  • From the get go we knew we needed to nail this build and we believe we have done just that, from the wheels and tires, to the fact that it has no bullbar, a perfectly sized canopy and enough fuel, water & 12v power to survive an apocalypse. This is our ultimate touring setup.

    Very well thought of

    Well done! A lot of common sense and experience in this build instead of just throwing the credit card at it. And respect for admitting that a lot is about the looks. Love what you did with the winch. Clean lines - looks good and like you, I think the risk of animal strike is overstated if you don't drive at dawn and dusk.

    I saw your 79 at the Sydney 4x4 show today, it's a great rig mate. I love the Gworks tray and canopy (compliments to them on a great product) and I know what I will be getting when I receive my 79.

    I personally reckon the best wheel tyre combo is the factory workmate steelies with Toyo open country muddies. Skinny’s are the best from my experience

    Personally I think ya mad not doing an air box upgrade.. I would look at Donaldson 200 series air box and see if you can make ya own brackets to make it fit..

    Does the tune now void any factory warranty given working outside of the factory Toyota parameters?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  Месяц назад

      If they can prove the tune was the cause of the issue then yes potentially, its something we think about for sure.

    Gday mate.
    With a 2 inch lift is there any mods that need to be done to fit 33’s / 285’s to stop scrubbing etc?
    I know ya did a vid on it but I think those mods were done pre lift?Cheers

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  2 дня назад

      We trimmed the front gaurd as per the vid mate. And yes they still just touch every now and then 🫣

    Presume steering wheel with controls is stock with 2024?

    awesome video mate just a little FYI type into RUclips the brand of your camera and "how to stop focus breathing" its that annoying zoom in/out that you would of noticed as your editing. It's to do with your cameras sensitivity level when focusing ....you're welcome 😉

    What sort of airbox did you have on the previous cruiser?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  28 дней назад

      Hi Brent. Our previous ute had a patrol docta airbox. It was a good bit of gear.

    Why did you offset the winch control box ?

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  Месяц назад

      There are sensors in the centre of the grille. And I also like the look of it. Cheers for watching.

    • @seabee167
      @seabee167 Месяц назад

      Okay, I've mounted my winch control dead centre on top of a bullbar and it doesn't affect the sensor, so if you do add a bar it's ok dead centre. Cheers mate I enjoy both your channels.

    It would be the ultimate 79 if it was the 4 cylinder and not the boat anchor of a V8 😂
