    Not sure if I should be grateful or resentful for this tutorial. On the one side, I've been able to see what I was doing wrong and have been extremely happy with how the blades/weapons I've been painting since watching this have come out. On the other hand, I now feel the urge to repaint all of my other Necrons who don't have this method...
    I'm gonna go with grateful though. Nicely done!

    Man you can't believe how much you helped me. The Plasmancer is among my first minis and the way this technique elevated my army is beyond insane. Thank you so much man. Sadly, I can't support you financially as of now, but I will make sure this video, and you channel in general gets more exposure (as it deserves) by spreading it across all platforms I'm on. Great tutorial, simple and easy to understand! I would have personally applied a thin coat of Ardcoat on the blade to do a small shiny effect on the weapon but that's just my taste ^^

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  4 года назад +4

      I don't like that because it detracts from the blending work and if I want to paint something shinny I like to paint the effect myself.
      I personally never use gloss varnish but I understand why people do and I respect it. Always do what makes you happy

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  4 года назад +1

      If you do tau light, it will look more like Gold NMM than Yellow.
      If you want a light yellow look, you need to use orange as shadows and move away from ochres all together. Also don't use black.

    I am waiting for my first ever Warhammer figures to arrive in the post. I have watched so many videos on this subject and this is by far the best result.
    Also the most difficult to do, but I am going to give it a go.
    How did you prime the figure and is the green the best place to start?

      I always use citadel sprays for priming, I personally like to prime with light colours Myself.
      As for the blade, yes, starting with the midtone is to me the best idea

    Me mola mucho y creo que ver éste y "blue power sword" me ha resultado muy útil 🤗.
    Por lo que veo la parte roma la dejas en sombra, en caso de la versión azul habrías dejado negro esa parte o un azul muy oscuro mejor?

    Awesome guide!
    Do you know what blues I can substitute for each green?

      I actually have a video on blue power swords if you want to check, it's a bit outdated since I would buse something like Terradon Turquoise now instead of the inks. Another option would be to look at Darren Latham's power sword video which is absolutely excellent.
      I also do a very bright blue sword in the How to Paint - Farsight Enclaves video but it requires you having Guilliman Blue.

    Love this! Wondering what your ratio would be to make the glazes with Lahmian Medium to paint

      There are lo ratios, that doesn't exist. Each paint is different and will require different thinning and even if I measured mine precisely, my paints are pre-thinned when I transferred them to droppers so that would be useless for anyone but myself.
      Even in between different batches of paints the thinning required can be different. It is something you need to figure out by yourself, that's why show the consistency on my thumb.

    Great video, it was incredibly helpful thankyou. What colours would you recommend for a red instead of green?

    I believe you have done it again. First was the purple NMM, now this one. Did better than the thing you are copying IMHO.
