Swapped fn and ctrl keys are a must on thinkpads! The position of it is just right regardless if you press it with your thumb or pinky - you do not need to move your wrist for reaching the ctrl key as opposed to the fn key. If you try to reach the fn key multiple times a day without moving your wrist, you'll sooner or later get RSI by repetitive ulnar deviation. They did it right for programmers without drastically changing the keyboard layout like HHKB. People swapping them back should not consider a thinkpad at all.

I feel like that's a minor feature to disqualify an entire product line.

10:30 the right ctrl key is positioned perfectly on these thinkpad layouts underneath the /? key and is one of my top priorities in a keyboard! I use the right shift and ctrl key for every combination where the left hand is involved

the tex is too loud for office environment - i have the good old lenonvo trackpoint sk8835 full size, been using it for 15 years now, and i simply cannot find a real replacement for it, nothing fulfills its function, it is the holy grail of keyboards to me

10:25 - That's your problem: it looks wild to me trying to press the Ctrl with the thumb instead of the pinky finger, as it should be. It's a completely irrational and clumsy trick.
For me, this keyboard can not be the main one also for the reason that for me it is absolutely essential to have a numeric key pad.

It seems You are using left ctrl more then left alt. Also You are clicking left ctrl with your thumb. I think it would make sense for you to switch ctrl and alt keys. It can be done on Windows with autohotkey, on linux I think it can be done with xmodmap.

@@techmo2020 If you like it you should know this rabbit hole is deep. I have my caps lock mapped to backspace, '/' key replaced with right shift (so right shift is as close to my pinky as left shift is), '"' key (quote key) mapped to enter, and then some ctrl + something shortcuts to be able to type quotes and also ctrl + something to be able to type esc more easily. For some of that I needed sharp keys application on windows and autokey on linux. Have fun

Thank you for showing me this! I was looking for something like this but didn't hear about this one until Google showed me your video. I've heard about people clear-coat painting their black M13 keyboards which also had the problem of the white color on the key caps wearing of, maybe that is what would make this keyboard a perfect one. What do you think?

How are your labels now? I'm really thinking about buying the keyboard but hearing you say that after two months they already started to fade kind of concerns me. When I'm spending this much money I want it to last for a long time not only for a couple of months

    • @techmo2020

After around a year, of using it almost daily, all of them are still there. There are a couple of letters that are not as shiny as others, but I doubt they will wear off completely anytime soon.

Hello! you said you have used many of trackpoint keyboards. Can you say how many keyboard exists with trackpoint? When I was searching for, I found only lenovo & unicomp.
And a question to the k-board in this video. Doesn't you touch the "mouse" buttons, when you're writing? Cause I think they could be a little bit lower. Not so hight to the other keys.
    Thanks!!!

My laptot dosn't have a trackpoint. And don;t have a wifi-bluetooh card and a screen anymore. So I use the VGA to put the video-signal on a external monitor)). In short I use my laptop now like a keybord without screen.
Or a PC like)) So I want an external PC-keyboard. But I hate mouse, and touchpads. A trackball is .. Not sure. But a trackpoints seems very interesting for an eficiency work. So I'm looking for a homePC keyboard. At this time I would buy the unicomp EnduraPro. If I had the money and it is possible to bring it to my country.
