Ronny and Torben have one of the best friendships, I enjoyed your banter a lot. Kept spilling my beer because I kept chuckling at your jokes. Torbs is a humble, funny and just an all round nice bloke. This is the best modified episode IMHO, wish you guys all best. Stay safe. Regards from England.
I went and bought my travel buddy off the two old legends in Bendigo!! What a brilliant product, they were flat out but took the time to show me around. They are so proud of the product and rightly so its a game changer for us:D Ripper truck Torbs!!!
Love this rig. Great set up for long distance travel, camping, fishing, exploring & getting away. Has a lot of awesome creature comforts, really no need to come home.
The boys slowly getting lit as the video unfolds 😂 great episode mate! I would love to see a more in depth video of the electrical system as I've just done a secondary battery set-up myself, but this is on another level so it'd be great to learn some more 👍🏻
I want to see how the box comes off for work hauling, connections, electric attachments. Trying to design a flat bed for work, drop on touring pod. If he's done that, please show.
Out of all the 4wd shows i have seen travel buddys you guys are the 1st i have heard talk about the people how make it just me i like hearing about the people behind the products
Leave it to the Aussies to produce the Travel Buddy. Something you don’t need, but I must have one!!! Wow such an awesome build. Every time I watch Ronny’s videos I get pissed off that California won’t allow the import of diesel Toyota’s because I would love to have one. Best of health to everyone in Australia! Cheers gentlemen on a great rig walk around.
You guys have way better rigs and kit than we have available in the U.S... but then you guys probably have way more people that go off road than we do!
I know everybody likes to bash on Adventure Kings, and they do sell some utter shit, but the Dominator winches are a pretty decent bit of kit, and are nearly half the price of most other winches.
Thing I love about your show Ronny is that you have a great bunch of blokes along with you. Some other channels bring along their kids or their wives and you just can't say in the comments "yeah mate, your kid is just a dropkick" or "your wife is just too dumb to be able to fart and stay clean"... you know constructive, postivie stuff. Your blokes are obviously mates but they are also professional you-toobers in the same vein as you are. Maybe they dont have their own channel (or even just a crap spin-off channel like Harry's) but they are serious about providing good content and doing a good job and they add value. ITs nice to see you blokes have a laugh but still take it seriously. Thank you for all the hard work you and yourt mates put in.
Nothing better for the scorching hot black sand over here on the West coast

Would love to bring what you guys are doing over there to Botswana 🇧🇼. The car modifications and awesome trips. That’s life filled with adventurous moments
This rig is the best-looking one somehow. Cannot put a finger on it, just the stance and the symmetry. Great additions. I think we need a Part 2 of this Modified with more videos showing the dashboard, electrical system, underbody, etc.
I’ve got the same ARB LINX system on my Ranger, and the preset auto tyre inflation app is a bit of a pain in the A$$, and requires a bit of a hack to make it feasibly usable. While inflating a tyre, the compressor constantly cuts out and only runs in “burst” so as to check the current psi, which gets worse as you approach your target psi so as not to over inflate, but wow it takes a hell of a long time. The hack I use is to set the target psi to 60 (if I’m going for 40), so that the inflation “bursts” are longer, and then just keep an eye on the psi when the solenoid stops the compressor for a psi check. I’ve gotten use to where I need to remove to hose to get within a few psi of my target psi, so while not ideal it cuts the time in half to get the job done. The LINX system is great, but there are a few bugs that have me still sitting on the fence for whether it was a wise investment, but hope it’s doing everything Torb’s hoped it would for him at least.
When Torbs had his rooftop tent it was imho the best version. Those swags just seem ridiculous. Are they an exclusively Aussie thing? Can’t imagine any other country going for them. Camping near salties in a swag. Madness!
can't wait for the G-Wagon modified... love your truck Torbs, you've done a neat job building that rig. like how the brakes and suspension were top mods, neither should be skimped on. LOL best beer, umm Harry's.
Cheers for sharing this, I have been watching torb's rig in the back ground seeing changes and hearing "we are going to do another modified soon". It's great to see all the new gear, also the experience you gain of all the changes people make is invaluable. How many sets of lights have been used from no1 until 79? Keep up the good work and stay safe fellas.
Torbs, why does it sound so breathy when you're cruising? is it the larger air cooler, crossover pipe or something elsle? killer sound and cool rig, can't wait to see the electrical setup vid. running 3 fridges! is seperate fridges better than one fridge freezer? Another great job Ronnie, your vids help out so much. worth every cent.
I guess the shorter cell and tailor made alloy bed make it way more practical, but i loved this truck with the old long cell. Made it look like a ten ton doomsday truck, it was awesome !
the station you where on when you recorded this i was cruzing round in a 6 deck cattle truck the house down the road from where you are is a mate he runs it the station loved it up there
Bloody weapon Torbs! Love your rig mate. My next canopy will be similar to yours (i drive a dual cab). Have it shorter so i can have 2 spares on the back. My standard tray overhang is ridiculous LOL. Great modified fellas!
Personally think this cruiser looks better than the main one. Looks pretty sick with that canopy and tray. All just looks to proportion. An obscure question here, what gauge wiring was run from the front battery to the rear canopy? And what are the dimensions of the canopy?
Electrical Setup video would be much appreciated. I am looking to setup somewhat similar with a jack-off canopy and still have power controls on both canopy and interior. If you could cover what the RedVision and the Lynx can and cant do (their limitations), that would be awesome.
Great video Ronny, awesome to see Torb’s ute up close with all the latest mods .... those clear top bags are a great idea, got a couple of the awesome Drifta clear top bags and they’re bloody awesome !!! Where does the ‘Little Bear’ bit come from ? We’ll have to do a sticker / stubby cooler swap eh Ronny ? 😆👍 Just 2 things though guys - it’s a bonnet, not hood here in Australia ( hood is an American term ) and they’re not ‘fruit box drinks’ or juice boxes, they’re poppers.....Come on fellas 😆👍
Hood... Bonnet.. Cuz your nana wears a bonnet.... 😆😂 🇺🇸 USA HOOD.... Love your vids Ronny.... Let us know if you ever come to USA overlanding is a big trend rite now.
I have the MTZ p3s as well, great tyre but Torb is so right. My 80 isn’t a daily so the road noise doesn’t piss me off but if I heard it everyday I would probably hate it.
Hi Torbs nice rig set up! Looking at building a similar set up for my single cab, if you could let us know the size of the canopy /tray would be great. Cheers 👍
If you've ever had the misfortune of spending an extended period of time in a Gwagen ute, you'd be firmly in the "I would rather drive a Pink Suzuki X90 than this turd" camp. Things like: You can slide the seat back. Or you can recline the seat. It is vertoben to do both of these things at once. And there's zero room in the cabin at all to actually change this arrangement. The steering feels like the power steering pump fell off. I have NEVER driven a vehicle with as heavy steering as a Gwagen, and that includes LN106 Hilux with no power steering belt and a 15 tonne MAN truck with the tyres aired down in deep sand and the front locker in. Its literally two hands to turn into a side street. Its a $125,000 vehicle, and the interior makes the inside of a 70 series workmate look like a Bentley. They literally do not give you enough vinyl to cover all of the floor. You do not get a center console. There is a console there, but it has a battery in it. For reasons. Because the two for cranking are not enough apparently. You would struggle to find enough room to fit a guinea pig in the engine bay with the bonnet closed. When Mercedes fitted the V6 diesel, they didn't change ANYTHING in the engine bay to make more room. They put a dent in the bonnet pressing to make room for the turbo snail its that cramped. Don't even begin to think about adding things in there, there isn't the room and it will probably break shit for no real reason. Mercedes Aus don't actually know all the details about this vehicle. There's a button on the dash. It does something, because something clicks. It is not marked in any real meaningful way. It is not mentioned at all in the manual. The dealer has no idea what it does. But it makes something go click. The original design brief of the Gwagen was "Get a car load of troops from point A to Point B while under fire, and it shouldn't break down so that anyone who hasn't been shot already can get to where they need to go". They haven't updated the thing AT ALL to reflect how normal people function. If you gave me the $125K to buy a Gwagen, I'd buy two 70's with it. [/End rant] On a totally different note- Ronny should look into making some stubby holders with the magnets on them! that way you can stick em to your car/fridge slide/bull bar when your half cut going to bed and not loose them in the morning!
ferremit, I would hope the brief was not moving troops under fire as gwagons have no armour and they are just a run around vehicle in reality (Australian ones atleast) all your other points are very valid especially the centre console which isn’t a centre console 😂😂😂, but they aren’t for getting shot at in, that’s what PMV’s are for
4wheeling Australia is simply the best 4wheel drive segment so far.

The G-wagen 4x4 squared comes on 37's. It's around $400,000.
I think my 80 series was better value at $1800
I love how hard it is for two blokes with $100k Utes to say the Dominator winch is an alright bit of kit.

The Mercedes G-wagon with portals is called the 4x4 squared and comes standard with 37" tires (or tyres Ronny)
Enjoyed the video, very much. Cheers, Mate from San Francisco, USA

What happened to Wayne? Need another one on his new cruiser
search off road warriors Australia on youtube
awesome build Torbs, totally love the electrical set up
Ronny don’t let people tell you that you spell tyres wrongly . We spell it differently to people from some other places. Not wrong , different.
Great tips there on some of the tried and tested components. The engine chip seems reliable so far too.

Donkeys years isn’t referring to the age of a donkey but to the time when we used to use donkeys to transport things.

Well in this case it’s three sides but he does actually use them for work mainly and play
