(Serves 4)
This recipe is inspired by an abundance of plums in season. The crumble topping is a gooey soft crunchy crumble that goes well with cream or custard.
You can replace any of ingredients with alternatives to suit your needs.
𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠:
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup plain flour
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
60g plant-based butter/ margarine, melted
𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠:
500g plums, cut in quarters
2 tbsp caster sugar or to taste
1 tsp cornflour
3 tsp water
1 tsp orange-blossom water
1 tsp rose water
Need 21x21cm deep baking pie dish
🔥pre-heat oven gas 4/200C/180C fan
🍑 In baking dish, add plums, sugar & cornflour water (in small bowl mix cornflour & water together then add to plums), mix well & place in oven for 30 mins to soften fruit.
💚 topping - in a bowl, add flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon & melted fats & gently mix well.
💖 after 30 mins baking plums, take baking dish out & gently mix syrup created then add 1 tsp each of orange blossom & rose waters. Gently mix well again.
💙Next add the topping by spooning over fruits, ensuring it’s quite loose & not packed in.
💜place in oven on top shelf for 30-45mins - helps to make a crisp topping. Once cooked, allow the dish to cool for 10-15 mins. Serve with cream, custard or ice cream!
