Fire and Burning are both completely different attacks that both do a fire related attack while Circus and Magic are both 2 different unrelated things. And also fire and burning only really do a single attack while Circus and Magic are full fleshed movesets.
Spark was absolutely _broken_ in Return to Dreamland because you could charge it just by shaking the Wiimote instead of mashing the D-Pad, granting you instant full charge projectiles for you to unleash whenever you want.
i'd argue plasma is just as good in the wii and wii u ports of super star where you can charge it with the analog stick with lower mashing thresholds than ultra
The best Kirby copy ability is Falco's Laser in Melee. Firing lasers with knockback almost faster than Fox is insane, and if Kirby ALWAYS had this ability, he'd arguably be mid-tier, not second- or - first-worst.
Squeak Squad was the first Kirby game where you could take UFO out of the stage and it was also not that hidden as it occasionally appeared in the game
I would like to focus on Sleep (and it's upgrade, Deep Sleep) for a moment. For Kirby and the Forgotten Land, not only do copy abilities exist a while after being dropped (making it viable to juggle), but Sleep got buffed since you heal while asleep (and there's a time frame you have before you fall asleep with the non-upgraded version), AND the upgraded version can heal more health quicker and a boost if you can sleep full-duration (Attack up, Speed up, Extra health bar). Combine those two facts together, and Sleep as a whole moves up from F-Tier to easy S-tier.
ESP is actually one of my favorites. It IS annoying being vulnerable while remotely attacking, but there is just something satisfying about hovering in the air while navigating a pulsating ball of death around the area and through obstacles. Also, the delayed teleport dodge is broken and does a lot of damage.
Parasol is my favourite copy ability due to the defensive capabilities and how you can use it to twirl enemies and make them into projectiles to damage other enemies. Plus, it's one of the few copy abilities along with sword, hammer, spear, ninja and water that kirby can use underwater.
10:55 funnily enough, despite being so weird, circus is one of the best abilities for arena/ true arena speedruns. The Trampoline move is stupid powerful.
i also like slight attempts to give sleep an actual moveset in squak squad it'll heal you when upgraded and return to dream land, the sleep bubble is an attack you can also mash/shake to wake up faster
There's actually a third place where you can get paint in Kirby Super Star Ultra it in the final boss fight in the True Arena and using it basically does nothing so it's actually a dirty trick to get you to lose your copy ability and grab something that's completely worthless in that fight however just like I love using sleep for an obstacle I kind of really love that use
They should remake Kirby’s moveset in smash to utilize more of these abilities. It’d be so refreshing to have a beam shot or a leaf attack or something like that.
Squeak Squad is my favorite Kirby game and I was so upset when drill Kirby got announced for forgotten land as it’s just animal but way more basic and generic…..seriously if animal doesn’t make it in it’ll be such a missed opportunity as the main antagonists are literally called the beast pack!
Didn't stop Amazing Mirror from not having Mirror Kirby But yeah, shame that Animal, like Paint and Cupid, probably won't be brought back and upgraded and instead be replaced by something similar but not quite the same...
I think if "Leaf" was called "Plant" instead it'll probably be better because it will have more useful and creative moves. For example, Kirby could use a blowgun, swings from a vine, use some herbs to make a mixture that could poison enemies/heals allies, hit the opponent with a huge tree, etc.
Paint has one benefit over other one time use abilities and it's that it paints over the Heavy lobster's eye making the boss unable to track kirby's movement, and the chameleon boss is painted a color to keep it from turning invisible. That's the whole purpose of the ability.
For wing, I HAVE to say something : the dive bomb is just INSANE against bosses, dealing damage 4 times (if used in the boss, so use i-frames), and also against doubles bosses because of the little wing chocs on the ground allowing you to deal damage to both bosses at a time, or you can combo dive-dash-dive or just spam dives for boss destruction. What I mean with this message is that wing deserves a better placement IF you used it as much as I and others did, because it packs a BIG punch if used well.
Ranger: A It's great...it is a very strong long ranged ability that offers a quick basic attack, a really powerful charged one, that changes depending on which upgrade you're selecting, a close-ranged shotgun-like arial and even a really good counter attack... It's wide moveset makes it very useful in both normal and boss stages It has it's own puzzles and it's really fun to use Drill: C It's basically an improved version of animal...it's a good ability...but it is just...a bit too poor...I mean...it offers like 2 attacks... I like it's own gimmick and it's quite fun to use...but that's it...
Ranger is an easy S rank. The damage is good but it can attack bosses on the background. It's avoid and counter is the best in the game. If we were to include the evolved versions, Space Ranger is outright broken.
Circus is actually my favorite copy ability. I was trying Planet Robobot's True Arena and couldn't pass Mecha Knight, then I tested out a random ability and got all the way to sectonia. This ability was Circus and it became my main ability for the true arena ever since.
I would absolutely love it if you made a ranking list on the mix abilities from Kirby and the Crystal shards, that was the first Kirby game I ever played so seeing a list about that game would be very near and dear to my heart
Great list. I was thinking all throughout “when is yo yo going to come??. One very old trick from the original NES game: if you absorb two enemies at the same time, you get a “mix”. If you don’t press any buttons, it will stop by itself on UFO, making it “less rare” (provided you have situations where you can inhale two enemies).
Honestly, Light is a downright tragic ability. The other useless abilities, Metal and Mini, are at least somewhat memorable for how terrible they are, and don't really feel that neglected. Copy and Ghost are neat concepts that focus on showcasing a concept instead of being actually useful abilities. But Light is only usable in TWO rooms in the entire Kirby franchise and has nothing else going for it. It's such a nothing copy ability that you could effortlessly retcon it out of existence, and RtDL gave its only defining use to a held item and to actually good abilities like Fire and Spark. It's actually a memorable copy ability for me; I remember it for being forgettable. But no, the _true_ tragedy of Light is that it brings the idea of a light-based copy ability into the world. There's a lot of usable concepts for its revival, like giving it the fireworks or lightsaber from Kirby 64, secret-revealing qualities like the lightbulb abilities from the Dark Matter trilogy, or merge the one-note Laser into it. Heck, just giving Kirby a move where he opens his mouth and a beam of light comes out like a spotlight would be really cool! Or make his hat just a pair of sunglasses! But sadly Light is so forgotten that I don't see it getting any sort of revival unless another Copy Ability poll happens and it manages to win by some miracle against all the uncommon abilities like Ball that people actually like.
after Kirby and the forgotten land, and by extent, deep sleep, sleep Kirby would be at the top of any tier list. It's barely a contest. It's so broken it makes any boss trivial and any level take a minute max.
Honestly I really hope we have more then 12 copy abilities in the game as 12 is so few especially for modern Kirby even for a brand new 3D game as they have battle Royale to draw 3D movesets from
One thing I like is that with the possible exceptions of Light and Metal, even the weak abilities do something to make the games they're in better. Sometimes that's just being a weird little novelty, like Circus or Artist, but that's okay. Not every ability *needs* to be a staple, sometimes giving Kirby a silly hat and some goofy moves is just fun.
Fun fact about Whip in Star Allies, you can become completely invincible if you use whip tornado (the down up b button presses) back to back, as kirby's I frames last even as he hits the ground again. You just have to do the input as soon as you hit the ground I learned this when I decided to do soul Melter ex with every copy ability Haha. Similarly Suplex is also completely invincible when repeatedly hitting a boss with the dash grab. He has I frames when he bounces off the boss, and you can just hit the b button again to initiate another invincible grab
Because he was going to be in House MD season 9 and copy House's ability of being a vicodin addicted cynical ass who walks with a limp who also is a doctor and has a very unorthodox way of solving problems.
i have a case for copy 1: in milky way wishes it basicly just defies the gimmick of finding abilities 2: in helper to hero (i dont know if T.A.C is in HTH so im basing this on a guess) you can just play as a de facto kirby similar to what you said about coop mode
Needle is actually very viable when running the ultimate cup. Actually, all ability is viable in that game and it was a blast doing the cups as different abilities. In fact, whenever I see sleep in the copy pedestal in between matches, I am honestly excited since free heals and buffs. And yes, it can also appear in ultimate cup z.
I became a fan recently with kirby and the forgotten land. It was higher quality than many of the games I played that were released in the last few years. I haven't beaten many others so far, but the next one may be the one with all the mini kirbys as I played it recently, either that or planet robobot which I got recently.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Forgotten Land committed a sin by not bringing animal back in the game which literally is about animals, and then introducing a new copy ability to do something they could've easily modified animal to do. SUCH a missed opportunity.
Amazing Mirror is and always will be my game! So I’m very partial to missile because it’s so fun to just fly around at high speeds, even though it isn’t very useful on enemies. I also really love fighter and archer (and ranger from forgotten land now, too)!
Beam attack is one of my personal favorites, when I play kirby with my cousing, we use beam attack a lot, not only do i like it of how it works, it also brought my favorite kirby meme
Poison was my favorite ability to use in the true arena in robobot. It was just very satisfying to lay traps on the enemies while they were offscreen. For them to land on those traps when they showed up.
Parsol is one of my most favorite copy abilities that Kirby has and I was super devastated when it was revealed that it wouldn’t show up in Forgotten Land…
I have a few ideas to make *Light* and *Copy* useful again. *Copy* : Kirby scans certain things, that makes a copy of that thing. If he scans an enemy or certain boss or certain bosses' attacks, it'll make a copy of them that'll run the direction Kirby's facing willy-nilly barging and attacking enemies with no mercy until it runs out of health. You can even hold the attack button to keep the copy in stasis until you want to activate the copy. You can move all the copy ability is in stasis. If this sounds broken, you're welcome. *Light* : Even in the dark, Kirby makes a light that's _so_ bright, that enemies try to run away. Once you have them where you want them, you'll finish them off with a Flash Beam, Flash Bang, Flash Whirl or Flash Quake! Once again, broken. I'm a merciful guy, so I couldn't resist trying to revive these guys.
UFO is maximum. Back in the day, it was really special because it was very rare but you could be sure that it would surprise the crap out of you when you accidentally swallowed two copiable enemies.
I would put sleep Kirby in c or b because of its improvements in forgotten land where you heal from it and gain a stat boost. I would also put needle in c cause of its forgotten land appearance. Also High Jump is C to F tier.
22:19 let me get this straight. You prefer freeze over ice. Even though ice has longer range and both starts and ends with ZERO LAG. I get that the abilities were merged later down the line but in KA specifically.
A lot of the A and S tier choices are also really high on my list but my top 5 specifically is different. 5: Wheel While it’s only really good when the level is built around it, when it is, it’s probably the single most fun ability imo 4: Wing It’s mainly this high simply bc the speed it grants. While abilities like Beetle and Jet also grant faster flight, particularly vertically, Wing’s horizontal flight speed is unmatched. Combine that speed with some really fun attacks, including the original Shuttle Loop which would later become the single most fun attack once Meta Knight made it his own, and it becomes my favorite movement based ability. 3: Smash This is here for a lot of the reasons you gave. Versatile, really fun references, and an absolute treat to use whenever you can get a hold of it. 2: Spear The Spear/Waddle Copter really improves this ability, but it’s speed and range even without that move is still such a joy to use. It’s a shame Kirby hasn’t been able to use this ability in like 9 years, but Bandana Dee proves that this ability is still an absolute blast to use. 1: Sword This is my number 1 bc it’s my go to. It’s just such a fun ability to use. Good speed, range, and power. Great combo trees. An ability that’s ever evolving, getting a new move in almost every game it’s appeared it. Top it all off with being one of the closest abilities to it’s source material outside Smash and maybe Fighter, and you get my favorite ability in all of Kirby
My favorite Copy Abilities are Leaf, Circus, Animal, Spider, Artist, Yo-yo, UFO, Wrestler, Ranger, and my favorite Tornado. Really nice choices you have there I’m glad somebody likes Tornado but hit them with the Yo-yo man. But thanks for the video Silvery and everyone have a AMAZING DAY and God Bless Happy Gaming.

in squak squad it'll heal you when upgraded
and return to dream land, the sleep bubble is an attack
you can also mash/shake to wake up faster
There's actually a third place where you can get paint in Kirby Super Star Ultra it in the final boss fight in the True Arena and using it basically does nothing so it's actually a dirty trick to get you to lose your copy ability and grab something that's completely worthless in that fight however just like I love using sleep for an obstacle I kind of really love that use
Yeehaw indeed. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on how many of these have changed in Forgotten Land
They should remake Kirby’s moveset in smash to utilize more of these abilities. It’d be so refreshing to have a beam shot or a leaf attack or something like that.
Or choose which ability you want!
he's a beginner character but he could definitely stand to replace final cutter and maybe use abilities for his smash attacks
13:38 Technically it does not appear in every game. Because of the fire for some reason being split up it actually been replaced by burning two times
tornado, for 11-years-ago me at least, was a bit too chaotic to control, but in forgotten land it is excellent
Awesome. I was relieved to see yo-yo at the top. I love mirror and beetle, but nothing comes close to how fun AND satisfying yo-yo is.
Didn't stop Amazing Mirror from not having Mirror Kirby
But yeah, shame that Animal, like Paint and Cupid, probably won't be brought back and upgraded and instead be replaced by something similar but not quite the same...
cool video i hope nobody plagiarizes it
My favorites are fighter, wheel, tornado, hammer, archer, spear, staff, sword, yo-yo, jet, and ninja.
"Stone is one of my most used abilities for boss fights and the arena"
A man of good taste I see. They say hammer is the best but I'm a coward
Paint has one benefit over other one time use abilities and it's that it paints over the Heavy lobster's eye making the boss unable to track kirby's movement, and the chameleon boss is painted a color to keep it from turning invisible. That's the whole purpose of the ability.
Ghost was honestly my favorite in squeak squad, I think I used to look at it more like a challenge run for most levels.
Ranger: A
It's great...it is a very strong long ranged ability that offers a quick basic attack, a really powerful charged one, that changes depending on which upgrade you're selecting, a close-ranged shotgun-like arial and even a really good counter attack...
It's wide moveset makes it very useful in both normal and boss stages
It has it's own puzzles and it's really fun to use
Drill: C
It's basically an improved version of animal...it's a good ability...but it is just...a bit too poor...I mean...it offers like 2 attacks...
I like it's own gimmick and it's quite fun to use...but that's it...
i think drill is b, because being fun to use is the most important part of any ability. no higher than that though.
Ranger is an easy S rank.
The damage is good but it can attack bosses on the background. It's avoid and counter is the best in the game.
If we were to include the evolved versions, Space Ranger is outright broken.
@@sonicthehedge the charge up time holds it back in the postgame fights. youre better off using cutter, hammer, or sword.
just dodge roll. the slowdown lets you do so much damage if you mash b
Circus is actually my favorite copy ability. I was trying Planet Robobot's True Arena and couldn't pass Mecha Knight, then I tested out a random ability and got all the way to sectonia. This ability was Circus and it became my main ability for the true arena ever since.
You mean you got all the way to Star Dream?
I love how yoyo, whip, and staff all mirror eachother with the v^b combo
no doubt stolen from terry bogard's rising tackle
I would absolutely love it if you made a ranking list on the mix abilities from Kirby and the Crystal shards, that was the first Kirby game I ever played so seeing a list about that game would be very near and dear to my heart
I couldn’t agree with you more. Poison is in my top 5-3 abilities in design. Plus, it’s fun to use and it’s strong!
I would never have thought that my favorite ability (stone) would be so high.
My list definitely differs a lot. Wasn’t expecting stone and tornado to be so high
I didn’t agree with the 1st best until he said Kirby had a backwards hat
"Sleep is useless"
Kirby and the forgotten land: helo.
(Normal sleep gives 50% health after sleeping, and deep sleep gives 100% health back)
it also gives speed, power or health buffs. that stack
@@spaghettiwhip2000 Sleep/Deep Sleep is op.
Metal > Stone on the principle of being able to move, alone. I'm amazed Stone is so high. For the most part I agree with a lot of your choices though
Thank you for putting Yoyo as the number 1. Always has been my favorite and I'm always hoping for it to be in future games.
Finally someone else who agrees Tornado is broken af.
Especially in Forgotten Land.
storm tornado goes on forever, and the whole ability keeps you at the same level, so you won't fall into bottomless pits whilst using it
I think Tornado has just always been broken. It's the best ability in Adventure playing casually and speedrunning.
Why does this sound so strange?
"But I actually like poison more than water" 🤨
Honestly I really hope we have more then 12 copy abilities in the game as 12 is so few especially for modern Kirby even for a brand new 3D game as they have battle Royale to draw 3D movesets from
One thing I like is that with the possible exceptions of Light and Metal, even the weak abilities do something to make the games they're in better. Sometimes that's just being a weird little novelty, like Circus or Artist, but that's okay. Not every ability *needs* to be a staple, sometimes giving Kirby a silly hat and some goofy moves is just fun.
Okay how is ninja in b tier
I know; it's so busted in the right hands.
Fun fact about Whip in Star Allies, you can become completely invincible if you use whip tornado (the down up b button presses) back to back, as kirby's I frames last even as he hits the ground again. You just have to do the input as soon as you hit the ground
I learned this when I decided to do soul Melter ex with every copy ability Haha. Similarly Suplex is also completely invincible when repeatedly hitting a boss with the dash grab. He has I frames when he bounces off the boss, and you can just hit the b button again to initiate another invincible grab
why does medical licensed kirby wear his jacket like that
now go take a nap. great vid and to deserve to rest. :)
Because he was going to be in House MD season 9 and copy House's ability of being a vicodin addicted cynical ass who walks with a limp who also is a doctor and has a very unorthodox way of solving problems.
@@themodernholmes1735 oh!
i have a case for copy
1: in milky way wishes it basicly just defies the gimmick of finding abilities
2: in helper to hero (i dont know if T.A.C is in HTH so im basing this on a guess) you can just play as a de facto kirby similar to what you said about coop mode
I agree 100% on needle but I’m glad to say forgotten land actually made it good and fun to use
Now we need a Kirby forgotten land evolved ability tier list
2:41 It actually has a niche in that it lets you actually see why those scarfies dont let you inhale them. Turns out they have the crash ability
One of the reasons I like epic yarn so much is that it's like having the yoyo ability the entire time lol
Tornado in the forgotten land is even more broken
Poison was my favorite ability to use in the true arena in robobot. It was just very satisfying to lay traps on the enemies while they were offscreen. For them to land on those traps when they showed up.
Suplex definitely deserves its ranking, at least I’m super star it’s one of the most powerful abilities in the game, it’s absurdly strong
Forgotten Land Needle wants an apology now!
(Great list btw)
i have to say that cupid is absolutely adorable
this vid goes hard, good job
The fact the first ability is remade in forgotten land is humorous
Yes.
I'd say my favorites are water, leaf, fighter, and needle. Though I will say that feather got me through some tough battles in return to dreamland.
24:50 in every game in which it appears, fighter has an incredibly useful jump replacement. the rising break
A lot of the A and S tier choices are also really high on my list but my top 5 specifically is different.
5: Wheel
While it’s only really good when the level is built around it, when it is, it’s probably the single most fun ability imo
4: Wing
It’s mainly this high simply bc the speed it grants.
3: Smash
This is here for a lot of the reasons you gave. Versatile, really fun references, and an absolute treat to use whenever you can get a hold of it.
2: Spear
The Spear/Waddle Copter really improves this ability, but it’s speed and range even without that move is still such a joy to use. It’s a shame Kirby hasn’t been able to use this ability in like 9 years, but Bandana Dee proves that this ability is still an absolute blast to use.
1: Sword
This is my number 1 bc it’s my go to.
So happy to see yo-yo being number 1! I use this ability everytime I see it, it's so cute and fun
This is a great video!
Yeehaw.
