@@billmatthews5593 thank you. I got an Epson and been using it. I just don’t like how Cricut limits he size of the print. It’s a waste of paper. I’m looking into getting another cutter like the cameo 4. I dont think it limits like how Cricut do. You use any other cutter?
@@jayswish22 NO, But there are ways around the limit - and use another software (Inkscape). Check out you tube for HACKS to get around the limits..tried it once - worked OK...
Good hack for Masking the EasyColor DTV is letting your print sit overnight. This will allow those heavy saturated prints to let the ink gas out more. Although it still feels dry, the ink is also potentially still damp. Hence, why it may not mask as nicely. Also, a suggestion we have is that you wash your garment after 24 hours of application. Which will also wash away any potential residual ink. ALSO, you can make your finish Matte with parchment paper :)
Thank you so much for these tips! Just so that I'm clear, I would transfer the print onto the garment, remove the transfer mask and then heat set it the next day?
@@kwoie4536 no, you would wait the next day to do the "masking" portion. So, you would print then cut it....then you would let set over night.....then go back and weed it and mask it and transfer it.
thank you for the info!! this is super helpful since I just bought some of your DTV and had no idea how to use it!! maybe some instructions in or on the package would be helpful for people who aren't as tech savvy as I am lol.. just a thought! Love you guys!! 🥰 keep coming out with the bestest stuffs!! lol
BTW, these are the best sheets to use for t-shirt, period. I've been using them for a while, they are an absolute replacement for 3G Jet Opaque (never use that stuff again), and in some cases, JPSS (for white shirts), I'm having better luck using DTV on both lights and darks. Great stuff.
Yes parchment for matte and teflon for glossy. That's what Joe at Siser says. I've seen so many of his videos on the DTV. I have the dtv just no idea what I want to use/print on it.
@@katherinefowler6942 yes if you need to use the mask, that's if you have lots of pieces. If it is one solid piece you can peel off from backing and put on garment and use parchment paper.
When i applied cover sheet i used a pastry roller and the transfer came off very easily and for my second press i used parchment paper and it gave it a matte finish
I’m buying this stuff asap! They sent me a free bundle of htv for extending my creative fabrica and inside was a flyer advertising this stuff and I about fell over! I’m so excited! There has to be a way to dull that shine though! I feel like it’s the mask that made it glossy, have you done anything without the mask? ❤
I have found if you take your scraper or squeegee from the front facing you print up... if you haven't reused it alot....it will come up easily. But I have used the same sheet alot of times. it is not the funest thing. Also... it does not bleed the ink into the shirts that are on the mask...which is great!!!! I love this stuff!!!!!
I had some difficulty getting my print to stick to the special transfer sheet as well. The partners at 143 Vinyl reached out to me and suggested that since I printed using the best quality, that next time I should let it dry 12 hours before trying to stick the transfer sheet to my project. I love the results of my shirt even though I had a hard time with it.
@@ChristyManneringscrink I think I am going to try using a thinner (18 lb )paper. I have been using 20 lb. paper and I think it takes longer to dry all the way.

Omg Michael you're amazing!! I just bought some Siser DTV and was wondering how to go about using it, since it doesn't really come with directions!! And I LOVE that design!! I just recently learned how to make my own tie dye affect on the computer so I'll definitely be trying this out 😍🧙♀🎃
If you hadn't "dyed" it would you still need the mask? I don't sublimate because I don't have the equipment for it plus because I don't know how 😢.. but can you do a video on putting designs on mouse pads please?
I know you have a scan n cut machine. But I have not seen any videos regarding the use of the machine. There are so few creators who do videos on the SNC, I think that you would be great at videos teaching and using to its full potential. Is there a way you could consider it OR are you contracted and under strict rules with Cricut? Thanks! Glad to have found your channel 😀
6:02 PREACH! I hate it too! 😡 But you calling it silly is actually a nice way of putting it. I have other choice words for it. 🤬 But thank you for this video. Very informative! 💛
Hey Michael, could you recommend a printer that is maybe a little more wallet friendly than the one you're using? Just wondering if there is one out there for less, but still have good quality for printing especially on dtv? Thanks for any suggestions!
Monica I would recommend the Epson ST-C2100 from 143Vinyl. I'll link it here for you :) You can use your Crafty.net membership discount for 10% off, or you can use code "crafty" to save 5%. Hope this helps 🤩go.crafty.net/epson
Trying this for the first time. I hit slice and nothing happened so I kept trying now its sliced 100x lol. Started over, sliced once, taking a long time. Is this normal? Yours seemed to do it quick. Thanks!
I have an Epson I converted to sublimation. I know I can't use that. So I bought Siser DTV and tried it with my ( admittedly , very cheap HP office printer) quality was awful, even tried changing setting and wasted a second sheet. So My question is, do I NEED to buy a second EPSON? Anyone get an HP to work?
You can get a set of 5 sheets each at Amazon. Not too much of a difference from 143 vinyl. I will use mine very selectively as it's def more expensive than regular printable vinyl
I just ran my image twice on the Easy colour DTV and it did not print the colour, but on paper it did print as was on DS, and on other Iron on transfer paper. so annoyed as it is not cheap.

Finally! someone uses DARK tee to show us. How many of us use black tees? and yet most videos shows white tees. thanks!
They say to use parchment paper for a matte finish and Teflon for Glossy finish. That's what I've heard from other videos.
I was about to say exactly this! ☺️
Thanks for the video y’all, as always, great video!
Being a witch, this SVG calls to my heart. I just bought the Siser DTV to do shirts for a business, but can't wait to make something for myself.

How does one upload the files to cricut?
Can you use the mask tape more than once?
Red colors gets darker after ironing, like burnt, i use Epson printer original inks, and iron 15 secs at 302 degrees.
How does this compare to the Starcraft for dark materials printable transfers?
Mat Modpodge maybe?
