    I just purchased the 2021 G80 3.5 did not opt for the prestige package, it came with more than enough bells and whistles without paying an extra 5k. I had the 2018 G80 prior which I loved as well. The 2021 is in a whole different league, the performance is amazing. The torque and pickup of the 6cyl twin turbo will part your hair lol. I just love this car from comfort to style to performance. It has it all!!!

It really looks like Genesis nailed it with both of these - my only concern is will they back up the vehicles with some attractive leasing, especially when you look at the top trim level where Genesis starts to loose it’s affordability lead against BMW.

Got almost thirty mpg and the ride was as smooth as silk! Had to pass a few cars along the way and it was very spirited when floored to pass. I’m 77 and my first car was a 49 Oldsmobile. Love this car the look The Style everything and the size. I'm 6 6 and I'm tired of car makers making these small expensive luxury cars. So it's nice to see luxury car makers not forgetting about the big guy or gal. The price is the major problem. It is a Korean luxury car. And for the price you can get a BMW or Mercedes Benz big body.

  • @megashae468
    @megashae468 Год назад +1

    I had a chance to compare a 2020 E class (without magic body control) and the G80, and i have to say, the genesis trumps over the G80 over less maintained roads.
    Whereas the E class is supreme in highway conditions.
    I live in South Korea and most roads are really well maintained in the capital, but there are some regional cities that seemingly have a budget of $2.70 per year, and in those cities, the G80 seems to be the most popular luxury car brand overall.
    The E class is too Harsh over potholes and the like,
    Whereas the G80 glides over them more smoothly.
    On the highway, the G80 is too wallows a bit too much and there is comparatively more wind and road noise when you go over 70mph.
    Overall both are great cars and i am looking forward to see how the new 2024 E class compares against the aging 5 series and A6 along with the Lexus ES and this G80.

    • @unkownguy962
      @unkownguy962 9 месяцев назад

      you are right about the wind noise above 120km but its acceptable. i have the g80 2023..but road noise or bumps + pattholes its smooth..perfect isolation which is very important to me!
      Merc E class w213 its the worst generation when its comes to reliability ..I owned w211 and w212 both better than w213 at driving experience and reliability overall.

    Excellent style by this reviewer,. We watch to get personal opinions and being from the Northeast, I appreciate the cadence. Shopped Genesis a few years ago and was unimpressed with their dealer distribution. Personally, the car is a beauty, and will warrant a look in a few years. It will take a lot to replace my current Lexus GS AWD, which is a dream to own, but is no longer made. Thanks very much.

    I remember a Motor Trend comparison test in 2011 with a Chrysler 300C versus a Hyundai Genesis with the 300c winning hands down. Looking at the progress the Koreans have made in less than 10 years is unbelievable! The Genesis in less than 10 years has become a luxury car contender while Chrysler is “still Chrysler”. Hyundai Motor Group emphasis on continual improvement, investment in technology, modern design, excellent quality and active listening towards customers is why they are winning. This car is outstanding and a true competitor to the Germans and Japanese brands.

    Just saw your review, thought it was very comprehensive. I currently have the 2015 G80 sport with 5.0 v8 engine. I love the way the car accelerates when in sport mode. I'm disappointed that Genesis no longer have the v8 option available. I think that's the only reason I'm still holding on to my 2015 model. I'm hoping Genesis will bring back the 5.0 v8. The headlights and turn signal lights on the newer version of the G80 is very eye catching. Great review

    I want to know what the total cost would come up to if you wanted the basic engine but with ambient lighting, front heated and ventilated seats, gen. leather, sunroof, blindspot warning, and power rear shade. I went from a 2015 Lincoln MKZ 3.8 Premium which had all those things to what I thought would be an upgrade, a 2018 Jag XF Prestige with a 2.5T engine. MAN was I WRONG. I miss the take-off and grumble of the 3.8L Lincoln and all those other features. The few + things about Jag: rarity, app-based remote start and tracking, ability to self-limit top speed and/or follow posted signs, maintenance included, better gas mileage.

    Genesis has done it AGAIN!! I see them running into the same issue that Bruce Lee and Michael Jackson had to deal with, and that was to be BETTER than themselves which was next to impossible! The G80 will be a HUGE hit in spite of the SUV zombie state that most folks are in.
    I do see many features in this car that was borrowed from the great Kia K900 ( look up the K900 and you will see what I mean) NOT a fan of the stop/ start feature but a BIG fan of the "Auto Brake Hold" which to me has become a deal breaker!
