Do not buy this. I had a 2021 G80 bought used with 4k miles and sold it after 1 year since it was so bad. 1) Front Headliner was not secured to the roof. I could see the plastic clips if i pulled it down slightly. How did this get past quality control wtf? 2) Panoramic roof would flex and crack if i go over uneven surfaces, which never happened with any cars I've owned. Dealerships had 4 tries to fix but could not fix 3) Weak AC that is terribly inadequate for Texas weather. 4) Rides rough and not very comfortable even with non-run flats. Granted I had the 20 inch wheels but still. 5) Poor NVH in general even with acoustic laminated glass compared to other luxury cars I've owned. 6) Gas mileage for the V6 sits around 19 mph 60/40 highway city driving which is pretty mediocre. 7) Just does not drive as well overall as the Germans or Japanese. You can tell the Koreans brands just arent quite up to snuff when it comes to driving dynamics.

The fact that they did it backwards through *turn 9 of Big Willow* is the amazing part. It was originally built in 1953 and feels like it hasn't been repaved since. I wore out a front-left wheel bearing last time I was there. Also, fantastic video. Jason, Randy, and the cinematographers are best in the business.

Another great video! The chemistry between Jason and Randy is amazing and I laughed out loud at the "drag race". Jason has become my favorite automotive presenter lately
@@JK061996 most cars have a reverse gear that is a ratio somewhere between 1st and 2nd, so most cars in reverse can actually hit somewhere between 50 and 70. Jason and hagerty, I literally LIVE for these videos. One of the best times to consume automotive media since motortrend was free on RUclips in the 2010’s. Bravo to everyone involved ❤

Jaguar XES, M3, X3M40i, and one Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade. Looking forward to replacing my X3 with the upcoming GV70 Electric. Hyundai Genesis has really come along way. This channel is easily the best automotive content of all time.
I rarely have attention span and patience for watching RUclips videos without skipping forward. I watched every single second of this video from the start to finish focused. Great quality and content and how it was presented.
The quality of the cinematic presentation and the charismatic charm of the presenter truly makes this series absolutely timeless, videos like this will be watched and rewatched for years to come. Well done 👍
More than 10 years ago, Hyundai is always being a laughing stock of the automotive world, but now, it is so amazing how far they have come, and Genesis has become one of my favourite car brands ever. Bravo, Hyundai, Bravo.
Your videos are just on a different level !!! I just didn't realise how 21min just passed by 🤘. The background sound , the videos , the anchors and the quality of the content delevery are amazing 🙏
Cammisa (and Randy) along with the production team at Hagerty really are putting out the best car content on RUclips. There are lots of reviewers out there but they’re all missing something. These guys are the only ones that come close to the old days of Top Gear. My only complaint? There’s not enough of it.
Icons? Cammisa and Pobst 👍🏽 Amazing combination of entertainment while being technically and historically informative. Definitely felt like how Top Gear used to be. Amazing production and editing as well. All around kudos. Keep it coming - it is absolutely appreciated! 👍🏽
Great video. On my second G already. I'd like to see them step up their performance game a bit; not quite to the AMG, RS, M level just yet. But in terms of quality, price, style and... desirability, so much potential.
I can relate to being impressed with Hyundais progress over time. 1988 I was bangin around in a cheap hyundai 4 door that was crap but somehow never left us stranded… fastforward to 2018 or so. I was at the airport in San Francisco trying to pick up my Jaguar XJ rental, and in classic Jaguar reality, it was broken. They offered me a Genesis G90 replacement and I didnt argue, had to leave asap. To my genuine surprise, the G90 was a capable highway car. The more time I spent driving it the more I was impressed. I kept thinking back to that 80s trashmobile and how far Hyundais come along. I do not own a G90 but I can say anyone who is in the market, go check one out, its worth a look!
Many years ago, I was renting a car and had to choose between a Buick something or other and a Hyundai XG300. The rental counter dude said I should try the Hyundai. It was far from perfect, but overall I was quite impressed with it. I treated it with the same lack of mechanical sympathy that Jason does when it's a corporate asset. It held up just fine.
An excellent comparison analysis, value preposition, and historical content for aid. I have watched many reviews on The G90. This is one of the best I have seen. It leaves you well informed, entertained, and opened for compromise.
I've driven and owned Toyotas, Hondas, Nissan and Mazdas. Test drove the Genesis GV70 SUV (base 4cyl) a couple of weeks back and was floored (both figuratively and literally) at how good it was. 300hp is more than enough for my needs. Styling, performance, ride, technology, warranty...all simply amazing. Definitely looking to pick one up, though tough choice with the GV70 Electrified due out next year..
This could be a global reference for genesis brand for the people (even the non-car guy) and a big lesson for lexus original HQ in Japan to not forget what they've achieved in the past. Perfect show with magnificent cinematography as always
That Lexus LS next to the G90 was a great shot. To me it resembled a passing of the torch. I think Korean automakers will be in these year what Japanese automakers were in the past years
Koreans are definitely taking the lead in the automotive industry at the moment, and with the prototypes and teasers coming from the likes of Hyundai I doubt that it's going to change anytime soon.
The best thing about this video was was the FUN. You guys are great presenters and posed a rather good question. My old boss asked me if I could sell a LS400 with 73,000 km on it for 5 grand. I drove it, loved it, so well maintained, and sold it for 6 grand. Was the best buy for the buyer. And was not my car. What a great segment! Jason and team, just awesome!
It makes me happy that Cammisa still has the charm that he has when I first watched him when I was barely a teen. These videos are brimming with quality and good writing. Well done to all of you.
Jason, as well as the whole crew, NEVER disappoint! My only complaint is that the videos like this one don't las long. I could watch them for hours. Keep up the good work.
Even the blooper is better than nearly all the video content one consumes in a day, which probably doesn't sound like a massive achievement in today's day and age, until you realize that was the hosts blowing up what they intended to do!! That's all there is to know about why Jason and Randy sharing the screen just works!
Had a friend who bought one of the first Hyundai Excels. Went to take a drive, put the key in the ignition and the steering column fell off into her lap. Like...the WHOLE steering column. Quality car. They've definitely come a LONG way since then.
I loved this video. Not for the Genesis stuff, but for the fact that my first car ever was my Dad’s hand me down 1986 Hyundai Excel. I sympathize with Jason’s time driving this thing on the track, and can confirm the car has NO acceleration whatsoever! :)
Don't forget that Gensis also has a ton of really great quality of life features. You can have your car back itself out of a tight parking spot so that you aren't potentially opening your door into someone else's car or attempting to get your things inside of it in a uncomfortable way. They have done a ton of Industry first things even if they still need refinement, its good to have a strong competitor in the market again
I had to pause at 0:27, go to the comments, and ask myself, "Why am I teary-eyed?" It must be because I've always been one to root for the underdog and I can already tell this -- like all of Cammisa's work -- is going to be excellent. Seeing how far Hyundai has come since the days of the Excel just makes me very happy. It's also the fact that Jason Cammisa sets the bar very high when it comes to the quality of content he brings to the table. He's the S-Class of car reviewers. Now, back to the video... 🙂
dude ngl watched the video on 9th may and i can say hands down one of the most *iconic* car channel on RUclips that i have ever watched and believe me i have watched over 100's
Resetting the high bar (once again) for the entire automotive journalism industry. Easily the best car review video I’ve ever seen, the production quality is unparalleled on any platform by any other content creator. Truly remarkable. Well done.
I never thought I’d enjoy a 21 minute video about Hyundai, great job Hagerty. If you want to complete the cinematic look, all you need is to shoot the next episode with an anamorphic lens, that would be awesome.
I truly wouldn’t have been caught dead in a Hyundai product, and I admit I’ve had bias over the years. But recently my wife got a GV60 and it’s truly been an incredible car. I can’t wait for them to make a sporty coupe of sorts now!
my dad's first car in the US was an Excel! It was a gen 1 with that rather nice styling. That thing could seriously haul luggage and furniture around like it was nothing. (and with winter tires it was a surprisingly good winter beater too.)
The audio on this film is just sublime. Every scene has a masterful mix of SFX that blends in with vocal so well. (How many different sound effects are there in this video?) I really enjoyed the video-- balancing in-car sound must have been difficult against noise though, nice job!
The production on this show is incredible. Thank god Cammisa does free videos for us plebs

The Korean ford essentially. From worst to best.
Will never buy another Hyundai ever.
@@jarod3371 why??
Winning all kinds of automotive competitions too
@@alpha7ization He’s Scotty the mechanic. He’s a hater anything non-Japanese.
Your videos are just on a different level !!! I just didn't realise how 21min just passed by 🤘. The background sound , the videos , the anchors and the quality of the content delevery are amazing 🙏
The production team needs a raise.
Thank you for making me laugh so hard and educate me in the same episode. There is no better show on RUclips!! I'll go watching it again!!
Hyundai Genesis is literally doing the best things in the business right now. The value for money is incredible while beating some of its competition
I agree
Cammisa (and Randy) along with the production team at Hagerty really are putting out the best car content on RUclips. There are lots of reviewers out there but they’re all missing something. These guys are the only ones that come close to the old days of Top Gear. My only complaint? There’s not enough of it.
Me too. I wish these episodes came at least once a week. But this kind of production quality takes time.
I Can't believe that this level of production is avaliable for free, amazing HAGERTY
What an absolute masterpiece. The writing is so good. Kudos to the team. Y'all never fail to impress
Icons? Cammisa and Pobst 👍🏽 Amazing combination of entertainment while being technically and historically informative. Definitely felt like how Top Gear used to be. Amazing production and editing as well. All around kudos. Keep it coming - it is absolutely appreciated! 👍🏽
I'm so glad Genesis is in the mix. Nice to have and see alternatives to the other/traditional brands. Competitive options and choices are good.
True 💯
Always admired the Lexus LS400. I used to live by a dealership when they were new. Never expected them to keep their value as well as they did.
Great video. On my second G already. I'd like to see them step up their performance game a bit; not quite to the AMG, RS, M level just yet. But in terms of quality, price, style and... desirability, so much potential.
In 1983 (until 1986) Canada had the PONY well before the Excel! We were obviously blessed!
Hey, Pony! I remember that car. Good to hear from you.
How do these videos just keep getting better and better?? Really enjoyed this one.
Jason and team did a really good job highlighting how crazy quickly Hyundai grew up. 👏 well done!
Its really amazing how genuinely excited the car reviewers are about hyundai lately
This is more than a video, this feels like a Netflix series, the editing and video overall is gorgeous and incredible!
Love the Icons series can’t wait for the next one
This entire series is so much better than we deserve
It makes me happy that Cammisa still has the charm that he has when I first watched him when I was barely a teen. These videos are brimming with quality and good writing. Well done to all of you.
I am studying Business. We research on how large and complex organisations fail. This was my case study. You defined everything so beautifully 😮
This review was amazing, really enjoyed the scenes and how you guys present the product. Keep it up.
Has Hagerty hired a lot of industry legends too? This is 🤯. You're setting the bar and then breaking it too 👏
I freaking love Jason Camissa’s videos
Epic videos
Jason, as well as the whole crew, NEVER disappoint! My only complaint is that the videos like this one don't las long. I could watch them for hours. Keep up the good work.
Finally, someone answers all my childhood, and current questions. Such a relief.
Even the blooper is better than nearly all the video content one consumes in a day, which probably doesn't sound like a massive achievement in today's day and age, until you realize that was the hosts blowing up what they intended to do!! That's all there is to know about why Jason and Randy sharing the screen just works!
Wow that scene with the gv60 pulling ahead was insane!! Props for making an electric car bring tears to my eyes
I love Jason’s reviews, best automotive journalist IMO
Had a friend who bought one of the first Hyundai Excels. Went to take a drive, put the key in the ignition and the steering column fell off into her lap. Like...the WHOLE steering column. Quality car. They've definitely come a LONG way since then.
Best quality video I've ever seen in RUclips... Not just in automotive category.
each new video takes the series one level further. thanks for all your hard work. this is awesome 👍
Wow! How do I even survive without those "great" features nowadays 😂
Probably the best produced, written and presented car video that I have seen on RUclips. It raises the bar for everyone else.
This is how you do a car show. Every car company needs to have their car reviewed by them. Excellent work
I had to pause at 0:27, go to the comments, and ask myself, "Why am I teary-eyed?" It must be because I've always been one to root for the underdog and I can already tell this -- like all of Cammisa's work -- is going to be excellent. Seeing how far Hyundai has come since the days of the Excel just makes me very happy. It's also the fact that Jason Cammisa sets the bar very high when it comes to the quality of content he brings to the table. He's the S-Class of car reviewers. Now, back to the video... 🙂
Love these guys together!!! Always awesome production.
daaamn the quality of this production is just awesome love the video quality especially the colorgrading and all those hidden vfx.. i had to subscribe
This is by far the BEST informative auto video ever!!
Just superb. From the writing, to the filming, to the editing, to just all of it. Well done everyone who touched this video
This absolutely brilliant was exceptionally well thought out and edited. Thanks for the video!
Insanely amazing production Hagerty!! Kudos to the team being the best among other car channels!
AMEN on that opening sequence! I'm ALWAYS excited when a new ICONS drops!
I've long enjoyed Jason and often been entertained by Randy, but this episode of the pairing is darned near perfection. Well done.
dude ngl watched the video on 9th may and i can say hands down one of the most *iconic* car channel on RUclips that i have ever watched and believe me i have watched over 100's
Jason Cammisa is the single greatest automotive journalist today, I don't think anybody else will be able to match him ever. Amazing Stuff!
Best videos on tbe internet
GV60 has way better quality than any Teslas out there. Sad that people still buy Teslas and think they're buying a luxury car..
This is by far the most nicely done, cinematic and tasteful video I’ve ever seen on RUclips
I’m glad it takes so long for a new ICONS video because it’s SO good when it finally comes out.
There are only two reasons I am subscribed to this channel: 1. Cammisa 2. Esposito. So much passion and talent in every video! Bravi, ragazzi!
The audio on this film is just sublime. Every scene has a masterful mix of SFX that blends in with vocal so well. (How many different sound effects are there in this video?) I really enjoyed the video-- balancing in-car sound must have been difficult against noise though, nice job!
Mixing engineers are obviously seasoned. The stereo separation is extreme.
