They definitely have a LOT of work to do. I have a 64GB iPhone 12 and I reset everything last month (June 2023) And if system data didn’t exist I would be able to store more!! Resetting helped but then it started eating up again and being a 64Gb iPhone, 9-10Gb of system data is a LOT. I only have like 100 songs downloaded and compared to my mother (64GB 11, she has just as much as space as I do) while having 8,000 photos and 50-60 apps.
Thank you for helping me reclaim over 20 GB of space on my phone. I do believe it’s important to mention one downside of automatically offloading apps though. If the app is removed from the App Store and you have offloaded it for some reason, you cannot reinstall it, even if your personal data is left on the phone. At that point, you were just forced to delete the app altogether. This may not be a problem for major apps like Facebook or dropbox, but it is a huge problem for smaller apps from independent developers. I have lost several cooking apps that way. Since I didn’t remove them from one of my other devices, I still get to use them on there with no problem. That makes me really sad. 😞 for that reason, I only offload apps manually, and I’m only willing to offload ones that are backed by large companies with deep pockets that I know I can reinstall. I wish we could go back to the days when you could download an app in iTunes and put it on your devices so you wouldn’t lose an app because Apple through an app out of the store for not updating an icon or because now they’re on a cycle where you have to post updates every few months or get kicked out of the store. Again, thank you for helping me reclaim some space on my phone. :-) Music was the big culprit for me as well as a lot of podcast files. I haven’t been paying attention to them and didn’t realize how they were creeping up on me.

Please slow down! Especially when jumping around from setting to another section of the phone, from 1 app to another. For the last two months my storage has been extremely high and for the previous month my system data was over 80GB. Time after time I tried to delete anything/something to get those numbers down. After watching this video I deleted apps I no longer use and then cleared the Safari cache and a few more=My storage was reduced to 19GB of system data-AMAZING!

Finally I Removed my iCloud Lock google iremover I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is. For example 1:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 3:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation
This was friggin AWESOME! The time you took to explain it step-by-step while actually showing the steps on the iPhone itself was SO valuable and the steps themselves were impactful because so much of this is not really explained to you. For example, I had no idea that the phone kept so many copies of everything. Not to mention that when you delete something it’s not deleted until you permanently delete it. Thanks again!!😊
As a RUclipsr who had trouble clearing up storage and always getting that Clear up your storage notification, I would always have to delete some of my favorite photos and delete my games and apps and redownload them! This really helps so much.❤
I love my iPad and I always will but I'm still wishing Apple simply becomes GENEROUS with storage like Android has done (support for affordable 500GB -1 TB external storage) instead of all these prehistoric offloading tricks and reluctant deleting. But it's understandable since they want to delay such basic features for iOS 50 or whatever just to ensure future selling points.

I removed the icloud lock from my iphone 14 using iRemover The iPhone 14 is my first flagship Apple device. Coming from a Pixel 7, I have a few observations. The battery life is awesome, speakers are solid, Bluetooth connectivity is seemless, and the screen is smooth, despite coming from a 90htz display on the Pixel 7, I haven’t really seen a huge difference on the 60htz screen on the IPhone 14. I absolutely love this phone.
I did all this. My main issue is understanding the sync option. I have read that if i turn off icloud sync for photos, delete photos on my device and then turn on cloud photo sync again, cloud will update to mirror my iPhone (meaning it will update to look like the iPhone photos, including the deleted photos, therefore it will delete). I don't know if this is true, but I don't know how to remove photo from my device and not removing from cloud. I also have google photos which crashes, onedrive which fails to upload and google drive which is always paused. Amazon prime photos is very slow to upload and is still trying to catch up, but i need to delete a lot of device photos quickly and don't know how.
Please explain/ clarify as to why you I would turn ‘ON’ Lossless Audio. It clearly reads; Lossless files preserve every detail of the original audio. Turning this on will consume significantly more data.
Any videos/ pics deleted from your iPhone will be deleted on iCloud as well. When you unsync the cloud to your phone and delete any photos/videos , when you turn on sync again, the photos you deleted will be gone.
Anyone else having issues with a lot of these options they are going over not showing up in their settings? I'm currently on 16.5.1 and so many things that are being covered in the video aren't even an option for me when I go to the different menus in the settings, storage, photos and music options.

Nothing of what I have heard on this clip works that well. You might get some space back, but I’ve done all of the above, and my iPhone will eat 10GB of system storage/Ram a day! Maybe its just my phone, but a backup and erase is the only thing that is for sure gonna get rid of system storage to my findings.

Question about the last part...I have iCloud sync on and this makes all my photos sync to my Mac photo app already, which makes me wonder if the photo app is my computer storage or iCloud storage? So, wouldn't importing from iPhone to the photo app create duplicates? And if you have icloud sync on, when you delete the photos off your phone, doesn't it also delete them from iCloud? What would it take for apple to make this easier?

iPhone Xr here. 64GB (archaic, I know - it was handed down to me by Fred Flintstone) - anyway. 64GB is actually only 59.55 capacity, according to iTunes, and the actual biggest culprits are iOs 8.92GB and system data 8.82 GB - that's nearly 20 GB without any apps, songs, photos, videos. How do I reduce these? Clearing the Safari cache made no difference to system data. I tried other app cache, too. Thanks for the video.

The very last part where you mention to clear the photos from your phone by downloading them to the Photos app on your computer - after I do that, I will not see the photos on my iphone? only in the Photos app? but if my phone and computer is syncing with icloud won't the photos still appear on my phone in the Photos app? Slow down the playback speed.
Changing the play back speed on the RUclips player is a great way to get all the info

is there really no other way to delete documents and data of photos i only have 155 images in my albums but it takes 8gb
Any videos/ pics deleted from your iPhone will be deleted on iCloud as well. When you unsync the cloud to your phone and delete any photos/videos , when you turn on sync again, the photos you deleted will be gone.

I tried the Compress Image Shortcut, and to my surprise, it increased the file size rather than reducing it.

I was only interested in how to download full size photos from iCloud to PC or MAC, but you only showed how to download the optimized versions of the photos. The smaller ones that are kept on the iPhone. How do I download full size photos from iCloud to PC or MAC? They are needed for printing. Thanks.
A quick question, does the iOS storage increase each and everytime an update is installed. Say for example, when one iOS is 17.5 updated to 18, will the storage increase when its at 17GB, to 20 GB? Thank you very much in advance. By the way where is the other David ;)

I'm really confused as to how my iPhone syncs with my iMac desktop now that Photo Stream is going away. I have more than enough storage shown on my phone for iCloud but it doesn't agree with my iMac's messages on iCloud. I have no idea why it doesn't agree when it's all the same account. HELP.

Question about the last part...I have iCloud sync on and this makes all my photos sync to my Mac photo app already, which makes me wonder if the photo app is my computer storage or iCloud storage? So, wouldn't importing from iPhone to the photo app create duplicates? And if you have icloud sync on, when you delete the photos off your phone, doesn't it also delete them from iCloud? What would it take for apple to make this easier?

I am working to import my photos onto my Mac as to free up space. However, the “Delete items after import” did not show up on my Mac when I went to import my photos from my iPhone. Should I just delete the photos manually in the Photos app since it didn’t show up or…? Thanks for all this help! Truly appreciated!

iPhone Xr here. 64GB (archaic, I know - it was handed down to me by Fred Flintstone) - anyway. 64GB is actually only 59.55 capacity, according to iTunes, and the actual biggest culprits are iOs 8.92GB and system data 8.82 GB - that's nearly 20 GB without any apps, songs, photos, videos. How do I reduce these? Clearing the Safari cache made no difference to system data. I tried other app cache, too. Thanks for the video.

No it will only remove the downloaded file, the music will remain in your music library.

The very last part where you mention to clear the photos from your phone by downloading them to the Photos app on your computer - after I do that, I will not see the photos on my iphone? only in the Photos app? but if my phone and computer is syncing with icloud won't the photos still appear on my phone in the Photos app? Am I thinking correctly here?
