Hey Jon, I'm an engine cooling engineer at Toyota. Just want you to keep in mind that you're blocking off close to half of your grille with this light bar, and if driven in hot weather or under very strenuous conditions you might run into problems. I'm not saying this as a PR person of anything, just a concerned engineer 😂 the grille is open a certain amount for a reason!
@TRDJon sorry, I missed that you mentioned it somehow. Yes, the grille shutter does shut at higher speeds, but after low speed activity that would heat the engine like off-roading, the idling condition might be worse where the grille shutter is open.
Hi Jon, Thanks for the great video and the lead to Redline Tuning for the hood struts! You are 100% correct, Toyota ought to had hood struts as factory installed. My 2024 TRD OFF-ROAD is missing memory function for electrically adjustable seats, worse omission than the struts as it is like a five to ten dollar switch. Beyond these two more or less minor short comings, the truck is a beast and I am very happy with the power, performance and capability! Keep up the great videos🎉
I took a gamble and tried Triple R lights.. and I don't regret it one bit. They focus more on Rally lights but I put in their 24" Linear Elite on my roof rack and I don't regret it. Not quite as bright as BD or Rigid but they're also not as expensive.

I mentioned this in the video a few times. But the truck has a grille shutter that will shut anyways a highways speeds to my understanding

We shall see. I see no real difference in this or the TRD Pro on that toyota uses that blocks pretty close to the same amount.
@@TRDJon glad to hear!
Hood struts a must ! Love that Taco you are building 😊
Thanks so much.
Hi Jon,

Love that! Will do!!!!!

Nice touch by toyota having the prewired aux buttons. I had to put a 6 way blue sea fuse box in my Tundra
For sure. Pretty cool option
Finally its easier to spot a skinwalker with your light grille mod
random question...but what workout rack is that in the background, looks clean and minimal
Thanks. It folds too. It’s from
Rogue.
Are we gonna get a follow up to your Stillen Intake video with a full review?
It’s from Sxth Element. But yes
Is there a link for the low profile ditch light mounts?
You can find them on Cali raised as well. Sorry. thought i linked them. But use the link in the description and code to head on over to their site.
So nice they made that stuff to fit🤙✅
For sure! Very oem plus style of a look
I also did a review on my channel for the hidden light bar as well as the same fog lights, these are absolutely fantastic products.
Your video was great man.
@@TRDJon Thanks!!
Very nice! Can you install a couple raptor lights on non PRO tacoma?
Yes you could
The bird in that big tree 👁👄👁
lol 😂
Good job, well done!
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it
Damn dude that’s bright. Might come in handy when someone in front of you insists on driving 5 mph under the speed limit. 😂
Hahahah I will most definitely be using it
Someone going 5 under doesn’t give you the right to blind someone. Grow up, reckless driving isn’t cool.
Do they offer an actual fog light for that location?
Like a yellow light? Yes
@@TRDJon no, with a proper cut-off line, so it doesn't blast light upward.
That’s how the light is. You’d have to look for a different brand or just leave them stock
What I find surprising is Toyota could not afford to put OEM hood struts on a 50K truck.
*Ditch Pods are so stupid, Why can't you stay out of the ditch?* The passenger light output can;t even be seen from the drivers seat.
Yes it can
Better off saving $$ for when the transmission blows up.
Why? It’s under warranty
Hey turd jon if you really want people to save money you should tell them not to buy the Toyota Tacoma 4th generation 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well considering this mod is for a 4th Gen Tacoma, that suggests they already bought it and are maybe looking to modify it.
