I Got a question for you. Would you be interested in watching a movie called Axel? It's a good movie and very entertaining.
Hi Nicoholas! I actually haven't heard of it, but will keep it in mind for future polls! :)
Older Disney movies to watch: Emperor's New Groove, Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Ratatouille.
Favourite Disney villain: Dr. Facillier in Princess and the Frog
Most Hated Disney Villain: Mother Gothel in Tangled
Favourite Older Disney: Emperor's New Groove
Disney Animated Movie I Should See: The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
When I first watched this movie, I was watching it on an airplane and it wrecked me so then I was stuck ugly crying and trying to hide it from everyone around me. My grandmother had dementia and it really hit home.
So sorry to hear about your grandmother. That must have been so hard to get through.
I knew you were going to love Dante, he is a Xoloitzcuintli or Xolo for short, is one of the oldest breeds of dogs native to México (dated about 5,500 years). According to legend Xolos were a gift to humans to guard them in life and guide them in the afterlife.
Thank you for reacting to this movie and appreciating mexican culture.🙏
From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Also, the customs agent in The Land Of The Dead was portrayed by funnyman Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.
16:14 Aww yes 🥰that’s what Day of the Dead is all about. By offering food and coming to the cementary is a way to connect to our passed parents, great grandparents, cousins, friends siblings etc. We still loved them after all those years and we hope that they are watching over us😄
There's a documentary called "Alive Inside", about how music brings back cognition and memories--albeit briefly--to severe, in many cases nonverbal dementia patients. It is incredibly moving, and explains what happens to Coco when she recognizes her daughter after hearing the song. Thank you for reacting to this movie!
I’m so glad I was skimming through the comments. This is so lovely and makes it even sweeter
A Disney movie often overlooked that is AWESOME is The Great Mouse Detective, with Vincent Price as my favorite Disney villain of all time: Professor Ratigan! Coco is a gorgeous movie and so touching. It became even more so when a family member had dementia. The most emotional parts of the movie for me are singing to Coco and when Hector finally crosses the bridge. Notice that he's no longer barefooted like he was through the whole movie. Remember his family are cobblers? A beautiful way of showing they'd accepted him back.
I second that! I had hoped that the recent Sherlock Holmes craze would bring Great Mouse Detective back into the light for modern audiences, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to have happened.
@@jlerrickson It's definitely an overlooked gem
I'm with you on the scene in the cemetery, seeing people with their families in spirit. Similar to at the end when Coco puts her arm around her daughter. So sweet.
Playing one of the sweetest and most emotional undertale songs right after having one of the sweetest and most emotional reactions to one of the sweetest and most emotional disney/pixar endings is really unfair
The sheer brokenhearted tone to Miguel's voice when he's sings Remember Me to Coco gets me everytime.
Favorite Disney villain for me is between Scar from The Lion King and Gothel from Tangled.
I've had a rough time, too, with losing a family member. I lost my grandpa earlier this year. It is really hard to cope with. Hang in there! :)
So sorry for your loss, Daydream!
The first time i watched this, the fact that Hector has a gold tooth just like his guitar was the FIRST thing i noticed and kinda gave it a huge hint for me. Then dante, led Miguel to hector when miguel said he needed to find his great great grandpa, that was the nail in the coffin in my guess. This had so many easter eggs and hints in the art and backgrounds. Such a stunning movie.
This is my favorite Disney/Pixar film ever. I watched it for the first time just two months after my brother passing and I had no idea what' was coming. I cried like a baby while watching it.
So sorry for your loss, Emilia! x
So that pizza planet truck is an Easter egg from Toy Story 1. That truck has been in different Pixar movies like Ratatouille and Wall-E
Day of the dead is an important holiday in my culture. Go to Mexico during that time and it gets crazy.
One of the biggest plot twists in Pixar movies! This movie is incredible indeed! I don't exactly agree with the implications of the Dead World, like the fact that you just appear the age you were when you die, but otherwise this is very heartfelt and a tear-jerker.
17:50 With that in mind, this little girl definitely must've died at THAT age! So sad.
El Santo is a real luchador, probably worth a Google.
Went with my whole family in theaters when it came out. All of us bawling at the end haha. But my mom, sister and I loved this movie so much that shortly after it came out we got a yorkie puppy and named her coco 😁
Doggo video insert, 10/10 reaction, top reaction of the year!
Dante is a Xoloitzcuintle is a breed of hairless dog. It is found in standard, intermediate, and miniature sizes. The Xolo also comes in a coated variety, totally covered in fur. Coated and hairless can be born in the same litter as a result of the same combination of genes. The hairless variant is known as the Perro pelón mexicano or Mexican hairless dog.
Veggie, I don't know if you have but you should watch the chronicles of narnia if you haven't. I think you'd enjoy it.
OMG absolutely!! Veggie actually reminds me of Mr. Tumnus!
@@lilicovič that actually kind of makes sense.
I cry everytime I see Miguel sing to mama coco 😢🎉
Favourite bad guy: the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang gave me nightmares for years.
It was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre. As surprising as it may seem it's not a Disney movie it was made by Warfield Productions and the rights are now owed by MGM. I was looking for it on Disney+ and couldn't find it and that's what a search turned up.
Oh god no. Triggered
This is one of the most beautiful representations of death I have seen on screen. Also, it’s not a animated movie but if you haven’t seen ‘Steel Magnolias’ the 1989 version I would love to see you react to it. It is by far one of my favorite movies.
There are many cool films to choose a favorite, Coco, How to Train Your Dragon (film and series), Nimona, The Incredibles... Inside Out 1 and 2!! ❤ passionate about animation
If you liked this, you should give “Onward” a try. It’s the forgotten Pixar movie as it came out in theaters the weekend before Covid closed down the world. But it is right up your alley genre wise (high fantasy) but a tear jerker- especially if you’ve ever lost someone. You won’t regret it!
My favorite Disney villain is Maleficent. Both in the animated Sleeping Beauty and in the live actions of her namesake. She's just so 😍🔥💚💜 I can't say the word I would usually describe her queen status as lol 💅🏼. But she's a baddie! Mother Gothel from Tangled is a close second. She has one of my favorite Disney songs. I kind of love Jafar from Aladdin too because he's so campy.
As soon as you mentioned you’d be watching this one, I was very excited. I fell in love with this movie from the first time I watched it, and I still can’t watch it without crying. It is such a beautiful story.
As we are approaching the Halloween season, I would love to recommend that you watch Over the Garden Wall. It is a beautiful animated miniseries, but you can watch it in one sitting and it’s about the length of a movie (I watch it all at once because each episode is only 11 minutes). I think you would thoroughly enjoy it, especially the character Greg (lovable little boy). And there are a lot of huge voice actors in the series, I’d be intrigued to see your reaction. It's a series that doesn't get enough recognition on RUclips, in my opinion.
Your commentary is always so thoughtful, thanks for another great video!
Some fun tidbits: a lot of the architecture in the land of the dead is based off historical LA and Mexico City, it’s so beautiful and so nostalgic to me! Also it was pretty common in the golden age of Mexican cinema (the 30s-50s) for the stars to be singers, and a lot of songs from those movies are now mariachi standards. De La Cruz was based on golden age actor/singers like Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante (and in the scene where he’s introducing Miguel to everyone at the party, Infante is there 😂)
8:44 “what a terrible way to go” it was fate 😂
Era lo que dios mandaba 🤣
25:36 it’s a sex joke. A chorizo is a kind of sausage, and he (as far as they knew) choked on it, hence the teasing 🫣
I’ve watched coco like 6 times and I’ve watched like a dozen reactions. And I just got the joke😂
I thought they literally laugh at him for choking on a tiny piece of chorizo which would be a silly and embarrassing way to die
@@kay-jay1581 I love how subtle it is, tbh. Perfect way to disguise something so kids won't notice 😂
I love your speed runner doggie!
I have two Xolo doggies, like Dante. Their tongues hang out the very same too.
I highly recommend Wreck-It Ralph if you haven’t seen it. It’s about video games, so it’s very fitting for your channel name.
No monsters Inc Veggie?!? 😮 shocking!! Hope you watch at some point you'll love it!!
If Miguel never stole the guitar, Hector would never have seen Coco in the afterlife. He would have vanished before meeting her.
Also, we need a Monsters Inc. reaction now Veggie :)
Another Pixar that I’d recommend is Soul if you’ve never seen it. It’s more an experience than a film. Where it thrives is that it’s not really for young young kids but is instead geared towards a more mature generation but it’s still a family film.
Best villain? Professor Ratigan left an impression on me as a kid :D But got to love Scar, mainly because of Mr. Irons🤩
For one of my favourite movie villains in the Disney franchise, I'd say Claude Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. (If we're talking about older Disney movies.) And for one of my favourite movie villains in the Disney franchise, I'd say De La Cruz. (If we're talking about modern Disney movies.)
My favourite "Coco" songs are: "Remember Me (Lullaby)", "Un Poco Loco" & "La Llorona" (the great-great grandmother's song).
This movie is AMAZING!! This makes me cry sooo much
In Disney films, my favorite characters are usually secondary goodies - the friends of the protagonists.
If forced to select a favorite Disney villain, I guess I'm going to select either Shere Khan or Sir Hiss. I'll let them duke it out for the honor. :D
I'm all in on the Pixar movie train!
I made the huge mistake of watching this in my office at work one day during a very rough divorce, where my (now ex) husband walked out on our 20 year relationship and our just turned 5 year old daughter.
Anger was eating me alive.
This movie hit me like a ton of bricks, and I had to close my office door and just wept.
It's been several years now, and time and therapy has helped me move forward with loving and supporting our daughter more than my anger at him.
Also, I feel like Disney/Pixar have been making movies for adults that kids can enjoy now, vs like when they used to make movies for kids that adults can also enjoy, if that makes sense.
Well in Encanto, the grandma is the villain. She just isn't intentially the villain.
Encanto, Coco, & Turning Red are all about generational trauma. Luca has generational trauma too.
This is a great movie! Loved seeing your reaction!
Favorite Disney Villain: Mother Gothel (Tangled)
She's my most hated Disney villain, as in most evil, because like Dolores Umbridge she is a villain like someone you have met or know of in real life. My favourite villain is Dr. Facillier from The Princess and the Frog.
@@ronweber1402 I think that is part of the reason she is my favorite... Because she is very believably evil.
The fan theory, but I don't know if this is a fan theory from anyone in actual Mexico, is that this land of the Dead is kind of like a limbo. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just like a waiting area you go to before you go to the real place. It's supposed to help you adjust to being dead.
I really like this Devlin! In fact I do question if what we are seeing here is limbo before the true afterlife in the full length version (I think I ended up editing that part out of the YT version, sorry). It is actually beautiful to think that even after this stage of death, they have something wonderful to get too!
As a fan theory for the movie I think this is cool. But as the tradition has pre-hispanic origins, the vision they had back then was that after a long journey going through many trials, the deceased would be engulfed by a sort of cosmic entity and then disintegrated to become part of the universe in another form.
I'm not sure how to explain it, so if I made any mistakes please correct me, paisanos.
During Mexico's colony period the tradition took a lot of catholic elements as it was almost forbidden by Spanish authorities. In order to survive they had to blend both cultures, and so, that limbo theory becomes plausible as it comes from the catholic belief.
I hope this makes sense to you.
Yay coco!! My favorite Disney movie (favorite movie period) is Tangled!!
YAY more Disney!
The saddest childhood movie (not Disney) is All dogs go to heaven 1989. One of my first and favourite films I watched as a kid and it only got more heartbreaking when I grew up and learned about Judith Barsi who voiced Anne-Marie. 😭
I'm less than 10mins in (this is the first video I've seen of yours) and I'm already laughing at your reactions! I'm a huge Disney fan and will be subscribing to your account because of this video so I can't wait to see what others you react to! If you haven't seen it already I HIGHLY recommend Big Hero 6!
Favourite Disney villain? Three queens of darkness: Maleficent (Sleeping beauty), Cruella de Vil (101 dalmatians) and Ursula (The little mermaid).
Recommendation for: Wish, Frozen 1 & 2 (also the 2 shorts), Moana, Raya and the Last Dragon, Onward, Tangled + Tangled: the series, Brave, Inside out 1 & 2...
I am sooo thrilled that you are watching this awesome movie!!!
I love all the Disney movies. It is hard to pick one to recommend to you. However, two of my favorites are Beauty and the Beast ( animated and live action ) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
It is also hard to pick a favorite villian but I think Hades from Hercules wins the prize. He is sooo hilarious.
As always, I look forward to your next reaction!!! ❤🎉😊
Why are you my favorite youtuber
greyhouds are fast!
So I guessed that de Le cruise wasn’t the great grandfather, and that hector probably was. I think that’s a pretty common plot twist. But I did NOT guess about the murder 😬😬
Also I cry every freaking time coco started singing at the end
My fave Disney villain is Scar from Lion King but its hard to choose, there are so many great villains to choose from
For best Disney villain, I need to go with Claude Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame: he's absolutely terrifying. However, Hades is a lot more fun, as is Professor Ratigan.
My favorite Disney film will always be The Lion King and it’s hard for me to put any other Disney film at the tier I hold for The Lion King but Coco is probably right up there with it to me
Saw this in the cinema i really enjoyed it
*Too bad Disney tried to copyright the Day of the dead after releasing this movie*
Ya Disney lawyers can get more than a bit ridiculous. So glad that was slapped down.
Yeah that’s an actual example of cultural appropriation. When a finch person or company what’s to own the rights to a name from some other culture 😅
If you want to continue with family theme. “Turning Red”is great, also The Incrediblea
Did you ever consider reacting to the Kung Fu Panda series? Great messages there as well.
My favorite Disney villain is King Candy also known as Turbo from Wreck-It Ralf from 2012
Have you watched How to Train Your Dragon? Because I'm pretty sure you would LOVE it! Highly recommend. My favorite Disney villain is Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Hi Jonilore! I actually haven't seen any How to Train Your Dragon! I'll add it to the list, tho as I believe it is a series, it may be a little while, sorry!
@@VeggieGamerIf there’s any movies to move up the list, it’s the How to Train Your Dragon Trilogy. It’s epic on so many levels, and it’s my favorite trilogy behind LOTR. ❤
1:00 WHAT is the movie?? XD
Favorite Disney villain? Like from the movies or TV? Hard to say, cause Disney owns EVERYTHING now, which chalks up the villain category to at least 200-something villains. I'd have to say either Scar (Lion King) or Jafar (Aladdin). Or Hades (Hercules).
Apparently it takes place 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' ;)
Disney bought Pixar in 2006 so the mistake is not a big deal.
I recommend Turning Red
dude i love your reactions soo much but after harry potter there wasnt much too watch too be fair soo hoping that u are more aktive now
Hi losl! So sorry about that. I actually hint around it in this video, but my mother was ill throughout that time, and I had to prioritize life over the channel. She has since passed away, and I intend on being a lot more active now, be it movie reactions, and so on! :) Feel free to recommend the sort of thing you want to see!
@@VeggieGamer sry too hear that! hope too see u best wishes from Austria
The toxic side of the family and the way the grandmother is ruling that toxic way is so common in Mexico. Very spot on.
I like that they got that right and not just the pretty traditions, it makes the story both fantasy and very realistic.
My husband is Mexican and he finds the family part of this too irritating to watch haha, he is totally against this sort of close knit family culture. He is more into making your own family, than being suffocated by the biological one.
Okay the family is not toxic and not evil they were just living with the trauma of abandonment and the fear of being left on their own, like they said “do you want to be forgotten?” like you never even existed or mattered in life? I have a big family from my mom side and small family from my dad’s side. We are not close together (because of personal reason lots of past traumas) and now I’m 30 and when I see how many Greta families live close together oh how I wish that could be me. I would pay a million bucks to have family just across my street. To have my grandmother live 10mn a ride away or even an hour away. To celebrate Día de Los muertos y Navidad juntos. Im just happy that Mexican families are portrayed in a positive way. And not so gross stereotype of drugs, money and out of touch family dramas
hunchback of notre dame is my favorite disney
