      Gotta argue. It's a thing of 'what does this remind you of," but I will say that there's a thing about Sturgill's voice that is just unique. It can remind you but I think it's important to NOT tie someone to someone else...to admit that this is a primary sound. That was probably aggressive, but I just wanted to make that point. We still love the song.

    Sturgill Simpson has the ability to change a single song in such a way that it becomes almost unrecognisable, by adding instruments, changing tempi and modulation or speed. Moreover, he's created a separate recognisable sound for each song. He reminds me very strongly of J.J. Cale. A higher compliment cannot be given.

    When a soul speaks like his does. It makes you want to speak the same. I'd love to show the world how my soul feels. Sturgill has been so inspiring in the last years of my life. Connections are deep. Lyrics cut even deeper. Inspiring at the least. Maybe one day I could make the same connections as he has. Let alone the jam's to this session. It feels like someone is on my shoulder to fulfill greatness and fulfill other's connections to a sunset of feelings lowering through the window of their living room. It's weird how you have a feelings of where you belong. My goodness Sturgill has gone in all the right directions. God Bless.

      Nothing dramatic about that . He speaks almost directly to my soul as well . Not with his lyrics , just with the beauty and passion that pour out of every performance he gives . Vocally of course and through his guitar equally of course .

      yeah, but it may be best that we help his genius stay out of the mainstream while still earning a nice living. Let artists be artists. He is surely one of the best. Most never imagine this concept. Anyway, just a thought. Y’all have a nice evening.

    • @ball8182
      @ball8182 2 года назад +1

      He isn’t one of these industry plants like you hear in country music today. You can hear him talk about stuff like that in his song, “Life Ain’t Fair and The World Is Mean”. On the radio, you hear all this pop country horseshit. Not to mention, his Metamodern Sound and Country Music album talks about drugs, life not being the greatest, and past hardships. Not many stations want that type. This nice blues/rock and roll type country just isn’t wanted by mainstream music industries. His music sort of reminds me of Johnny Cash. Sturgill is really the only country singer I’ll listen to that still surprises me with his style.
