Cut the scrap parts into small cubes, put them inside a pillow case and sew it closed. Stores actually sell pillows made from those scrap mattress parts.
Greg, I am totally digging that sir. I've been trying to figure out a way to do something like this for a while. Genius man. I really like how you put an affordable budget to things so it's not a ton of money for your projects.
problem i found with toppers is they get warm to sleep on...tried different sheets, no go...also if ya have bad joints ie hips and such...also not good to sleep on....ive even put a seperation under it for cooling ..no go..its the material the chines use to make the thing it just gets hot....lol cool vids thks for sharing..
@@G2Outdoors That would be especially suited to us old-timers, old joints & bones, and toss and turn sleepers. You're still a pup, G2Outdoors! Nice job in explaining it all. Thanks.
Ummm....You may want to re-title this to "How I cut up a mattress topper and had my friend do the hard part by sewing a custom cover that I don't actually show"
Picked up a queen foam topper on Craigslist for 10.00 today. Home Depot wanted 25.00 for the same foam in 24 inch wide slivers. Would have to sleep sideways and straight as a board.
Dude this is brilliant. I'll probably end up doing exactly this. Thank you! I'll make sure to credit back to you in my video about the car camping set up.
I rent a room and don't wanna eat a lot of space with a full-on bed , so I have been sleeping on comforters laid on carpet for years. This gave me a great idea to do what you did to use at home with a comforter laid over it , and when I get up , just lean it against a wall for max space !
How can we reach "Carl" to sew a custom bedding cover for this???
"My friend Carl..." 🤣

Excellent video!! Straight to the point, hits all the info marks, perfect visuals, and ALL in only 3 minutes!!
How wide is your platform bed? It almost looks like it's about a twin size... 36 inches.
What is the material you used for the flooring in the truck)
Dude that’s a cool mattress cover. I checked out the TETHRD website but don’t see it -how did you make that!
How much do you paid for the memory foam?
I'd give that 2 enthusiastic thumbs up, but it only let me do one!!! Killer man! Thanks
Appreciate that!!!
Awesome bed! Was looking for ideas and found the right one.
Would like to get some of that bedding fabric. Do you know where to get it from? Love tethrd and would match my hunting gear
I think that friend now has a business opportunity based on your build dimensions I would love to have the same cover made without the badging

Yup...normal people pricing.
@@G2Outdoorswhat’s the weird ellipsis for? Lol
Love this idea. My concerns would be in cold weather camping.... wouldn't the memory foam get super stiff? Would like to know your experience.
I spent 10 nights in it. The lowest temp was 34. I was totally comfortable with a sleeping bag.

Did you find anything that worked?
GENIUS! I am totally doing this. Thanks for the idea!
Does your hip bottom out on floor when on your side?
Yeah it did. I had to increase the foam to about 6 inches.

That "waste" piece would be perfect to fill the small gap that my fold-down seats create!

How did it turn out?!
I’ll be doing it this coming week
Nice work!
Thx!
