EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this video erroneously stated to use Siser's TTD High Tack Mask for Siser EasyColor DTV. This is incorrect. Instead, Siser strongly recommends using Siser EasyMask which is NOT a high-tack product. We regret this error and have re-uploaded the video dubbing over the "high tack" remark to avoid further confusion.

When I'm doing a word phrase do I have to flatten for print and cut???
Sorry to correct you but you don't need the mask for the design you have made. The mask is for more intricut designs, like words....
And if you use baking paper on top when pressing, you will get a matte finish, where as if you use a Teflon sheet, you will get a gloss finish...
If you chose to use the mask it will be glossy but you can matte it out with a 10 second extra press with baking paper.
Very versatile and I'm a bit of an expert on this siser dtv. Cheers
An experts advice is always welcome. -M
Is there a tutorial I could watch or follow on using the DTV without masking? Thank you
@maddiemaddieeee print and cut the same way all you do is peel it off the paper and apply it straight to your shirt. And press.
Which eco-tank printer did you use and wow good job thanks for sharing
Eco tank 2800 series
This that sublimation ink or regular ink?
Hi Yasmin it is regular ink jet and we used a epson printer.
can this be used on wood?
Yes. While we have not personally tried it ourselves, we know Siser has tested it on wood and have said that it works. 👍
Does it matter what side of the paper you use?
None of these videos talk about the plastic layer on the DTV sheet. Is that the print side, the back side? Does it peel off????
@kathleenreyes9661 the clear sheet is to help you transfer your image onto your shirt, once you press it you can remove it
Thank you for this video! I bought this product and it came with no instructions. I appreciate you!
Thank you Tammy. You are appreciated right back! -M
That’s going to be so tiny on a shirt if we’re being honest it’s only good for kiddie shirts and small crafts
Actually no I have made up to xl shirts and they look great
Could try being creative with multi panel
This is a GAME CHANGER! Cant wait to try it
We here at CCG think the same way, Brett!
Hi.. I use an Epson inkjet printer however I am getting blurry prints on this product.. have you any advice??
No special printer needed?
Correct! Just a regular home inkjet printer will do! 😀👍
@@cleancutgraphics6498 nice. Thanks
30 year old picture? Stop telling tales! You're not 30. Thanks for the tutorial.
Help literally just got this product prints full color 310 15 seconds medium pressure but when I press it is changes color
HI Den Den,
Would you please send us an email with pictures at customerservice@cleancutgraphics.com and we will work directly with you to get this resolved. As this is a brand new product, we are learning too. Let us help figure this out with you to get you up and running asap. -M
What side of the paper should go to the printer?!
i would like to know the same. is it the matte side that gets printed on ??
You print on the white matte side. The back side is a light grey frosted sheet.
How long will the ink last on this dtv?
When I use paper transfer, it lasts about 10 washes and the ink fades.
20 washes is what we are going with. Total game changer from Siser!
@@cleancutgraphics6498 wow only 20?
I have seen 15 washes, 25 washes and even 50. I think it would probably depend on a number of factors as to how many washes
Why you mask it? I Print and dont have to mask. Or whats wrong with me?
I can’t wait to try this! It’s perfect for my upcoming girls Disney World trip😄
Hi! This may be a weird question, but is the heat mask transfer reusable?
Good question?
I tried tonight, and it didnt come out well. I had ink left on the next print
I can’t wait to try this out!
Hi what printer setting do u use? Plain paper? Matte? Photo quality ink jet?
You can use the plain paper setting and you would want to do it at Best Quality
@@trishfrench1927 i did that and got lines through it
Hi so we can use ecotank printer? How is the wash test?
Your instructions are easy to understand and follow! Terrific -Subscribed!
Thank you so much! You are appreciated. I will pass on to Carmen for sure! -M
What's the difference between this and printable htv
Why did my sublimation ink smear?
In order for it to cut around the image, do you need to attach it to a "background shape" how does it know to cut around the people
You have to have the image already setup cut around the people and saved as a png file before you load it into the Cricut software.
Awesome ❣️
Is this sublimation ink or regular printer ink? Also how does it wash ?
This is not sublimation ink. We used a regular home office inkjet printer. Wash has been tested to around 20 or so washes before any color loss at all!! Pretty impressive stuff!
@@marchague3105 very impressive yes!
I have searched everywhere and cannot find answer as to whether or not you can sublimate on this. It is making me crazy tht I can't find an answer anywhere to this basic question
great video thank you. howdy you like the printer you have the eco tank looking for a new one?
The EcoTank is pretty good! We like it. 😀
Do you use sublimation ink or regular printer ink?
regular at home inkjet printer
😀
Thank you this was awesome
Can you cut the vinyl in a Glowforge as you can with the HTV?
I would imagine the glowforge would work fine. We have not tried or heard yet, would be interested in hearing from you after you have tried some. -M
Can the image be press on a 100% cotton using the DTV?
Yes !!!
Tried Siser DTV I will never waste my money again. it took me 3 trys with 3 sheets to put one image on my tee shirt. and this paper is not cheap, image would not stick to the transfer sheet which was absolutely useless. Your video was clear. but the product did not work for me.
I just bought an Epson ET3850. Could you do a tutorial of your settings for your printing for DTV please? 😌
This isn't done with sublimatiton. It is an inkjet printer
I have the same printer, I tried to do it and my paper got stuck. I need help!
How are the black portions looking so good on yours like in the hair. I've found that when I do it, the black portions turn slightly grey-ish and really glossy. Maybe just my printer? Awesome video by the way!
which side did you print on??
You want to print on the white or brighter side of the DTV. Carmen says to fold it back on to itself about half way so you can see both sides together... print on the lighter one. When all else fails peel the tiniest bit back on a corner and make sure you are not printing on the clear backing. -M
Can you use sawgrass sublimation printer with this paper?
In short, no. This is for a regular common everyday inkjet printer.
I am so excited to try this product
How does it hold up in the wash?
Siser reports upwards of 20-25 washes without any color fade.
wowo
Which side do you print on
@@crystaljohnson2004 You would print on the matte side of the sheet. The glossy side is the backing sheet.
Can you use regular ink for this??
A regular desktop inkjet printer will work.
Is this paper only to be used with sublimation ink or can it be used with infusible ink markers?
What side goes up you didn’t mention it in your tutorial
I love I really want to order it.
This product is going fast... I thank you for your order, it is ready to ship out today! Let us know what you think and what awesome projects you use the new DTV on. -M
Do you use a regular ink jet printer? No special ink?
Use 6.75 x 9.25 that’s max size for Cricut
what paper setting for the printer please? mines coming out with lines through it. ive tried plain paper and photo paper. MrCrafty Pants reckons matte photo, but i dont have that setting
It's not the settings, the lines mean your printer nozzles are clogged , you should do maintenance on your printer until you don't see anymore lines.
I love it but how did you get it to cut around the image without the white background? Thanks for sharing and oh! I have a maker 3
Hi Tonie! For the purpose of this tutorial, we had the background of the image already cut out ahead of time using the Quick Select tools in Photoshop. Cricut does have a background remover but you of course have to pay for it. There are however a good number of free mobile apps that remove backgrounds of images as well as a free background remover from Adobe which is accessible online when you create a free Adobe account: www.adobe.com/express/feature/image/remove-background
Thank you for your reply and I didn't realize it was just removable background
You still have to use print and cut.
@@Diiverse or scissors
Plus... love your nails... lol trying watch video but your nails so pretty... watching video again.. 😆
😊 thank you
Why don't they have bigger sizes?
What printer are you using for the DTV
I just bought this product this weekend and this tutorial has been super helpful. Many thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Is that regular printer ink?
Have you found out yet?
@@bezcustomz yes it is inkjet
Hi siser has not responded to any emails. Is it siser ddt that I need to purchase. My order arrives tomorrow for the direct to vinyl. I do not have a way to transfer it.
Siser ttd easymask is recommended for Siser dtv. You do not have to mask it but it does help keep things aligned. If your design is one cut line for example, you can peel it off by hand and lay it on your shirt to press.
It does stick to the transfer paper 🙁🙁
What this difference between this and printable htv? Or is dtv just another name for printable heat transfer vinyl?
Hello there, I think the term printable htv in the craft industry means for the mot part you can print on it and put it on a shirt. There are Dark Garment Heat Transfer Paper - From She Shed Vinyl & Design, also a 3G opaque paper from Neenah that works similar with inkjet ink (I wanna say it is called pigment ink technically). While this is technically not vinyl it is treated much the same. Other forms of ink transfer, eco solvent, latex etc can print directly on vinyl but they are the large format more bulky expensive machines which is not feasible for most of the everyday crafter.
Now this Siser Easycolor DTV is actually vinyl that will hold ink from a common inkjet printer. You get the ease of printing from home, full color, gradients, pictures... unending possibilities design wise WITH the quality and ease of use of vinyl. It is stretchy and has been tested to hold full color for 20 + washes.
This product is a game changer for sure!
-M
Do you have to use the siser mask with this?
Yes
@@littlema3201 the siser brand or just an htv mask?
We do recommend the Siser EasyMask for this product which you can find on our website here:
cleancutgraphics.com/products/siser-easymask
If you do choose to go with a different brand, just make sure it is not a high-tack mask.
The mask is really for images that are intricate, like a lot of lines, layers etc. For the image that Carmen used, you really could just peel it off it's backing and place right onto your shirt or whatever else you are using
Where did you get your table
How come we never se the important videos ? HOW DOES IT LAST AFTER SOME WASHING ??
20 washes
25 washes as per siser
I have it and i dont like it at all
What did you have a problem with ?
@@carmenrodriguez2015 I get this spots on the image where the ink looks faded
😂😂😂 no way I’d pay for that
Is this a sublimation printer or are you printing using sublimation ink.
Hi Lisa,
This is an epson eco tank printer using standard inkjet ink that comes in the box. Nothing special other than the new Siser Easycolor DTV product! This is not sublimation ink.
Can this be used with ink jet printers
Yes it can! 😀👍
When I cut on my cricut it 'perferates' around the image, not really cutting it. Because of the stretch it stretches the vinyl out and I can not use it. Help please!
cut out by hand
Sharpen your blade and don't use fast mode
how does the circuit know how to cut around the image? Like the part between her neck and his jacket sleeve? And could it cut closer so that the white line seen next to their hair can be cut off. Thanks :)
It's the way I saved the image cut out that way. And to get rid of the line by the hair you can calibrate your machine for a better and closer cut.
On your cricut make sure your bleed is turned on. That eliminates the white
How are you sending it to the cutter without it being vectorized?
Print and Cut can be done using PNG. SVG is not the only file you can use
Couldn’t get the siser dtv to stick to the carrier. I used up all my test dtv sheets and just couldn’t get it to stick to ttd. 😔
Hi Joey.
When using the EasyMask it does require using a squeegee to apply. EasyMask is also not going to be as sticky as the high-tack mask, so it might require a bit more elbow grease during the application process.
You can also use this without a mask if you want to manually line up your design.
What kind of mask are you using?
Ttd easymask is the recommended mask for dtv.
one more ? how are you cutting without using print and cut with registration marks. another ?if its one piece why do u need the masking paper sorry just learning
Greetings Norine.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we already had the background of our image cut out ahead of time using Photoshop. The registration marks you speak of are because you have to pay extra to have backgrounds removed from photos in Cricut. Thankfully, there are plenty of free mobile apps that remove backgrounds from images as well as a free background remover from Adobe which is accessible online when you create a free Adobe account: www.adobe.com/express/feature/image/remove-background
As for the EasyMask, we do recommend using it for ease of use but also because the EasyColor DTV is very delicate & thin. High-tack masks are not recommended. You can locate the EasyMask sheets on our website here: cleancutgraphics.com/products/siser-easymask
@@cleancutgraphics6498 I usually buy my designs from ESTY just wanted to know which file or does it matter. I usually buy the svg files so I don’t have to trace but since I would just be printing this and not using my cameo ? Thank you for the quick reply
@@norinemueller4588 Whatever file is compatible with your Cameo software should work just fine. Just follow the Print & Cut instructions for Cameo and you're good to go! 😀
Is this sublimation ink in the printer?
no, it has to be inkjet i believe
So this (DTV) is sublimation? Print with sublimation ink?
It's the same process as printable vinyl, so you just use a regular inkjet printer
Direct To Vinyl. It's printable vinyl. Regular printer and ink jet are used for this sheet
New to sublimation, do I need a sublimation printer or just a regular inkjet printer?
Regular inkjet
Just a regular inkjet printer. Sublimation printers are not recommended for this product.
Does siser sell bigger then the 8.4 x 11 ?
For now, they just have one size, but Siser has indicated that they will start offering other sizes in the future. 😎👉
This is on an inkjet printer? Thanks
yes
Can you use sublimation ink?
HI Mikala, the Siser DTV is made for regular everyday inkjet printers
What type of Epson printer are you using ?
In this video it is an Epson Eco tank. Nothing special other than it is Carmen's regular desktop printer. -M
@@cleancutgraphics6498 so it's not converted with sublimination ink correct.
Which blade did you use for this? I watched another video and they used a 45-degree blade.
In this video, we used a standard blade. Nothing special. 🙂
Blade depth would be dependent on the thickness of the material and intricacy of the cut. For 90% of craft projects 30,45 or 60 degree blade will work. Always do test cuts first.
Does it work on cotton
It presses on 100% cotton perfectly!
I’m so excited for this product!
Is the Siser Easy Mask reusable?
Hello Rocio,
You can probably get an additional 1-2 uses out of the EasyMask, but obviously not as much as you would get from a high-tack mask. As a friendly reminder, we do not recommend using high-tack masks for this product.
You can continue to use it as long as it is sticky, be it 2 times or 10 times
Do you have to use a heatpress machine or can an iron or mini heat press can be used?
While we do recommend a heat press for best results, a home iron & mini-press can also be used for this product.
Until there is a clear answer to settings for all types of heat sources (because the temp, pressure and time settings are different for an iron than for a heat press and different than the Cricut or other brand for an Easy Press, Easy Press2 or Easy Press3) you should do tests with which ever heat source you have
Do you have to change your blade in circuit to cut easy color dev?
DTV
Not at all. We used our standard Cricut blade.
Thank you so much 😊

@@cleancutgraphics6498 thank you! The only thing is it doesn't look shiny like vinyl. It looks like printable vinyl.
Meagan, are you referring to the matte or gloss look to the end design?
The SSV Paper and the Easycolor have different feels and can be used together to make part of a design stand out from another, apply at different temps so less scorching possibilities with the DTV.
Another nugget, use Teflon (PTFE) for a glossier look and parchment paper for a more matte finish as a cover sheet. -M

For those that want to maximize the use of one sheet of DTV, especially when using the Cricut and their max of 6.75x9.25, if you have some images that can be smaller, you can use the entire sheet by placing the smaller images to cut in the remainder
