Good to see you’re reacting to the first _Despicable Me_ film and for Illumination’s debut animated film it’s easily one of their best. I really enjoy Gru’s evolution in the film that he originally wanted to steal the moon to become the greatest villain once again and decided to hire the girls just for his own selfish reasons. Eventually Gru starts to warm up to the orphaned girls and eventually become their adoptive father. Looking forward to the rest of the _Despicable Me/Minions_ films and apparently it’s worth noting if you notice the animation quality and frame rate of the first film to the later Despicable Me/Minions sequels it’s very noticeable considering the first film had a $69 million budget while the Despicable Me sequels/spin-offs had a $76-$85 million budget hence the movement and texture of the first movie being more like a direct-to-video or a CG TV series quality.

If they want something, they take it. If someone is in their way, they remove them. If something interferes with their plans, the obstruction is dealt with. Swiftly. Brining up how they're the kittens is exactly right. You can tell by how the color of their clothes/PJs match the color of the kittens' fur. It's absolutely a beautiful way of story telling. 🩵
6:33 yeah she is totally exploring them for free labor😂 I like Despicable me 1 had great dark humor for families nothing too awful just rude and mean. And the following movies are lacking that edge the first movie had
So, I really love how they show that Gru came to adore those girls and when it came down to it, he had to choose between being a villain or being a dad. He had the wrong choice basically made for him, but he more than made up for it.
"I didn't know there was a return policy for orphans" that's a wild sentence
Love this movie, and im enjoying it watching movies "with you" more and more :D And its kinda foreshadowed that Gru is a good Dad since he cares so much about every single minion and even knowing everyones name from the very beginning of the film :)
My ranking of the franchise
1. Despicable Me 2
2. Rise of Gru
3. Despicable Me
4. Despicable Me 3
5. Minions
These movies are genuinely good, they’re great fun to watch!!
I have some recommendations for movies for you to watch eventually!

Granddaughter has three Minions stuffed animals\plushies. Adorbs!!! Steve Correl does Gru's voice!!! Terrific👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I've been watching Cocoa Couch since you've reacted to ATLA and now you're watching one of my favorite franchises! Despicable Me and Minions is fantastic. I want to recommend a show called A Series of Unfortunate Events if you're looking to add something to your list. It's a grim but hilarious tale based off a series of books that it adapts pretty well.
This movie was great, 2 was a perfect sequel imo.
“AHHHH CURSE YOU TINY TOILET”
i love your videos! i'm not sure if anyone else said this or if it's right, but when i saw this as a kid, i thought it was dr. nefario that called up the orphanage to have the girls return, which made me really sad!
i don't really like a lot of illumination films, but i forgot how special this one was to me. it used to be my dad and i's favorite movie! just seeing the clips of gru reminds me so much of my dad. i appreciate you reacting to this movie!
It WAS Dr. Nefario who called the orphanage. You’re right!

To reach the door knob
Started watching these movies after I hit 30 I think...Loooove them a lot!!!! It's crazy how much a grown up woman can relate to three little orphans xD LIke, I'm literally a mix of these girls....always annoyed & trying keeping shit together, fascination for "violent stuff" & "too cooL" and I LOVE unicorns xD
I love your reactions so much. It’s like watching a movie with some guy I don’t know but it’s awesome
37:44 idk if you noticed but you can see that vector painted the pyramid to blend in to the ground and sky
