ALL iPhones FIXED: Photo Album & Recently Deleted Album is Empty But Still Taking Up Storage Space

- If you deleted all your photos and videos from your iPhones photo album gallery and the recently deleted album but storage has not decreased then watch this video closely. This will work for all iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches. Note that on previous iPhones the fix was setting the date and time back one year. However for some reason this time it did not work setting it one year back, instead i had to go three years back and bam...... storage space finally decreased!

I think it’s crazy how the iPhone could make it so hard to delete pictures. There should be some lawsuit because this is forcing the phone to become obsolete

Update: I figured it out. Backup with iCloud for your photos and stuff, then reset your entire device.

It worked! Thank you. I didn’t think it would because I went back three years and there were only like two photos in “recently deleted” that I had deleted yesterday. But I still deleted and turned my iPhone off and then back on and this freed up a ton of storage for me. Thanks!

Had this issue with voice memos - as I was deleting them the occupied space doubled - I changed the date as you mentioned, and from 10GB become 4.2GB - but I ended up deleting the app and reinstalling because I cannot afford to lose4gb when where are 0 files. Thanks for the suggestion

you can delete in batches like 500 photos at a time or less and then wait for 10-15 seconds for it to be finally gone

That means your iCloud storage must be full and it just automatically permenatly deletes it instead of going to recently deleted

Brother Xoli If it didn’t work for you, that doesn’t mean it’s bullshit. Try going to icloud, photos and turn off icloud photos (this will delete all your photos so if you want to keep them, back them up onto ur pc and after turning off icloud photos restore them.)

Awesome video. Changing dates alone didn't work for me as my issue was not with photos but with Files App showing 8GB when it was empty and Voice Memo taking 1.04GB when it was also empty. While my date was June 16 2016 I went back into Setting>>General>>iPhone Storage and deleted the offending app Voice Memo and Files App and immediately got my 9GB space back. Put back date to today, restarted the phone, installed Voice Memos and Files App back. All Good!! Thank You Thank You. BTW I had tried all this with current date with no success, so I know the date thing helped. Had been at it for about 3 weeks now.
Loool. For some reason, it worked for me. I’m using an iphone x and before I did the tutorial, I got 20gb on photos, and now it went to 2.95gb, which is understandable because I had some videos stored. Thanks man!!!

So November 30, 2023 I decided to try these steps on my 13pro(128GB) and at first I didn’t think it worked so I went back to present time then went forward to 2027.
Hrs later my storage started picking up and STILL CONTINUING days later !! Today is Dec. 4th and I’m at 54.5GB from 127.9GB!!!!
All my pictures are back and my phone is doing GREAT and I didn’t have to take a dreadful trip to Apple store!!

@@kahlonnfn no sadly I had to buy more iCloud storage so it’s that iCloud+ thing and had to wait a whole day to have it sync to it and that cleared it it brought it down to 368MB…I have an iPhone14 so I don’t think this method works with it because the recent deleted album was locked and didn’t let me put in the passcode
