If thats possible the drop dash would need to be timed perfect to give the boost exactly when the saw comes up, but I belive the speedboost would run out before the saw disappears
If you're ever looking for a future Sonic game, I'd go for Sonic Rush. It's entire gameplay is based around the Boost mechanic (I think it might be the game where the boosting originated from?) and barely anyone has done any challenge videos on it so you'd be one of the first. Blaze the Cat has a hovering ability with the R button if you need extra mobility. Also it's my favourite Sonic game and is super nostalgic to me so if you played it, I'd be very happy :)
The spindash does not use ZR, so you're clear to use that if you unlocked it. It instead uses ZL. However, it may count against the challenge since it goes into the boost meter
I honestly thought that Big's fishing game was enough to make any self-imposed challenge possible as you could just buy everything the challenge prevents you from getting... wouldn't have thought that a giant chainsaw was the only thing in that way of that being true. It was definitely a pretty creative video as always, very enjoyable. Another idea I could suggest: Beating Enter the Gungeon with only the default Gungeoneer's gun. Unlike many roguelites, ETG can be beaten without obligatorily grinding upgrades on runs, if you are just skilled enough to dodge anything. So if you only deal damage with the default gun on the character you choose, you can actually get to the end if you know how to dodge everything... it's just very hard. The default guns also have infinite ammo too so that's not a problem.
There was a way to skip past the chase at some point, but I believe it was patched. I could be wrong though (about the skip being patched, not the skip itself, that was most certainly a thing), don't quote me on that.
@@SonicTheKaijuMobian1991 Yeah, I forgot about that part when I initially posted this comment, but by the time I remembered I was like "eh, somebody probably pointed that out in replies already, so I won't bother". That and I forgot about this comment to begin with :/
it upgrades your base boosting speed to but most people don't notice because they always have max boost and fully upgrade their speed level before testing it out
Would changing the game to Easy mode during the Knight sawblade chase change anything? Seeing how you resorted to changing to Easy mode later into the challenge to alter your path.
AKA Can you beat Sonic Frontiers without Fun? To that the answer is no, because the soundtrack itself is just too good to not have fun with. Though boosting is a massive component to this game being so fun.
It's disabled in the escape sequence for knight and the spindash would work, only thing is I don't know if he would personally say it's against the rules as even though it doesn't use the boost button it still uses the same meter
This may sound stupid, but is it possible that the saw blade functions differently in any way using easy mode? Like you can take multiple hits, or it's slower, or something like that?
Since it wasn't banned, I assume drop dash could have saved you from the chaos island chase.
If thats possible the drop dash would need to be timed perfect to give the boost exactly when the saw comes up, but I belive the speedboost would run out before the saw disappears
cant you spindash too?
@@alasonic1281 spindash isn't unlocked until the last island.
I was thinking if easy mode would make it possible

Oh man, sonic rush is so great
I second this! Great game, great music!
I think I actually beat all of the stages without even knowing the boost existed when I first played it, I like how they didn’t make it mandatory
Indeed, Sonic Rush introduced the boost
Also Sonic Rush is so good

It sucks how he did this right before update 3 came out.
I was just thinking about you and then you uploaded. What a coincidence!
7:07 or upgrade your speed stat?
Only this man is able to define video game laws
I wonder if easy mode changes the escape sequence from the saw?
the soundtrack of this game is insane, i love sonic soundtracks
oh also 3 & Knuckles w/o pressing right is always a good one. Just. Make sure you're knucklehead.
Awesome! Maybe you can do a DLC challenge with the new updates next? Kinda like with Kirby, that could be neat!

It Wasn't Patched But You Need To Boost A Minimum Of 4 Times To Achieve It

"You're too Slow!"
ah yes, playing a modern sonic game as if it's a classic sonic game.
So… what about final horizon?
Spindash from the new update and dropdash would probably make this challenge cake
Upgrading your speed couldn't have helped because that's actually upgrading your CLIMBING speed, which is just stupid.
It's not just climbing speed, test it yourself.
it upgrades your base boosting speed to but most people don't notice because they always have max boost and fully upgrade their speed level before testing it out
Hey CMeeCraft, what do you think about the lastest update? I personally like it.
I wonder if the saw is avoidable on easy
Can you do this with the update 3 story?
Isn’t there a glitch that makes Sonic jump super high which makes him able to skip the chase with the saw?
You need to boost to do it
@@xlaxsp oh okay

damn you, beyblade!!

Why does your game look so good? What LUT mods you got?
in case you’re on switch, i’m not joking
I don't think i saw you use the Drop Dash. Maybe they could be used to overcome that one time you had to boost?
It's disabled in the escape sequence for knight and the spindash would work, only thing is I don't know if he would personally say it's against the rules as even though it doesn't use the boost button it still uses the same meter
now do the new story without boosting

Of course, one of the worst sections of the game had to ruin the challenge.
A Video!
