I have made dozens of crib sheets for my grandkids and for gifts. I find that sewing a channel and threading the elastic through works more easily for me.
I just searched for a video showing how to make a cover for a crib mattress and found yours. Wow! Thanks so much. I hadn't planned on putting an elastic under mine but when I saw how easy it looked, I took a trip to the dollar store and bought a 10 foot 1/4 inch elastic and it was the perfect length for two covers. I have a mini crib (38 in x 24 in) so it was the perfect length. They look fantastic. Thanks so much for posting this video (2 years ago but still working well).
I have two grandbabies and lots of friends having babies, can't wait to make these for them with my huge stash! I was also about to look for the measurement calculation for a changing table pad and you so wonderfully provided that too. You're an excellent instructor, I hope to see a lot more tutorials by you, thank you so much, great job!
I watched 3 of your tutorials today and I have to say that you are a really good teacher! So easy to understand! You did mention you are going to write the formula for any size sheet in the description and I don't see it. I would love to make my own set of sheets as it's so difficult to find all cotton sheets without paying an arm and a leg for them! Keep up the good work and welcome to MSQC! P.S. Don't pay attention to the haters! If you don't have something nice to say then just keep it to yourself! You have the option of not watching and you can see from the beginning it's not Jenny doing the tutorial and it says it's for kids items! Whew! Some people!!!
Thank you, Jean! It doesn't look like that got added to the description, but if you watch the video at about the 16 minute mark to the end, I share the math for how to figure it out. I want to use some extra wide backing fabric to make my own sheets too!
You are an awesome teacher ❤. I love this tutorial and will be making this project. My neighbor recently fave birth to a beautiful little girl. So I think she would love something pink. Yeah
I have always enjoyed the MSQC for every project !! Please help me with my problem!! I am making fitted sheets for an oval shaped mattress/pad. It measures 16"x 31" X 1/2" deep. How many inches should I add to ensure the sheet remains underneath the pad & how many inches would be the "corner" cutout I hope you can help me. Thanks.
Hi, you explain really well. I prewashed the fabric ( cotton ) , take the selvages off and now have a 41 - inch wide piece of fabric What should I do? Sew some cotton all around the perimeter to make it 44 inches wide? 🌸🌺
That's definitely doable and another great way to make them. With my three boys, the sheets wear out before the elastic! It just gives me an excuse to make new cute sheets!
So if i wanted to make my own sheets with quilt shop quality cotton fabric, what would the thread count be? Im wondering if they would hold up over time enough to justify the cost
Since fabric shrinks quite a bit when you wash it have the fabric measurements got shrinkage factored in? I prewash everything due to allergies so what measurements should I use?
Guess I am just being dense..you said measure and add 3 times the height...mine is a pack and play so 1 inch height.. so 37 length plus 3 x 1 for height is 40...so when I take the drop of 2 inches off when putting it on and sew the elastic in I don't have anything to tuck under....do I...? I know I am being dense, but don't want to waste this fabric. This is very hard to explain....sorry for the bother! Thanks for the video..I enjoyed it.
Why an 8" square cut out on the corners? How did you come up with that measurement? I can a mini crib or side sleeper and is only 2 or 3 inches thick. What size square would I need to cut out?
Well, I think this should be maybe on a different channel. Not really interested in so many of these on one day. Looking forward to all things quilting , but non of the sewing for kids are interesting to me.
I have grandchildren ranging from high school down to infant. The nurseries are pretty well equipped but I like the sheets. My daughters & I can make them using whatever specialty fabrics the kids want. If you don’t want to watch, no one is going to be upset.
Dont watch then? Plenty of other people are interested in these projects, just because you don't like them doesnt mean they can't be posted and enjoyed by others.

So happy you made this video. I can now make sheets for our GREAT grandson.

What a great series! This would be fun for your own children, but these projects are also great for gifts. Quick and easy. Thanks!
I absolutely love the way to explain everything in detail and not rush. You are an amazing teacher. I am going to make some for my grandson.
Love that you used French seams
Sheetastic! Thank you💙
I’m going to make these for my cushions in my camper van, thanks for this!
This is much simpler than the tissue pattern I used to use! Really enjoyed all your tutorials! Hope to see more! 🤩
OUTSTANDING!! You are a natural instructor!
French seam is a great idea!
My goodness that was amazing
Fitted sheets are so easy to make. Thank you for these clear instructions. Hugs.
Thank you so much. Seems so easy to make one.
I love her classes.
Very well done. Clear conise and easy to follow.

Just love this
Super video. I hope to accomplish this for my bed. Excellent teaching. Wish me luck.

Excellent tutorial!! Thank you so much!!😊
This was great! I am definitely going to have to try this!

This was great
This is a great video and content.
Great video! I think I can make one now 😄
So many cottons are 41 - 43" wide and not 45". Will that not be wide enough?
So does anyone know the length and width of the sheet? She doesn’t have it written in her bio anywhere! I know she said 68” but what’s the width?
This is good to know :)
This is great but I think I might prefer a fabric casing so the elastic can be replaced easily.

This was great! I do have a question though. Do you sew through the elastic or are you zigzagging over it? Thanks!
Can I use 1/2 in elastic???
Since fabric shrinks quite a bit when you wash it have the fabric measurements got shrinkage factored in? I prewash everything due to allergies so what measurements should I use?
Great tutorial! Did you use quilting cotton?
Yes! This one is quilting cotton, but flannel works great too!
What type of needle with sewing elastic? Sharp, ballpoint, etc
Where is the formula? She said it would be in the description
Are you sewing through the elastic??

I believe she did 8 inches square bc her mattress must be 8 inches in height/thickness. Yours would be 3 inches square for the three inch thick pad.
Can't you just make a casing and run the elastic through?
could this work for any size sheet
Yes! I share the math for that at the end of the video. You could use extra wide backing fabric to make larger sized sheets!
The measurements used in this video
Prewash first or it may shrink and not fit
Well, I think this should be maybe on a different channel. Not really interested in so many of these on one day. Looking forward to all things quilting , but non of the sewing for kids are interesting to me.
Skip over them. Easily done.

@@C.Woodford I agree!
