I think that’s probably something he considers but I don’t think that was a deeper meaning the writers intended. I think it’s a nice thought but I believe the idea that Drac wants Dennis to be immortal so he can’t die, detracts significance from the intended narrative; that Drac still holds prejudice towards humans, even if his intentions are out of love. If the writers intended his motivation to be like you say, the audience would be completely on his side and the entire theme of the film would be different. That being said, I would love to see a version of this movie with Draculas sole motivation being he wants Dennis to live forever, and the narrative centre around Drac learning to overcome his fear of loved ones dying. But like I said, that wasn’t a theme in this film.

I think the only thing that bothered me during the movie was how hypocritical Mavis was. She was getting on her dad for trying to make Dennis a monster but meanwhile she was doing the same thing trying to make him more of a human
I think you are very right - but to a degree. She was convinced he was human based on logic. He wasn't exhibiting any vampire traits. However, her taking away more monster toys/items from him for human things as well as sending him to a human kindergarten, I think it definitely shows she was pushing him to be more human.
fun fact: vampires doesnt show in mirrors because old mirrors were made of silver aka metal that repels most evil. Vampires is most media can't have children, they counts as undead beings, bite can change others into theirs spawns tho..

Rather than racism, the family’s dilemma with Dennis might be more of an allegory of stuff like cultural beliefs or mental disabilities. Things that said people’s children may or may not inherit, because it’s so often unclear early in life. The grandparents want the best for Dennis just as much as Mavis and Johnny, but they don’t understand Mavis’ views very well and therefore think that their ‘normal’ way is the best for the child

What I don't like about the franchise is the fact that Mavis forgot she wanted to travel the world. Another unpopular opinion (I think): the 3rd movie is my favorite. It's very sweet, it has a beautiful message, it's fun and there's character growth.
For me it's when later in the franchise they forget that in the first film drac says garlic makes his throat swell. Its not a big thing but its also not a small detail to just completely change.
Dennis is technically a dhampir, half human half vampire. So it wouldn’t have mattered if he had fangs or not. I think he would’ve still had some vampire abilities just not all of them. Kind of similar to Renesmee from Twilight; she’s had some vampire attributes as well as humans being a dhampir. She had fangs, but couldn’t produce venom. Therefore she wouldn’t been able to change a human into a vampire. I would love for you to check out Interview with the Vampire (1994 film and the 2022’s TV series) and Disney’s Zombies trilogy. 🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♀️👨🏻🦰🧑🏻🦰🦇❤️🖤✌🏻
It's not that they can't transform into this enormous bats, those bats are low tier vampires, the more they're batlike the weaker they are and the more humanlike are usually the most powerful in various lore

Just because the mean bat don't like humans. Dracula father finally understands Humans likes Monsters. This is My Favorite Halloween Movie both kids and adults.
I didn’t mind the movie but there were some flaws like they should have made Mavis and drac apologize for their actions on each other and on Dennis, also it was too quick on the ending for giving everybody at the last minute.
Recommendation: 'Quest for Camelot' and 'The Black Cauldon'. Both are very under rated films of their time and both are a must see for animated classics, in my opinion. P.S. I love your channel
I always felt the plot is rushed. I think they introduced Dennis too soon. And Johnny doesn't have any connection with him, we can barely tell they are father and son. They both don't mature/grow even a bit throughout all the movies.

They did an invisibility joke in the wedding at the beginning then somehow forgot that rule for the rest of the movie. Multiple scenes. That's the only complaint I have about this film though
I think there are many good things in this movie, but I don't like that Johnny has soo little importance and, honestly, the fact that Dennis has his power in the end just defeats the message. Plus don’t understand what was the point when Mavis just accepts so easily to stay in the hotel. The grand grand father storyline was lazy and rushed, just to give a common enemy to everybody. I think that overall the first one was better writtend a structured. This has more heart but a LOT of issues.
