    Having gone with a full build on a troopy for the big numbers and spent the porsche level of money that it costs to do that (didnt want the auto at that time), I'd go the full size American truck, if I did it again. Actually cheaper, much more capable as a touring rig and light years ahead on comfort. Will always have the Troopy for the rough stuff, and it just looks great but those big yank tanks are in another class, out of the box.

    Looking forward to seeing a comparison to the 8 speed. Heard nothing but trouble with heat in the 200 auto

      Yeah will be interesting mate. We haven’t had any of our builds have dramas with heat really needs to be tuned properly and calibrated. We run larger trans coolers too

    Does your transmission team add an 80 degree oil thermostat to the transmission to avoid overheating ?

    Hey Mate, What a rig, my dream 4x4.
    Im interested though in your comment about the stock 2.8L 4 cylinder runs rings around this tuned V8 with auto, does this mean the 2.8 pulls better and faster even with significantly less power than that tuned V8? With the same weight?

    Beast. Only wish my Clearview powerfolds fitted like that on my 300

    It will be interesting to sèe what gvm upgrades they can do with the 2.8 auto.

      @@ProTouringTV Toyota should have gone to the straight 6 and standardised it for the 300, Prado, & 70 series.

    If you're going auto, why not the ZF 8sp? Ripper touring rig, solid build - the seat covers on the Recaro's - are they off the shelf?

    • @ProTouringTV
      @ProTouringTV  8 месяцев назад

      They are mate . Black Duck make them for the Recaro’s. Up until now mate the Wholesale kit has been all that’s on offer with good backing and stock levels . We’ve got a few 8 speed builds coming through now and will report back with a RUclips vid

    Mad rig.
    With the side steps, if your driving on a gravel road do stones get caught into the powerboards and damage any panels?
    Or is it pretty same on dirt roads...

    • @ProTouringTV
      @ProTouringTV  8 месяцев назад

      Cheers mate . Yes if planning to hit a heap of corrugations extended mud flaps are usually recommended. We can extended the factory ones. A standard side step is recommended if you plan on doing a range of travel including heavy corrugations

    Great build as always Kaleb, however the real question is not if the auto is good, rather- “is it worth spending over $300k on a Landcruiser dual cab” 🤔 I’m in disbelief that people have the money, or should I say have the capacity to service the debt on this…

    • @ProTouringTV
      @ProTouringTV  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hey mate - it totally comes down to the individuals position. Some would say no and some say hell yeah it's a cruiser and have no limit on budget.
