Who is SmallmouthCrush?
Travis Manson was born and raised in Wisconsin. He started fishing from the bank at a young age and spent most of his childhood with a rod in his hand. Travis is primarily a self-taught angler that is always learning and experiencing this amazing sport of fishing. He started out fishing for walleyes and fishing in local walleye tournaments, but then in his mid 20's, he caught the BASS BUG and has been hooked every since. He competed at the highest level in bass fishing on the Bassmaster Elite Series for a number of years. He is a full time fishing guide offering trips on the Chesapeake Bay for largemouth bass(year round) and trophy smallmouth bass guided trips in Upstate New York on Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence River. His RUclips Channel is named after his passion for the smallmouth bass and will be used as a platform for "how-to" videos, on the water instruction, crazy on and off the water topics and vlogs on the day in the life of a fishing addict! Why does the video start at the 30 minute mark? It says its 4 1/2 hours on the link but when I play the video it says it ends at 4:00:04 and it starts at 30:00. Just wondering if it's on my end or what. Awesome videos though lately by the way!! I've been watching live for a while at night then watching the whole thing the next day, probably watch this one a few times lol I dont drop shot much so this is awesome, keep it up man!👍👊🎣🐟

Great show guys! What are your thoughts on using a Major Craft Don Iovono Custom Finesse baitcast rod for drop shotting (6’ 10”. extra fast. 3/16-1/2 oz)? I’m gonna give it a try.

Travis I know you use a 7 foot rod for drop shooting, what are the advantages / disadvantages of longer or shorter drop shot rods?

I dont believe that knot has a name in the fishing world. It was an incorrectly tied San Diego Jam Knot. To tie it correctly you have to put the tag line through the bottom loop before you put it through the top loop. Travis just put it through the top loop after making his wraps. But doesn't really matter cause it works great for him. Great info guys love the live shows!

Conditions dictate what equipment I will use. Whether it is a spinning rod, my high speed baitcaster or my braided line on the heavy rod. Then the environmental conditions where the fish are posted up at will tell me how to present my baits to them. You have to be flexible and diverse if you want to produce.
