The winds are not as expected, but we make it do - after all, it’s only an overnight sail.
Since we are about to meet our friends on Aquarius in Barcelona, we are again on a schedule - it’s another 80+ miles to Barcelona and we got to go…
We will not be sailing much in Spain as it’s getting chilly, especially at night but most importantly - it’s not the easiest place to find suitable anchorage - the coast is pretty straight without bays and islands - which is quite rolly - but the coast is absolutely spectacular!
And booking marinas for a couple of nights at a time becomes quite costly even in the low season - we opted for a monthly contract.
therefore - we soak every minute of this beautiful sail…

Great channel and always variable and enjoyable .
I am a sailor ( in a classic 1974)
Many years of experience and I can remember the worst experience I had .
Your engine room reminds me.
My yacht is Dutch and the engine room is lined with the same foam “sound proofing material”
A few years ago I had an electrical short and fire!
This material burns like hell ( if it is the same stuff)
I was lucky to extinguish it through the fierce fire and plastic smoke.
I ask you to remove a small piece and see how it burns.
You may thank me if it is the same as I had?
I had a small fire in the engine room. The stuff didn't burn, it slowly melted. If it did burn, Aquarius would not be here now.
That sounds ok, but it looks very similar.
Did the flame actually touch it? Or was it next to some hot wires and just melted?
Incidentally following your recommendation I bought one of those orange fire hoods with the respirator. Good advice. Peace of mind.@@SailingAquarius

Yea, I think Ken is a lucky man. I didn't use to think the admiral so lucky but I now think that you have both matured for the better.
I also think that you should change your sign out. Back when you first used that Z was a really nice boat chick with a cute form of English. Now she is a really sophisticated lady with great English and your sign off should reflect that.
