I blow out the air filter and change the fuel filter also. The I check the tire pressures give things a look over and that's all there is to it.
    -Enjoy!

I have the older version of this tractor (B2620) with the same D1105 engine. It has been fantastic. I love how easy the loader and mower are to attach, and the machine is very DIY friendly to service. I did the same thing with the filters, except I dropped my new filter in the drain pan haha, ended up changing all of the fluid in the process. For the oil filter I use the Napa 1334 as it doesn't rub the radiator hose.

Hey Eric…..that inner filter is your final means of stopping dust getting into the engine. If the outer filter fails then the inner does the protection. Never blow clean the inner filter. Every time you take your air filters out you risk getting dust into the engine. If the filter housing has a restriction indicator then don’t take the filters out until that pops red…..cheers from Australia. 40 odd years as a plant mechanic working on heavy machinery. Retired now and enjoying your clips.

Then I clean that dust sock before every session, plus clean/wipe out the filter box. The sock really helps keep alot out of it and make it easier to clean. Just a quick tip from personal experience, If your tires are loaded with calcium not rim guard, Jack up the rear wheels, put the valve stems @ 12 o'clock and change the valve stem cores every year. Mine started to leak after checking air pressure because the cores corroded from the calcium and at that point were almost impossible to get out due to corrosion. The valve stem is rubber and brass but the cores are pot metal.

Thanks for posting. I just did this service on my B2601 today. I also went ahead and drained the entire hydraulic reservoir then changed the filters. There’s three drain ports one near the mid PTO and the other two are on the low points of the Rear axle housing (rear final drives). The fluid looked clear as it came out but once collected in a clean container, you could see some break in contaminates. Anyway, that shouldn’t have to be done again until the 400 hour mark.

Kubota builds some great stuff. I've worked with these engines, in a variety of applications, mostly on generators.
I saw one on an inter-island Bahamian freighter (old landing craft) generator that had an estimated 50K+ hours. Only time it was shut down was to service it. By the time I got to it, it was leaking oil from both the front & rear seals, throttle and stop shafts from the crankcase pressure.

To make the mower deck last longer, pressure wash then touch it up with primer on any nicks on the underside. Dirt & grass hold moisture which shorten the life of equipment. It is also easier to work on a clean machine.

FYI, 24:55, the hydraulic cylinders on most equipment (all of yours, I believe) are double acting, so if they were in service when disconnected, they'll return equal volume of fluid that is pushed to them. If you have cylinders serviced or purchase new , make sure both sides of the cylinder are primed full to avoid air lock , fluid depeation, & dry pump. Love the after hours vids & the peek into the domestic life.

The old hydraulic trick, my hardest part on my LS tractor was getting the main hydraulic filter loose. Idiot's put them on then paint the tractor. My hydraulic main filter is twice the size of yours. My fuel filter is on the firewall and the hood doesn't come up very far and I think they cross threaded it, so was a pistol to get off. The first one i bought at the dealer in Florida, the price of it should have been plated gold. It was like 90 bucks. This spring I had to replace a pipe that runs from one side to the other, under the transmission. It decided to leak where a tab welded on that bolts to the side of the transmission. I had to buy 4 different pipes to get the one I needed because that's how they bag them. I know that's where they make their money.

On the reefer units the Kubotas Oil seals (rear main and front seal) are common along with cracked exhaust manifolds.
Where the Yanmar on the ThermoKing have head gaskets fail quite often. Water pumps fail more. They have updated the WP's over the years to increase volume but the new units are still having problems. Reefer engines only run on two preset speeds though and will shutoff in high speed like 2200 rpm

When I changed the hydraulic filter on my BX2680 I pulled the filter screen out of the side of the transaxle without thinking about it and drained the whole hydraulic system...ooops....needless to say I had hydraulic fluid everywhere as I wasn't exactly prepared for that. So at the 50 hour service I changed the engine oil/filter, and hydraulic oil/filter, oh well, its all done and ready for another several hours. I was planning on changing the hydraulic fluid anyways, but was planning on pulling the drain plug on the bottom of the transaxle but hey, saved a step...I was surprised though the filter screen barely had any debris on it, other videos I had watched prior showed their screens caked with debris from the manufacturing process.
I'll follow my usual oil/filter intervals I use on my other lawn/garden equipment...change the engine oil/filter once a year regardless of hours of use. The hydraulic fluid/filter I'll probably change every couple years.

I take care of my brothers BX 23 for him. The one thing I hate about the BX series is the HST fan is plastic and not protected. He blew the fan off of it when a piece of brush got up into it. I replaced the fan and bought a skid plate that mounts to the mower pivots. Other than him flipping it and every other abusive thing you can do the BX runs great.

I have the skid plate for my BX2680 as well...takes a couple seconds to remove, but several minutes to install...thanks Kubota for a janky mid mount mower lift system...thing is a piece of crap, and no matter how you adjust it something is out of adjustment somewhere....so it makes putting the skid plate on quite a project as something in the lift system isn't right, to be able to get the lift mechanism locked in the TOP position. Even the dealer can't get it right.

An air filter restriction gauge on the filter housing is your friend. I put them on all my OPE.

Love the little Kubota 3cyl... cute as a button... had one in an Onan 12.5kw genset... started at 5degreesF for me once, second attempt, with the 20w oil in it. Maybe you could put a shop vac on the dipstick tube to keep the hydraulic fluid from leaving?

When I do the maint on my old mans Kubota,I pour the hydro fluid out of the clean pan and through a paint strainer(autobody grade) and put it back in.

Yes, trans and hydrologic fluid expand when hot . Never fill to the top. Fill to safe and run then check

LOL, they don't expand as much as you think, filling them to the full mark is perfectly fine, that full mark takes into account the "expansion" of the fluid...not to mention with hydraulics you lose a little fluid when you are swapping implements....transaxle and hydraulic system have the same fluid reservoir.

Referring to the oil filter hose arrangement,I’d be ordering 4 hoses to put in stock. Lol
