    Wow a lot of negative Nancy’s commenting. Nobody said you have to buy or like the 4 cylinder 79 series. These guys put out these video’s for peoples interest, I own a modified 2006 TD42TI Patrol, I have no intention of buying a seventy series but I still enjoy watching

    Why not the V8 though? That's a big van.

    Upgrade the brake booster. Always been one of the best mods to any 70 series for years.

      Hey mate - it's definitely been something we've done on every other demo but interestingly enough, this 4 cylinder being a lighter build and with the auto seems quite expectable for now. We'll probably make the hydro booster upgrade in a few months time though.

    Having done that sort of trip…. You don’t really need that 2nd spare, even the gib is like a highway these days so you’ll be able to get a tyre or repaired if required… We never even got a flat ourselves.

    By comparison, my new V8 Troopy comes in at 2.68T and gets 16L / 100 with an 18ft van on the back, and is currently showing 10.4 L/100 overall since new.

    Is it really necessary to have two latches for the toolbox. Would one be strong enough and simpler?

    • @ProTouringTV
      @ProTouringTV  Месяц назад

      One would definitely be strong enough but to get a sure seal around the whole surface , 2 locks provide way more clamping pressure and less stress on the alloy face 👍

  • @jbjb3372
    @jbjb3372 Месяц назад +1

    Why did you increase the size of the tyres? I would have thought that the loss of some power in order to drive the big tyres and wheels would be a real downside. Especially given the enormous van that you are towing. Also whenever I am doing tracks around outback stations the cheese cutter tyres are certainly better than wide tyres which tend to push against the desert sands and when deflated still have a really long footprint.

    • @ProTouringTV
      @ProTouringTV  Месяц назад +2

      Hey mate we feel that tyre size is a great all rounder for performance in all types of terrains , soft sand , mud and larger holes. The torque converter makes light weight of the tyres and we’ve also tuned them up plus the additional lock up kit throws heaps of power to the ground. Very happy with the performance so far

      @@ARCHIES_79_LC No not really mate - the larger Utes on 4" and 35's can get a little wander up but this still on 295's and 2" of lift its quite respectable. Still stock radius arms mate with the castor bushes. It would only benefit from having JMACX radius arms though but this is still fine.

      Look at all the kooks driving around in a brand new 79 or brand new 300 series, it is laughable that soo sooo many Aussies can’t help them selves but go into more debt to have the “newest toy to impress there friends” absolutely hilarious. We answer the phone on a daily basis to people who have done well or continue to do well and want to travel but don't have the time to piece the puzzle together and try our best to advise on what vehicle would suit their needs the best.
