I love how u teach and run things thru laundry to show us. Most ppl don't show us the after. Thank you for that.
Any time!
I agree. Subbed bc of thorough instructions, tips, honesty and the washes. Thank you!!❤
It's rare that I'm waiting for a video to release but THIS video has been on my wish list since the product released!
We crafters are so lucky to have your videos. Thank you. I feel I can try your methods with confidence.
Your method of teaching is amazing! You really get down to the nitty-gritty and cover all of the bases in your tutorials. Thank you!!
Yes! And without all the unnecessary talking!
Great video tutorial!! You always bring us the best and most honest testing. I'm so glad you like this new DTV. Thank you very much!!
💖🥰🤗👏🏼👍💯💖
Glad you enjoy it!
Super detailed video! Thank you for sharing Angie!!
Thank you for everything!
Wow! Your research, instruction and detail on how to use this is amazing. I learned a whole new way for shirts and other objects. This product and method would work really well for a Print and Cut design that is impossible to change into a Cut-only file for Infusible Ink because of its being too complex to break down. Thanks once again, Angie!
FANTASTIC video! Your videos are my favorite! Can’t wait for your new book to come out! Congratulations!
Thank you!
Hi Angie, I love how you give the facts and don't get side tracked with animals walking around or other distractions. The other great thing is I trust what you say because you do all the testing and research for us. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you! You make everything do easy to understand and learn.
I love your videos. You thoroughly explain things in a fun way. You are a natural born teacher.
You are a very kind and generous person. I appreciate all your help and ideas!
Wow, thank you!
I'm excited to give this a try so glad you did a vid on it
thanks for the wash comparison and the list of other products comparison. Really appreciate that save on the experience and cost of fails just trying to learn as much as i can without costing me as product is very costing Ive ordered and excited to try
Glad it was helpful!
I'm so excited for this I just ordered some! I'm a little tired of all the things I have to do with sublimation.
Angie, You are Fabulous!!! Your videos are so clear. You should be a consultant! Excellent!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I just got some of this through Amazon so I’m super excited to try it! This video was helpful because this didn’t come with instructions at all. I’m definitely subscribed!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Angie! I just bought a bigger printer. Was heading to printable htv, dark starcraft. Found this video...now going to try this. I guess sublimation is the best, not sure why I'm not going there...yet. I appreciate you sooo much. Always looking for your advice and guidance...still feeling new, but launching a mini store to my pet care business ❤🐾
Excellent and very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial!! You are very helpful!!
I have watched sooooo many videos, and ask the same question. THANK YOU FOR BEING SO EXPLICIT about what side to print on.
You are so welcome!
Angie, I have other instructors for trying new things, but after I watch their videos, I ALWAYS look for your video on the subject so I can be sure I'm doing it right! The way you explain all the "how to's" makes it so easy to understand. Thank you so much for all your help. I can't wait to get your book!
Thank you!!
Thank you for all the information.
I was looking for which side to print on and found your video. Thank you for explaining
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much for the great information!
Thank you! Always love your video!!! So
Much helpful
So glad!
Love your video demonstration. Awesome job! That said, I would not recommend this product if anyone is planning on selling t-shirts or other washable products. With all the hype, Siser Easycolor DTV isn’t a replacement for sublimation ink printing what most RUclips Content Creators had stated. They’re pushing this product as if it is the answers for sublimation ink printing replacement, it’s not! The product is good but not that good due to short longevity after a few wash. And the cost? It is way overpriced for a product that will only last after a few wash. The manufacture cost per sheet to make is around $0.03, but the retail price is anyway between $1.70 to $3.30 per sheet -CRAZY! Anyhow, if anyone planning to use this product for selling t-shirts or other products that will require wash will not be fear to the buyer, they will be disappointed after serval washings and may never buy from you again.
I can see Siser DTV would be good for any products that does not require washing or just a few times during the years, handbags, wooded plaques, canvas art work, book covers, hats, lampshades, stuff animals or dolls clothing, etc…. So yeah, I would highly cautious to reconsider before investing and compare your other low cost options that will provide longevity on most materials. Again, this is for those who are sellers and your reputation is the key to success 😎
I currently have my shop set up to go through Printify. I’m going to start selling other stuff though and was looking into making my own shirts. I want it to be shipped together. Do you think sublimation is the best way to go?! I’ve watched so many different videos, but still don’t know.
Thanks for sharing! I'm excited to try this product because you don't have to mirror your images!!
Awesome I love this product.
Me too!
I really really like this!!! I’d prefer it it came in smaller quantities so I need to consider that. Thanks for another great tutorial!
Heat Press Nation sells a 10 pack for $20. Use the new customer $10 off first order code. They may be restocking.
@@cmrod228 thanks
Expressions Vinyl sells it by individual sheets for $2.70 each and the TTD mask for $1.50 per sheet. In the long run it's more expensive individually. If you buy the 50 pack for $85.00 from heat transfer warehouse, it comes out to $1.70 per sheet.
Thanks Angie! I bought some but have yet to use it so it’s good to know about the longevity of the product!
Hope you like it!
Interesting. I did a small image with Starcraft and I was pleased with it. And I've probably washed more then 15 times.
Thank you for telling us the difference between heat transfer PAPER and heat transfer VINYL. A lot of products mix their words on the label to trick you into one vs the other.
You bet!
I think I just printed on the wrong side. I’m glad you made this!! Should’ve watched before, lol
Finally an explanation to BLEED
Thanks, very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video thank you
3G Opaque is dead to me lol. That stuff WAS the defacto material since 2009 to present, no more. Firstly, 3G had to change its backing paper years ago due to some lawsuit, so transfer tape no longer works with it. Second, it turns into a raisin after a few washes, not something you'd want to sell even for novelty... Gave Siser's EC DTV a try, blown away. This is the real deal. I think this rivals that of solvent printed vinyl t-shirt transfers on something like a BN-20, and I'm only using Epson's in house pigments (t542 bottled ink on a CISS with a wf-7610).
It is really good!
Another amazing video! I found if you turn the material inside out when you wash it. It seems to last a little longer.
Good to know!
Thank you love this
So glad!
Thank you so much, this was just phenomenal! I can see someone said it seems to last longer when turned inside out. It might also help washing it before you put anything on the shirt. That way it will have shrunken the normal amount before you press anything on. Don't know if you did that or if this makes sense. Just a tip😅
I generally DO NOT do this for testing. Some people don't like to do that before selling a shirt.
great teaching video
Glad you liked it!
@@AngieHolden you are welcome honey
When are they going to listen to us about wanting a much larger print and cut area???
I appreciate your frustration but this is not a channel operated by Cricut. I can't do anything to control that.
@@AngieHolden I know, but perhaps one of their top people will listen. I have very few gripes about my Cricut. Overall, I love my machine. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. It helps tremendously.
I agree. I hate how they limit the size like we all just want a small image. Some images need to be big especially when doing a larger shirt. I thought about writing to cricut about this matter. I usually just use another printing method where I can make my image bigger.
@tashanet I literally just bought a Silhouette Cameo 4. Not because I don't like my Cricut, but because I've beat the poor thing to inches of death. Her little rubber wheels are worn and concave. I'm hoping the Silhouette print and cut is better. So far cutting has been fast and so smooth.
Yes please
Thank You! Siser does not give really clear instructions for this product. I really appreciate you walking though process....and the laundry test.
Glad it was helpful!
I think it’s a great option for those who don’t have the equipment for sublimation.
Definitely!
So the ???? Sublimation on dark shirts and cotton? What’s the best way
EasySubli is my choice for dark colors. I actually like clear dye sub for light colored cotton.
@@AngieHolden so basically your doing normal sublimation(which is awesome) in whites and light colored then u use easy subli for your darks?
Also I seen this new product THERMO-ADHESIVE SUBLIMATION FABRIC it’s like a 💯 poly on a transfer sheet, any thoughts?
Thanks Angie I’m new and love all your videos, I just got a maker and a ink jet printer for Easy
Dtv! I would like to offer sublimation but trying to figure out the darks.
@@AngieHolden what is clear dye sub ?
I'm excited to try this! I don't tumble dry anything with cotton. I wonder if that would improve longevity.
It might!
If you watched the siser video demo for this product, they said you can change the look for your design
If you want a glossy look, use a teflon sheet to cover your design
If you want a matte look, use parchment paper
Good to know!
I like it, I did have an issue with dripping a little water while brushing my teeth and my image was less than 24 hours done and you could see the drops, thankfully it wasn’t totally noticeable on the shirt but really be careful near any water before that 24 hours!
Yeah, I wouldn't wear it at all for the 24 hr waiting period and then wash and dry it before wearing. I think it needs time to wash out any excess ink that is leftover.
Interesting! Thanks!
Thxs Angie
Once you've pressed your shirt, how long did you wait before laundering it? I wonder how long it takes for the inkjet to cure.
Thank you so much, Angie, for this video. You are an asset to all crafters. 💖
24 hours.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Hi Angie, on the 15 wash shirt could you repress it on the same settings to re-seal the edges? Thank you so very much for all you put into your tutorials.
Yes you can!
Thanks Angie - love you videos! I have learned a ton and reference them all the time!! Quick question - Siser states the temp should be 311 for 15 sec but I found mine to start peeling up (using the Cricut heat press). Is that why you have a higher temp and longer press time for the Cricut heat press? Is there that much difference?
They sent me a sheet with recommendations and what I used was for a handheld press.
Awesome video especially the wash testing! What’s your feeling about using a color laser jet with ghost white toner and transfer film?
I have not tried anything with laser/DTF.
Thanks for another great video. Do u think that, once it starts to degrade, you could use the iron behind the transfer hack to remove this vinyl and be able to re-use / re-press the shirt with another design?
Maybe?
Thank you again for all your hard work! I love the idea of this but don’t like the cost!
Anyways that’s not my question, have you used this w/ the silhouette? The program seems easy to me
I have not but I am sure that would work.
😊 thank you
You’re welcome 😊
I would love to see if this would work on faux leather or real leather. Great video!
Great suggestion!
What are your thoughts on Easycolor DTV vs Easysubli? I have both inkjet and sublimation printer. If you want to make another gnome shirt which would you prefer to use?
EasySubli lasted longer in my tests.
Great demo and review.👏🏽👏🏽 Did you wash your T-shirt before applying the product? 🥰🙋🏻♀️💜tfs
I did not but they were all shirts for crafting which are generally pre-washed when you purchase from a store.
Hi Angie. I did purchase the Siser Easy Color DTV and pressed my first 2 shirts. Before I pressed, I did see a few reviews where people ended up in the rain and the color was dripping from their shirts. I wore the shirt I pressed last night. While making, it printed awesome, no issues weeding and no issues transferring. All was good until I spilled some water on my shirt. It had water spots on my dad's face. I washed it and alot of the color did wash out on first wash. I had another shirt that I added the Easy Color on and threw in the dryer hoping that would set the ink. No, it didn't. As soon as it came out of the dryer, I put some water on it and sure enough, the ink was dripping from the second shirt. Wondering what you did different. I used an HP 7100 printer.
I saw someone say to wait like 72 hours after pressing? I don't think I waited that long though!
@@AngieHolden I reached out to Siser and they said to use the plain paper setting. I honestly cannot remember if I used the plain paper setting or not. They also recommended to wash it first and let all of the color bleed out before wearing. That seems as though I will lose alot of the color but did a test today and will wait 24 hours as Siser recommended and see what happens. I will report back.
Please do! They do say plain paper setting. I remember that!
@@AngieHolden Ok, so I waited 72 hours instead of 24. I put it through a quick wash today. Have not dried it yet. I do have to say that the color does look good and actually better than before I washed it. I'm impressed with the image. Except...the HTV did bubble up in a couple of places. It may be that the material I put it on shrunk. But, the image is much better than I anticipated. I was ready to take this HTV off of my list but I think I will give it another try. Suggest that the fabric it is being put on is washed and dried before application to avoid the bubbling.
Do you have a video on sublimating on a cotton shirt using a poly spray? I’d love to see how it turned out!
I have a video but it didn't actually work like I wanted it to! ruclips.net/video/HwKqdtIWBYg/видео.html
OK, it's been a year since Siser came out with this. I've just bought a 5pk of the DTV and TTD, and I'm not happy with what I'm seeing. Please tell me that Siser has made major improvements on this...i.e. easier transfer sheet transfer (no lifting from carrier sheet), longer wear (more than 15 washes), etc. Surely, in a year, with all the complaints, they've done SOMEthing to improve this product. Thanks for your awesome videos and product tests.
I haven't seen any changes to it.
@@AngieHolden So basically, using the TTD is still a nightmare. OK, well, that will determine how I use my 5 sheets of EasyColor DTV, and probably keep me from buying anymore. THANKS! LOVE your videos!
So I am assuming this new DTV easy color can not be used on wood metal or plastic as can sublimation any indication yet. Thanks again for all you do.
I think it would work on wood but not sure on metal or plastic.
Love Your videos! What if you only have a Laser Printer? You didn't mention so I'm assuming no? Do you have any suggestions or good tested alternatives if this can't be used on a laser?
Thank you
I don't have anything that I know of!
Thank you for this tutorial Angie! Do you think that maybe if you use a heat press instead of an easy press, the color will last longer, through more washes, since there is more pressure applied? I've heard that it's supposed to last about 50 washes. Have you tried the product with a heat press yourself?
I can only say what I saw after 15 washes.
Great video! Do you by chance have a tip on lining up clear htv with sublimation print? I had success, but it was time consuming and my brain just isn’t thinking of an easier way. Again thanks for all the great videos.
I don't really! I have a hard time as well!
@@AngieHolden just saw a video with some clear film and powder. Stay tuned! I am labeling myself as your unpaid intern/researcher hahaha
Be careful with the powder! I am concerned about the safety and health concerns with that one.
@@AngieHolden that’s what I’m reading up on. Have a few friends in bio chemical field looking at it.
This was amazing! I tried another kind of transfer paper last week and wasn’t happy. Ordered Siser…what a difference even in cutting. I do have one question. Is the temp and time the same for sweatshirts. I haven’t seen anything.
It should be the same.
Angie, what am I doing wrong? I have a "heat box" on my shirt after pressing. I assume it was too hot? Will it come out?
Probably the shirt material. Sometimes it comes out after cooling down or washing.
Hi Angie! Would this work on hats? Thank you for introducing this material. 😁❤
Yes!
I know it says it's not for sublimation print, but wondered if you could try a sample and see if it will work.
EasySubli is specifically made for sublimation. I don't think I will be trying the EasyColor with sublimation.
wonderful instructions,!! only thing I am not sure of was how to get to the move object to arrange on less mats~ if you help tell me where to find it would e so appreciated!
Click the object and click the three circles to get that option.
@@AngieHolden than k you so much!! what a help!
Thank you for your video on Siser Easy colorDTV. Where can I get the sgv for the gnomes?
I have the designs linked in the description below the video.
You also did a test that involved easy subli. If you have a sub printer, is your sense easy subli or DTV is a better long term option? Or is it about the same?
EasySubli performed better for me.
How would this product work on the waffle tea towels? I have a heat press to apply the product with so I can get more pressure if needed.
I think it would work fine but I have not tried it.
Just ordered some! This seems to be thinner than EasySubli.
I would definitely say thinner.
Hi Angie, Thank you for your videos. I used my epson ecotank and the color washed right out. I contacted Siser and they said I needed ECO Solvent Ink. Is that what you used? Thanks
My ink is pigment or dye based. Just a regular HP inkjet printer.
I made a t-shirt using Siser DVT and love the way it looks and feels! However, I don't think I pressed it correctly and some of the design corners are lifting. Is there a way to re-press it? I tried just using my Cricut Heat Press, but the hole design stuck to my butcher paper!
I use a teflon sheet over it and repress. Be sure to peel it off when hot though!
Do you think this would be durable enough to use on Backpacks? They aren't washed as much but wiped clean
I think so!
I use it with my sublimation ink.
I would use EasySubli with sublimation ink as that is the product that was made for sublimation.
I am new to everything and I tried the DTV on a 100% polyester Dri-fit shirt with the easy press on 340 *F for 15 seconds and I have a square outline on my shirt. Was I suppose to lower the temp so that I didn't burn it or did I use too much pressure using my body weight to press it?
Some shirts will leave a press mark. You can see more here: ruclips.net/video/SzyFsf85uvk/видео.html
Hi I'm in UK and find your videos extremely helpful. I brought DTV from UK Supplier but they do not have the Siser heat mask. Can I use the backing from an HTV sheet thanks
You can but I am not sure if that will be enough to pick it up. Do you have any heat masks of any brand? I don't think it has to be the Siser brand.
@@AngieHolden love your videos, I am also in the uk and recently purchased something similar called subli-jet htv and I’m guessing it works the same as the siser dtv, my question is also about the heat masks as the pack never came with any, I’m wanting to print a written image that would require a mask but was wondering if these can be purchased separately and where/what to look for, also are the masks reusable? Thank you in advance for all the help you give to us starting out x
Question, I saw in another video that after been applied and waited to be washed, the ink was bleeding out (she sprayed water thinking it wouldn’t do it but it did) has that happened to you and what recommendations you might have
I haven't seen that happen as long as you wait the recommended time.
Okay, can you use a sublimation printer on this product to print the design? I might think this would be a way to sublimate on a cotton product.
I would use their EasySubli product for sublimation. This product is not made for sublimation.
Thanks for this very helpful tutorial Angie! What's the font you used with "creator"?
It is a file I purchased.
It is a file I purchased.
Would applying heat to the vinyl AFTER the multiple washes possibly help with the longevity of the product?
Also, it appears that products such as this, would create an issue for those who sell their creations? How do you justify, to the customer, that the longevity and durability of any apparel will have a limited lifespan?
I agree with you. I would not use this product to make and sell items. A waste of money and materials for such a limited life span.
I am not sure if applying heat would help. I would doubt it.
If you are selling your items, looking into products that require more investment is fine. I cover several of those on this channel. However, I also need to cover products that are intended for a home crafter.
@@AngieHolden I appreciate that you do cover so many products, that is why I follow you. This product has potential for personal items, I hope that something like this continues to improve. Maybe, eventually, this product will improve in longevity.
Last time (a few months ago) I did a print and cut it tried to cut each individual piece of the drawing separately. I had to cancel, go back and make a box around the outline and flatten in order to avoid that. Is that no longer necessary or did I do something wrong?
I watched a video the other day where the gal did flatten the image, which happened to be three words. She also applied the mask to the uncut image prior to cutting to help prevent the curling of the edges on the intricate cut.
You didn't do anything wrong! It depends on what you are making and the look you would like. I wanted each piece cut separately for these projects.
Could I use DTV to print out a photograph on my ink jet printer and iron it onto a shirt/ cotton tote bag, etc? I just got the teflon sheet so do I need to order a mask as well or can I just use the teflon sheet?
You can! The mask is more if you need to move small pieces. No need if there is just one large piece.
I have an odd question which side do I put the DTV into the printer? I know I need to print on the white side, but I’m always worried I’ll print on the wrong side because I put it in wrong lol
That depends on your printer so I can't answer that. Your printer should have a little diagram that shows you. Or you can can print a test page on plain copy paper to check.
Have you tested the Avery Dark Transfer Papers? How would you compare it to Siser's DTV?
Generally transfer papers do not last very long at all. I haven't tried Avery specifically but I have tried a few versions. This would last longer.
I used the siser dtv and the image was beautiful everything looked great , a day later when I wore the shirt it rained and there were water spots on the image and the ink bled 😔 I did use HP inkjet to print the design so I’m not sure why this happened
You have to wait 72 hours before using this product.
Hi, long time subscriber, new crafter, what is the difference between this and sublimation? To me a newbie, it looks the same?
I'm about to buy an ink jet printer here in Australia, do you think a Canon pixar would be ok?
Is the expensive ink jet printer always better than cheaper one?
Thanks heaps
This sits on top of the shirt like HTV. Sublimation embeds in the fibers. Sublimation would also last longer.
If I have sublimation printer what do you recomend me using on a black shirt?
EasySubli works really well!
Hello. I printed and pressed on a white shirt using my HP inkjet printer and the Siser DTV. After roughly 48hrs I washed in cold water. When I took it out of the washer the ink had bled onto the shirt.
Do you have any thoughts on why??
I definitely haven't seen that issue. Maybe contact Siser and see if they can tell you if you have a defective package?
I wonder will it hold up after many washes like the HTV.
I did a wash test in the video.
Can you use any heat transfer mask or does it have to be the one specifically for the dtv?
I only tried the one that is recommended with the DTV. You can definitely try others. I think they would work.
When I print mine on my epson eco tank the print is not dry. And the dtv I got I have to print on the gray side. The shiny side is the plastic. My colors aren't near as bright. But I do have sublimation ink. Does that matter?
First, this product is NOT for sublimation ink which is probably the reason you are having issues. You need regular inkjet ink.
Should the shirt also be turned inside-out?
I did on mine. Generally that will help and I turn all of my inside out.
What temp and how long did you press the polyester shirt?
Can you press this in sections? I have the Cricut 5x7 Easypress so couldn’t do a large designs.
Yep you can!
I have a round Image that I want to make Larger than the Cricut limits. Can you make larger than mat images and merge them together on the Mask material? (I'd have to slice through the image and I am not sure if that would be super visible or not.) These are for shirts for Adults so 6.75 is a tad bit small and wastes a ton of material!
Yes you can slice though and do that. However, it will be visible on your final shirt.
