Tutorials are often a problem when doing self imposed challenges in games. Especially if they're the kind that literally won't let you leave unless you fill out some counters for completing a certain action enough times.
@@nintendoboy3605 that doesn’t mean every Kirby game is possible jumpless if you can only get past the tutorial in one 2d Kirby game. Forgotten Lands is 3D which already makes it more possible because of more movement.
I think you should cover Nightmare in Dreamland jumpless to complete the Amazing Mirror/Nightmare in Dreamland/Squeak Squad trilogy. Someone else suggested Mass Attack... with only jumping because you can move by flicking Kirbies with the stylus.

I would like to see a tornado banned version of this challenge, there are several other jump replacements that didn’t even get mentioned and it would be interesting to see a challenge redone with the op power removed
Squeak Squad is easily my favorite standard Kirby game to play thanks to just how much freedom the bubble mechanics give you. Man do I wish this was a thing in other kirby games
this was my favorite kirby game as a kid, i'd always have all 3 save files 120% or whatever the full completion was and when i got bored i'd delete one and do it again
oh god, Kirby learned the spinjitzu, everyone will now fear Kirby the tasmanian puffball because he's the reason how Alise got to the wonderland. I think I still got a bit more references up my sleeve.
I did this challenge myself. And I got the same jump total as you did. I actually went one step further and tried to 100% the game jumpless, which is possible by bringing better abilities in bubbles into other stages. And my final total… 119/120 chests. There is one that I believe is straight up impossible. The wheel level in Secret Sea. I tried my absolute best, and I even used turbo buttons to see if there was any benefit, and it just simply was not fast enough. If anyone who’s better at the game than I am wants to take a crack at it, be my guest.
I can confirm the very same results. I, however, prefer Fighter over Tornado due to a funny combo I discovered in which you can chain the rising kick back into a Vulcan jab.
@@waffledoctor87 Fighter is a really good ability for this challenge. Specifically in Squeak Squad, though, Tornado is extremely strong. Not just for platforming, but for boss fights as well. Since Tornado isn't very good in a lot of other Kirby games, I like to give it a chance to shine in Squeak Squad.
I think it would be funny if you did Kirby Star Allies without any friends. It simulates real life perfectly. If you have to make friends, then it can be a run where you make as few friends as possible.
There’s also have to be planning like if you want to keep certain friends for later, or if there’s a way to skip something. And even if friend abilities and doors are the only required parts for friends in the main game, then he can try and get all the collectibles with as little friends as possible.

good video, loved seeing sqeuak squad (or mouse attack as i know it) as it was the first kirby game i played. only complaint i have is that it felt like once you got tornado that was the video over, it would have been nice to see some other copy abilities that are more uncommon ones like ufo or cupid as iirc they allow you to just fly freely, but i totally get not just swapping out copy abilities without knowing they're good because that could just make the run much more tedious to play. It could have been nice to maybe even have some sections for heres some alternative abilities you could use?
Tornado is broken in this game casually, _especially_ if you get the ability scroll allowing it to absorb elements for even more damage while invincible, so is it really any surprise that it's even more broken in a No Jump challenge?
Just want to say that there is a glitch in the final daroch fight that I always use in boss endurance runs. If you drop and inhale your ability but do not swallow, then grab the triple star, the game will load you with triple star, BUT with your previous ability still in your mouth, simply swallow and bam, back to tornado spamming. Good if you don't have a backup bubbled ability
But hold on a second! There's an alternate game mode to Kirby Squeak Squad unlocked after getting all the treasures, where you play the whole game again in a speedrun context to obtain all the chests! In that game mode, you start with the first level of each world unlocked for free! Perhaps that will prove possible in fewer jumps than 5?
I mean, by the same logic, he could do the same with Meta Knightmare in Planet Robobot, Dedede's Adventure (Albeit, that'd be rather pointless) in Triple Deluxe, or any random Guest Star in Star Allies instead of the main game.
So once you get tornado through the result of a copy ability mix tornado carried you through most of the game with only a few challenging moments resulting in a short video? I swear this is Star Allies/Bluster Sword all over again.
Yeah my favorite one in this series was the mirror one since it forced him to keep switching back and forth and try different things. resulted in a very interesting video. I really love these routing challenges where you have to find the optimal path through the game.
@@tekbox7909 I can see why that would be your favorite but honestly my person favorites are return to dreamland and forgotten land. For the Forgotten Land one CmeeCraft used only 3 abilities for the majority of the challenge being sword, tornado, and drill yet they all had their own usefully skills and purposes making each one useful in their own way. Sword was useful for getting across vertical gaps. Drill is good for getting across horizontal gaps that are a bigger height than the platform you're jumping from. Tornado is good for even bigger horizontal gaps that are the same height/lower height from the one you're jumping from. The low number of useful copy abilities combined with different reasons for being useful made it an interesting watch. Plus 5 of the 6 forced jumps are because of mouthful mode so there's really only like 1 jump that CmeeCraft couldn't do as normal Kirby.

I think the reason that most older kirby titles end up with less required jumps than the newer games is because there wasn't as much of a gimmick concerning kirbys moveset. The newer ones had stronger but less mobile gimmicks, while older ones just had harder to find jump replacements with less changes to kirby. That's probably why you were able to get through the game mostly jumpless, because you had options at all times. Also FL was probably easy because a more prominent gimmick would take away the aspect of playing 3d kirby in general, so mouthful mode was used less prominently, therefore making less required jumps.
If it isn’t a problem, might I suggest Mass Attack for the DS? I know it won’t be jumpless since you have to flick the Kirby’s to destroy some blocks, but you can grab all of your Kirby’s at once to reduce jumps. I would love to know the minimum!
Personally my thought is instead of jumpless I want to eventually beat mass attack by *only* jumping. So you just have to fling your kirbys around everywhere with little control
If you don't know, Sample (the guy who did Kirby Super Star Ultra with minimum(it couldn't be zero) jumps) once had to deal with multiple mandatory jumps in one level, which he passed off as being two A-presses total, since when you press A in midair to hover, you can apparently just hold up to keep going. It might be against your rules to do something like that, but it's an idea, unless, of course, the game is one that needs you to press A for that.
I'm aware that's how many Kirby games work, but I figure since pressing up to hover is mechanically identical to pressing A to hover that there's no point in distinguishing between the actions.

@@nightmare3642 No. The only things that get ludicrously broken in Kirby Squeak Squad are those that are attacked by Tornado Kirby. Tornado Kirby generally doesn't break at all.
I like the montage however I think I would have at least liked a level counter as we went though it so I could see which level we were on, as I don't know how many levels are in each world of the game

he disallows hovering because it very obviously defeats the entire point of the challenge (ie: if you hovered you jumped) i guess *this* is why people need to copy paste their rules list for every single video in a series...

The official rule of Kirby games is to not press the button “jump/hover” aka A, and in the hover tutorial he jumps, then hovers to get over it, which is 2 jumps, if he slides into an enemy and hovers before he hits the ground (not 100% sure this is possible) and then held up, that is not violating the rules and 1 jump less.

I used fighter for most main levels and only used tornado for bosses. I think that's the most fun way to do this
To be fair, it is Squeak Squad. Beating a game full of mouse thieves needs at least a little cheese.

Tornado isn't the only ability that snaps the game in half. I'd argue Hi-Jump does an even better job at doing that.

That's impossible, there are many parts of the game that require friends such as Friend Doors and Friend Abilities
If not then lowest amount of friends made. If CMeeCraft has to jump it becomes a low jump run.

So to summarise this challenge, it’s basically just jump tutorial -> useless copy abilities -> fire -> mix -> tornado -> tornado -> tornado -> tornado -> tornado -> tornado -> tornado -> final level forced ability with no replacements -> bubble -> tornado

Kirby: Superstar Ultra has multiple modes/Storys if you want another mini-sode option along side GuestStar allies

he disallows hovering because it very obviously defeats the entire point of the challenge (ie: if you hovered you jumped)
i guess *this* is why people need to copy paste their rules list for every single video in a series...
@@edenengland1883 yeah jumping is disallowed too but he still jumped cuz he had to. The official rule of Kirby games is to not press the button “jump/hover” aka A, and in the hover tutorial he jumps, then hovers to get over it, which is 2 jumps, if he slides into an enemy and hovers before he hits the ground (not 100% sure this is possible) and then held up, that is not violating the rules and 1 jump less.
