I think it's a safety thing, as you can't accidentally open the boot while in gear. Also, no one can open your boot while you're sitting in traffic and steal your luggage LOL
This is what all car reviews need to be like, genuine excitement, real reactions and gratitude for being given the chance to drive these cars. Other RUclipsrs need to learn from this. Well done STG your smashing it 😁
Love the video Sam. Saw an Mc20 on the road here in Chicago and it looked awesome. The sporty but elegant design will age quite well. The road presence was off the charts.
What a beautiful car, saw one this morning at a car meet and was rather surprised by the deep rasp of the V6. Love the content as always, keep up the good work🙌!
I own a late Merak SS and have learned the MC20 90 degree V6 is somewhat of a continuation of that old design. They sound incredibly similar as well due to that unique firing order required for 90 degree V6. Love the lineage.
One of very few midengined cars I like the design on. I actually saw a camouflaged Roadster on the A1 between Bologna and Modena 4 weeks ago. Looked good, was driving so I didn't get a picture. Nice video.
I fucking love the MC20 - it looks incredible and I REALLY want to drive one. I'm sure the noise can be helped a bit with an aftermarket exhaust but it's a limitation of the engine sadly
It really is a lovely bit of design. And honestly from outside that engine sounds kinda fun to me. More than anything though, those wheels are *stunningly beautiful*
In a world of increasing horsepower, crazy aero, and barely legal street tires, this car is refreshing to see. The styling is gorgeous, it's fairly practical, and it looks the part of a supercar. It's crazy fast, and while it isn't designed to set lap records it is designed to put a massive smile on your face and keep it there! It's not cheap, but if I had the means to be after a car in that price range the MC20 would certainly be a top contender.
I’m getting Alpine vibes at the rear (mainly the tail lights) and f-type vibes up front. The blue looks great, looks like a close match to the blue Lotus are offering in the new Emira
Maserati I remember used to produce some of the supercars that everyday wealth would purchase for you back in the day. They then decided Luxury sedans were the new thing. As a owner of one of the more benign sedans the 4wd was sure footed and i felt handled like my Porsche turbo but not as fast. The interior is covered by luxury leather and fabrics throughout however. The total package was fun to drive with a very sport sounding engine. It was not a typical sedan it was a sedan that sounded like a ferrari. The brakes were excellent and the power was fun but not outstanding. The devaluation was disastrous but after owning one I understand why people put up with the value loss. Unless you have wealth you probably will never own one. But you will miss a sublime experience as when you talk to people everyone will ask you about it. Maserati is a universal WOW.
Much better visual presence than the McLarens, love it. As always I think that motoring journalists are just a little to obsessed with the exhaust sound, sounds fine as is….
Gday Sam! Such a lovely car indeed. Maserati are back better than ever. Gorgeous as ever. I'm about to get coffee in my new car too, a w201 190e 2.5 Cosworth
First Maserati I would consider buying. The car reminds me of a 4C (they should have called it the 6C and I actually think a potential Alfa supercar got scrapped in favor of this MC20). Just need to put on an aftermarket exhaust and the car is a 10/10 (novitec has one coming I believe). The looks alone are an 11/10.... also nice moonwatch on Sam.
The 6 cylinder an exhaust sound probably is the reason its passed over but when someone straight pipes it maybe does a cool wrap an some wheels that fix the gap an fitment it will go from boring to badass with just a little bit of help. I really like the MC20 an thats what id do .
I drove this car for thousands miles aswell as the F8 Tributo. Believe me, this feels so much better to drive. You can relax in gt mode, play a little and cruising at high speeds in Sport mode. When you hit Corsa mode, all hell brakes loose, the car becomes a sharp knife, you can point the nose in every direction with super precision and at speeds exceeding 300km/h (which this car reaches so easily) you feel planted, in total control (not like in the F8 where the steering wheel feels like in city mode). This very car is what you need if you like minimalistic things. No super luxury show off interiors (yet the quality is top notch), no complicated hybrid mixing. Just a carbon tub, an engine, 1300kg car with 630hp (which might be 660 cause it’s just too fast IMHO). Ps: the brake pedal has that racecar feeling because you have to use your left foot on it, it was done on purpose to make you use your left foot on racetracks. With 30min training you could use your left foot even in traffic environments. It’s the same feeling you get on go-karts
I would love to see someone do an exhaust upgrade on one and have you re-look at it? You must be able to unleash a bit of noise out of it, even if it's a 6 cylinder, I believe. Even Novitec tried and It's still not blowing me away.
Paul "it feels like a really powerful 4c" well you aint wrong there, this was ment to be the 6c actually. But last minute it got a maserati badge placed on it. Sad how no one seems to know this of the journalists
When it looks as good as Monica Bellucci , carries that Maserati badge and goes like that, ( and IMHO ) sounds perfect without that shouty “I’m here “exhaust note ; to me it’s the perfect supercar…..Maserati , I think , is more exclusive than its main competitor. What a piece of mobile art …….
Put an exhaust on it? Also good to see Paul on the channel, feel like we need another group road trip....perhaps in new daily's if Paul ever gets a new one.
I also have mixed feelings about the MC20. Front and Side looks very good, rear... not so much, missing a wing or at least some ducktail thingy imo. Engine seems very powerful and i love that its so rev happy, sounds really not great especially thinking of the 296GTBs V6 noises. Thank god i can not afford it anyway 😂
Interesting about that chassis pump at high throttle. I think I've seen other reviewers mention it too, like its got so much power that it can overwhelm the chassis, which is scary but adds excitement. i wonder if maserati did that on purpose
excellent video as always STG. Car is glorious. Slightly dissapointed by lack of reiew of the boot(S) though...please can you ensure to include this key element of consumer advice in reviews going forward. #Bootgate
The reason this car is so similar to the 4C is that it is the spiritual successor to the 4C. Built at the same factory. Some have even suggested it was originally born to be the 6C.
Love the video as ways. Genuine question - can somone please explain to me how Alexander prestige buys a car from Maserati at list and then sells it for a profit? How do these dealers get stock and sell them with a profit margin?
Looks incredibly fast. Does seem very sedate in other modes (Has to be for those pheasant’s). That coffee ☕️ looked great. I need to try and hunt for some non run of the mill coffee places.
I had one on demo for a week although it grew on me. It felt like a 570s and this one listed at 250k. The engine note is like an old school chipped diesel. Luggage space is rubbish and above the exhaust so everything is red hot. Good video though. My summary “good at 150k but never 250k”
Sam I've been telling you to get into one of these. The MC20 for me is a really refreshing sports car and unpretentious with it, maybe that's why I like it so much. The big question for me is this; should I win the lotto would I buy one of these or spend about the same on a Roma?
You and Paul are such a comedic duo 😂 This was very entertaining and such an interesting video, I want an MC20 now !
Looove these supercar coffee runs. Don’t ever stop making them! 😄
I've never really been a big Maserati fan overall and always valued Ferrari a lot higher but the MC20...definitely THE one Supercar atm in my opinion.

This Maserati is the most bland looking Maserati ever, why does this one outweight Ferrari in general? 💀💀💀

It looks more like something Ferrari would come out with. No badges on it and I would for sure think that.
Instant smiles when you and Paul are together :-)
That was so funny. Crying at corsa mode. 😂😂

I hoped so too, but even when pretty much straight piped, she sounds like an EQ 😞 Imagine this setup with the GranTurismo's NA V8! 😍

I think it is a stunning car. Andrew is a great recurring character on the channel.
This was pure gold Sam pure gold was great to see Paul too - Really loving this channel recently, just perfection!
Is this built on the 4C tub? The structure inside seems very familiar.
That just looks and drives sublime, I didn't think it sounded too bad. But what a car for the price tag.
I look forward to your Getting Coffee.. episodes.... makes my day... Give me more!!!
Great video Sam. Love the addition of Paul lol. You two make a great team.
Test driven one of these myself and liked it much more than I expected!!!
Andrew has to be the nicest geezer ever!! Sam is doing well to have an alliance with him!!
It would be a great comeback for you, the chassis pretty much comes from the Alfa 4C with modifications

I think the missing piece is indeed that screaming engine note but I'm sure there will be aftermarket solutions to that.
