Awesome video, dude. I loved Squeak Squad, so it was kinda cool just seeing someone talk about it. The Squeak Squad showing up whenever I grabbed a chest always seemed like such a tense moment for me, I dunno why. Also, thank you for the Mappy shout-out. One of my favorite arcade games.
Sorry if someone's already pointed this out. I don't think it was either squeak or squad that was offensive in Europe. It's the abbreviation of SS, which I think had something to do with the Nazi party.
I'm fairly sure it was a joke. I know Americans like to sneer at Europe, but names of games get changed in different regions for all sorts of reasons. Most likely there's an obscure cartoon or toy called something similar to Squeak Squad so it was easier to change it. Or perhaps they just thought it would be harder for non-anglophones to pronounce.
I can completely admit to the existence of this game’s many flaws, and can completely understand your opinion on it... But Kirby Squeak Squad was one of the very first video games I *ever* played. I loved this game to death when I was a wee lad, and to this day, I simply can’t part with it. My copy of Squeak Squad is one of my most cherished of items, and though I can totally step back and see it for what it is, it just doesn’t make a difference to me. It’s my favorite Kirby game, bar none, simply for the fact that it means so much to me as an icon of my childhood.
I agree that if you break down the game in terms of (video game) aspects, then squeak squad definitely isn't the best kirby game. But the overal experience is just fantastic especially for a game out 2006. It had cool/creative level designs, it had a lot of "customizable" features such as color, ability etc. The worlds looked cool and simple. Not to mention it has the best soundtracks in my opinnion (but thats subjective I guess). Pretty much every kirby fan has played this game who wasn't like born after 2005. And rarely did everyone find it a "boring" as long as it came to casual gaming experience, and I think thats what most kirby games try to offer. But yes nostalgia is also what makes us love this game.

"Squeak Squad" doesn't tell non-English speakers much about the game, while "Mouse Attack" does - most people know the word "mouse" (thanks to Mickey), and "attack" is a recognizable word, used in multiple languages across Europe. On the other hand, "squeak" wouldn't have meant much to me back when I'd barely started learning English. And as for why they changed "squad" - Mouse Attack rolls of the tongue better, I guess? A lot of name changes are made to be more recognizable, more understandable, easier to pronounce for some, more memorable, and more indicative of the media's content.
Spoon It doesn't tell you much about the game? "Squeak squad" is the name of the antagonistic group, the entire game is about them. Thats literally all you need to know about the game...
Despite being my absolute least favourite Kirby game (that I have played, anyway), I'd say this game still gets a solid 6/10. Mostly from my dissapointment at how buggy Ghost is. Though now that I think of it, what Kirby game is worse than this? They've ALL been consistently good. I honestly cannot think of a bad Kirby game.
TackyRackyComixNEO Ghost was an interesting idea, though I feel helpers are easier to handle then controlling every enemy in the game, excluding bosses and mini bosses, still an ability we might see again who knows, UFO got redone so it didn't have it limitation it had as well, both ability had there buggy points.
***** Difference is, helpers didn't apply to basically every non-boss enemy in the game. There were only a very limited number of helpers in Super Star, and the way they functioned wasn't exactly the same as how their enemy AI functioned, but rather akin to basically being another Kirby who can't fly and has a permanent copy ability.
Well, I liked Mouse Attack. I don't exactly know why, but I'm not trying to convince others. Also, I don't think "Squeak Squad" is offensive, but for me "Mouse Attack" just sounds better.
I bought this game by mistake because I got the loose cartridge from a pawn shop. It never did, and I ended up playing the most generic Kirby game ever.
I know you think this is an "okay" game, but I think it is great! The sqeaks are cool, treasure collecting is enjoyable, and the bubble mechanics are great! He really only said negative things about it, but keep in mind that he likes Kirby, so all the good things about Kirby still apply to this game. It just doesn't really have much else going for it.
i just realized the most amazing thing they could add to a kirby game gameplay wise is to combine the ability storing mechanics in this game and the ability combo mechanic in 64
Out of all the Kirby games in the main series, I found Squeak Squad to be the most disappointing entry. The new Copy Abilities range from pretty solid with Animal and Bubble to horrible with Metal. I also found the soundtrack to be one of the weaker ones in the series, but it's still pretty decent, especially the Squeak theme. Speaking of the Squeaks, I found them to be lacking as far as antagonists are concerned. Kirby antagonists aren't usually that complex or anything, but I was excited to see baddies that kept appearing and could stand out, but if you're good enough, you can outright ignore them by not having your chest taken. One positive aspect I will say about Squeak Squad is that I really liked the item inventory system, even if it does slow the game down sometimes. I also think Squeak Squad is a pretty solid game to introduce someone to the Kirby series, as it's probably the most by the book game in the series. While I still think Squeak Squad is decent, I find it to be a pretty disappointing entry in the series. I'd rank it above the original Dream Land and Dream Land 3, but I think Amazing Mirror beats SS just be a little bit. Still a fun game, but not the best in the series.

He said he didn't hate the game but he maid it seem like the game was bad
Made*
He just said it was his least favorite. That doesn't mean it's bad
+SandWich HQ oh ok
He really only said negative things about it, but keep in mind that he likes Kirby, so all the good things about Kirby still apply to this game. It just doesn't really have much else going for it.
Who wants to see a 3D model of Daroach?
there is one now.

Youre wish has been granted
FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE COVERED THIS GAME! This game doesn't get any recognition and its nice to finally see it mentioned.
2:19 *gasp* Waddle Dee, the baddest of all for stealing Kirby's cake.
2:04 Huh, no wonder Kirby attacked Dedede.
am I the only on who would use the metal ability and just cheat through the game?
its weird he hasint don a kirby rom hack video or a crossover video yet
i just realized the most amazing thing they could add to a kirby game gameplay wise is to combine the ability storing mechanics in this game and the ability combo mechanic in 64
King Dedede throwing Kirby at the Squeak Squad? GENIUS!

Awww yeah my favorite kirby game!
One day in middle school, I got bored and completed this game on all three DS save files in like four hours.
My first Kirby game, and because of that, my favorite of the bunch. And I fully recognize that’s completely because of nostalgia
