He came to town in '74 with his city street stage and dancers. A little weird seeing dancers at a rock show but hey, it was the great Bowie and he was in town

About 1990 I saw that Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter were playing that night at a cowboy bar in Fort Worth, Texas, where I’m from, so I went, alone, and paid at the door. I was so glad I did. The show was very good, there were no assigned seats, so I walked up and watched Ronson play. Afterwards the musicians didn’t disappear; they opened longneck beers and became part of the bar crowd, talking to everyone. I saw Bowie in Austin on the ‘Let’s Dance’ Serious Moonlight Tour, right after he fired Stevie Ray Vaughan! I got to see Stevie many times, but not that night. The thing that made Stevie maddest of all was that in one of the music videos Bowie acted like he was playing Stevie’s guitar part. Ha! I like your taste in music. It’s similar to my own. “His ego divorced him.” That’s good.
