An absolute classic. Seeing Dale go from the typical interview to opening up being the real person few people in your business ever get to see. Priceless!!
Couldn't agree more, for a car guy at that time Dream Car Garage was the best produced car show at the time, Tom's humor and Gary's pickin on made for a good chuckle. And to visit Dale Sr, who himself was a funny guy when he wanted to be. Great TV back then. Appreciate your podcast bringing back some good memories for sure.
I remember all those episodes. Sr. Is missed every day by us stock car fans. You guys did right by him. I was brought up by guys like Sr, and there’s nothing more important than respect and your word. Seams like you might of earned some of his respect.
The crazy thing about Dale is he crossed all cultural boundaries and became an American icon. Everyone everywhere loved his personality and to this day, “Do it for Dale” is on par with yelling “Kobe” or “Like Mike” before a full send. Thanks for posting this
Im a huge fan of the Earnhardts. Really enjoyed that video. Dream Car Garage was a great show that I used to watch on Speedvision back in the day. I also like the fact that Legendary Motorcar facility was inspired by DEI. Thanks again for sharing!
Great going back in time and talking about behind the scenes DEI. Gary and Peter... great story telling. You need to have more stories like this... RIP Dale Senior and Tom...
I was at the Oshawa airport the day they flew in,,, I do racing art and a friend tipped me they would be there, so I had done a painting of Dale Jr in the that Bud car and was there to get him to sign it wish I could share those photos on here
Gary and Peter. Thank you for sharing this. It is a great view into the past. It was a great way to start off the day. Seeing Tom and Dale. Wow. Never got to meet them. But got a glimpse of them through this. We have been to you showroom. But with your busy schedules never been able to meet. Thanks again.
He actually passed @50 or just before his 50th bday. Rip Dale! I was a Martin fan. So I never liked Dale and Gordon even more so. But like so many I still loved him, loved to hate him. What sports is, but on that Feb day. I cried just like the one's who had cheered him on so many years. I knew what we had lost, just didn't realize how much I cared until then. I did love seeing him win his 500 though.
What an amazing man with so much knowledge. These videos with Dale Sr are priceless. The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss you Dale Earnhardt Sr, your fans forever
This episode is the most entertaining and enjoyable video I've ever watched on RUclips. Thanks to Team Klutt and The Earnhardt family. You're all Ledgendary!
I was never a big NASCAR fan. But I was a big Earnhardt fan. I remember being a kid flipping through the channels and seeing a black car roaring around the track with the rest following. I don't know how much of the race i saw, but i saw him win. After that I watched him every chance I got. After he died, i never watched another NASCAR race. He was the only reason i ever watched. I had shirts, scale cars, model cars, posters, hats, and a lot of other stuff with the black #3 car. Still have most of it. This was a great interview. I would love to see the never before seen footage. Dale was just a genuine man. He's still missed
Earnhardt was visiting the GM Oshawa plant because they were building the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. And, they we’re going to build an Earnhardt Edition Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Love hearing stories and seeing footage of my favourite driver! Being Canadian, Legendary Motorcar was a great new show to watch back then, very happy to watch you on You Tube now!!✌🏻🇨🇦
Great relationship with your son Peter Klutt , I’m working on mine w my son. He’s a racer and a damn good Mx guy-just staying with his mother now. Time might wound all heals but it also heals all wounds. Blessings
Loved this. Would love to see the lost tapes. Might be worth a shot asking now 20 years later. Love to see big name's especially his, like you said, shooting the shit, hunting, the kids, cars ect whatever the topic. Cool podcast, this is the first one I've seen. Definitely be watching more
Loved Dream Car Garage!!! I especially remembered the Muscle Car Shootout! Was very surprised the Challenger didn’t do as well as I expected! The Mustang really surprised me.
Great show Guys Enjoyed watching and hearing about Earnhardts Garage and collection I remember that show well Sr is Definitely Missed We missed out on a lot of Historical racing The Day Sr Passed Was The Last Day I Ever Watched NASCAR Those who know Know...
Dont know if you guys realise that you likely shot the last ever publically seen footage inside the Deer Head Shop. The Doors were famously shut just after Dale's Snr's death and no ones been back in there since, not even Jnr Dale Jr has talked about it on his EXCELLENT podcast
I remember these episodes, pretty much all the Dream Car Garage shows. I met Tom a couple times at World Challenge races. The cars at Legendary were awesome also. Being a Shelby nut, it was always great to see the Shelby’s on tv. Your dad and Tom just worked great together. I liked that it wasn’t polished like all the shows today are. Great time in my life.
Cool segment, considering both gentlemen are no longer with us. I really enjoyed Dream Car Garage back in the Speed days. I had no idea Tom passed over a decade ago.
'Do you want a car like this...or do you need a car like this? Remember watching that episode, I grew up, change my first brake shoes, on a 57 Coral & Ivory 210 sport coupe, with the rubber bumper guards up front.
Has Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ever seen what's in the can that you are talking about when Dale senior was talking about life the interview nobody has ever got before
I have a one car garage, it's a different world, I have a 2ooo's Dale version s.s. black Monte Carlo in my yard. Dead with a super charger on it.. Great condition..
Thank you for your podcast. I want you to know something when I got to meet him in 1999 at Rockingham North Carolina. I shook his hand Danny chocolate Myers was his was his I think crew chief, but then also I think it was his cousin but also, I think that was the gas guy, and then I saw Richard Childress. He was standing there. We got to go in pits and then we all were in the tower in Rockingham course you know people don’t know they’re making a come back with Rockingham. Somebody spent $38 million rebuilding the race track and that’s what I Gotta do at least two or 3 million for the race itself one of my friends, Danielle Jodway she was the banker for Dale Earnhardt and he used to go to a lot of banks I guess in North Carolina I think it was in Statesville, North Carolina, and I didn’t realize the race and then there are race shops too and her was one of my favorite favorite drivers for a long time when he passed away you know it’s just when he died it’s it’s hard on me because my father passed away at 49 and I know my father was born 1941, 1991 and he was born 1951 to 2001 and be 49 years old well that’s early 50s so that was a very special time for me goes to my father. He passed away March 13, 1991 and my mom passed away 1998 and then 2011 I lost my sister and I it’s like it’s a bit of your history. That’s my history his racing in my and my parents. and my parents very special people and Dale Earnhardt was one of my very special people. I didn’t know him all the way, but I have so much memorabilia with him. I would like would’ve loved to had his autograph. I got a friend that’s got an authenticity. His signature is probably worth a file about $5000 right now because he’s at seven times champion
My dad remembers you guys having a hole in the wall shop in Kitchener or London( sadly memory is not as good ) . Me and him used to watch this when I was a kid. I only wish you guys did one thing… You guys did the big block shoot out but never did the small block shootout between the 340 vs351 Cleveland/ CJ / BOSS vs 327-350 because that’s where the action during 1968-73 was most teens made giant killers out of these motors while the big block owners scratched their head and said “ why did I lose to a lil ol 340
With all due respect. I love the video of Dale and his car collection I am a life long Earnhardt fan. But Dale Sr never got to see age 50. He was never in his early 50s as stated in the video. The man in black left us at the young age of just 49 yrs. RIP DALE.
I don't think Dale knew he was good at TV. Dale would have been good to have around in NASCAR as an owner or even in the NASCAR office which I think is where Dale would have ended up. I think Dale would have stayed around the sport even when he quit driving. Dale once answered a question about "if you weren't a racecar driver what would you be?" Dale said "I would be a racecar driver, this is my life".
I'd h8 to sound like all the rest. I've been watching your family since I was a kid, you are the first realty TV show??? I have 5 trucks, 2 old show trucks. A obs airbagged 95. And a 64 econoline pu gasser altered wheel base mid engine idk.. can't wait to sell some stuff and find something new..if you had 40k what is the car to buy???
Dale passed away on 2/18/2001. The police camera said this was filmed on 1/24/2001. Just a couple weeks before his death. *🙏🏻Rest In Peace Dale Earnhardt Sr🕊*
Dream Car Garage was the best car show on TV.
❤
An absolute classic. Seeing Dale go from the typical interview to opening up being the real person few people in your business ever get to see. Priceless!!
man do these episodes really press the ol' sentimental button. thanks again for the great content.

Damn I miss Dale. Dale was bigger than life wherever he went and it brings back so many good memories seeing his smirk under that mustache
That was very cool seeing and hearing Dale Sr. again...! Thanks
our pleasure!

What an amazing man with so much knowledge. These videos with Dale Sr are priceless. The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss you Dale Earnhardt Sr, your fans forever
Classic stuff, feels like yesterday!
Always enjoy your shows! Including LMC. Canada should be proud of her automotive entrepreneurs. Brilliant work and class all the way
This episode is the most entertaining and enjoyable video I've ever watched on RUclips. Thanks to Team Klutt and The Earnhardt family. You're all Ledgendary!
"know why we stopped you?" ..... "Thought you heard we were sponsored by Country style donuts" ...thought maybe I had some in the trunk !!! 🤣
Awesomeness brongs back memories of watching u alls show with my dad
Great episode! I live an hour from the old DEI shop which is now Trackhouse Racing. Loved this trip down memory lane.
The Ganassi shop is Trackhouse. The DEI shop is a shrine to Dale Sr and JR.

Thanks for that, a key piece of info we were clearly missing!
This is a gem! So glad to stumble on this video!
So sad than in just a few short weeks after this, the brightest light in NASCAR went out.
RIP Dale.
That weatherstrip adhesive is wicked. They used the yellow on the lug nuts to keep them on when they changed tires.
Really cool seeing father and son working together and really enjoying it two really good people!!
Absolutely fantastic podcast! We all miss Tom and Dale Sr. Thanks for doing this! Love you guys!
One of the few if any pictures of the deer head garage
Love hearing stories and seeing footage of my favourite driver!

It would be nice to see a new interview with Dale Jr
I agree!
Great video Guys!
Good old speedvision.
Great stuff Peter. Sure brings on the memories.
God I miss this show. The show with Mark Giles’ Camaro was wonderful. I’ve seen the car in person and became personal friends with him.
His Camaro is amazing!
Loved Dream Car Garage!!! I especially remembered the Muscle Car Shootout! Was very surprised the Challenger didn’t do as well as I expected! The Mustang really surprised me.

The Doors were famously shut just after Dale's Snr's death and no ones been back in there since, not even Jnr
Dale Jr has talked about it on his EXCELLENT podcast
Oh there have been people in there since then, Just not Jr.
Love It!
He was the best to ever do it........great driver.....even better man
I really enjoyed this episode, thanks for doing these

Sadly, Dale never made it to his 50's... You'd think that this information would have transferred to the video...
After all these years wouldn't be cool to go back and visit with Dale Earnhardt Jr. On his show
Im loving the laguna seca track behind ya, i live across the street from laguna and never get tired of that place. your shop is awesome
First time I've cried since the Michael Walt rip documentary

Peter didn't talk about when he went earnhardts dealership and drove the GMMG camaro SS. The black F body. Love that clip from their visit down there.
Cool segment, considering both gentlemen are no longer with us.
I really enjoyed Dream Car Garage back in the Speed days.

Excellent history with the Earnhardts!
Great show that’s awesome that it wasn’t script. Pure raw.
Has Dale Earnhardt Jr. Ever seen what's in the can that you are talking about when Dale senior was talking about life the interview nobody has ever got before
The nic name ( the intimidator) fit him and he played the part well...
Awesome video guys!
Hey thanks!!
It would be a nice surprise to offer a copy of the unaired interview to Jr and the family.
That was AWESOME
Definitely subbed your channel
Dale Earnhardt was only 49 when he passed away in the wreck at Daytona. Must have been right after this episode was filmed.
I have a one car garage, it's a different world, I have a 2ooo's Dale version s.s. black Monte Carlo in my yard. Dead with a super charger on it.. Great condition..

I remember these episodes well.
Great story and video. Did that interview with Dale Sr you mentioned ever get released? That would great to watch.
Thank you for this . I watched Dream Car always then. I stopped watching NASCAR after 2002.
My dad remembers you guys having a hole in the wall shop in Kitchener or London( sadly memory is not as good ) . Me and him used to watch this when I was a kid. 😂😂😂 every time bro says HUH it’s super aggravating 😂😂😂😂
Not to correct you , but he was 48 in 2000
With all due respect. I love the video of Dale and his car collection I am a life long Earnhardt fan. But Dale Sr never got to see age 50. He was never in his early 50s as stated in the video. The man in black left us at the young age of just 49 yrs. RIP DALE.
Absolutely, just couldn't remember off the top of the head
Hey guys, really enjoyed this. Have you thought about sending this episode to Dale Jr? I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it.
How the hell do we get all the seasons on dvd pleeeeeeease?
I don't think Dale knew he was good at TV. Dale would have been good to have around in NASCAR as an owner or even in the NASCAR office which I think is where Dale would have ended up. I think Dale would have stayed around the sport even when he quit driving. Dale once answered a question about "if you weren't a racecar driver what would you be?" Sr was 49 in February 2001.
I actually got to visit dei it was an amazing facility
The Deer Head Shop. 👀
right!?
@@legendarymotorcar I watched for a few seconds before it hit me. That's what my eyes did. ^^
Time to bring your show Back
Where have you guys been ?🤘🏼🏁
That screwdriver was a gift from his father.
Slight correction, Dale Earnhardt, Sr, didn't live to be in his "early fifties". He died at 49, two months before his 50th birthday.
Will yous ever make another TV show sad to see it end
Has JR and Kelly seen the canned footage???
No they haven't yet
@@thegarykluttpodcast Jr has a great podcast and maybe you guys can team up
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Dirty Mo Media
Great stuff
Nobody would believe Earnhardt, Top Gun drove a HOT PINK FORD.
Great video
Tar heel cops didn’t remember Dennis’ foot-wide handlebar mustache
Bring back dream car garage please
Would love to see the 'off camera' Conversation
The Monte Carlo SS was built where?
