- Make the most of a small workshop and maximize the use of a normal handheld belt sander with this jig.
I don't have space for large equipment so I made this jig as a simple substitute.

the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.
Not only an excellent craftsman! We tend to forget sometimes how much work goes into making these videos. You put together some of the finest videos with awesome editing skills!
damn i love the idea of things being 'stored' properly but still accessible to use right then and there! im so happy this channel exists :)
This has to be the best conversion of a belt sander on you tube. Really cleaver design. Well done
Nice. Perhaps make the fence curve around at the end, to make use of the curve section of the belt? This way it can be used on internal curves when in the horizontal position. Shouldn't interfere with the use in the vertical position.
I just put mine in a 3 inch hobby vice. The sander is held by the handle, and the position can be adjusted to different positions. I don't usually use a platform to work off , but this is an easy improvise.
I don't know why manufacturers do not make these jigs. They would be a welcomed accessory.
Absolutely Brilliant! Thank you.
Your whole setup is amazing. You make me feel like an idiot as I have the same space but can not fit my toys in properly
For fellow South Africans I found t nuts and screw inserts at Gelmar
Thanks for the info Martin, was wondering where to find.
Don't worry, we are two!
@@mogbaba Builders Warehouse stocks T-nut inserts, but I would shop around for better prices. In fact, anything you find at Builders you can probably find for cheaper elsewhere.
Simply brilliant! Good stuff!
I'm in awe! Great design and video.
Another great idea, explained and shown clearly, love your vids mate, given me ideas to keep me going in my garage workshop, stay safe and keep em coming, thanks for taking the time.
Amazing build - as always :)
My first thought in regards to the vertical/horizontal function would be to have them both accessible with french cleats.
Cutting out a section of the vertical cleat and running another one horizintally would allow you to simply 'flip' the setup on the wall.
Cheers
Lekker idea, love your work !!
Brilliant design, I'm impressed.
Very clever design. Great job, and thanks for sharing!
Great space saving idea, excellent design. Thanks for sharing. Until next time *Chris*
Once again: INGENIOUS! I adore the French Cleat solution! The idea is simple and obvious if you think of it, but to get such an idea just shows how ingenious you are.

This thing is awesome. ..so versatile
Brilliant, best jig I have seen so far for this purpose. Especially the French cleet addition, and the ease of getting the sander in and out of the jig. 👍

So perfectly done.
Superb idea, and excellent planning.
simply the best ! Amazing job !
Really great build!
Love it. Great job.
I would have made the latch swivel 90° from how it now functions. That way you can put the beltsander in the holder and then put the latch over it without having to worry about the cable.
Nice work and a very handy extention of the tool.
Fantastic design
Great work Jean. Compact and efficient design fir a small shop. The likes of Matthias Wandell and John Heiz have serious competition in you! I’ve got the same belt sander. Would you share your plans? I am obviously prepared to pay for them. Keep up the good work!
This was a great and ingenious design

Wow! Very cool as I am currently using my handheld belt sander in a vice and wishing I had a fence. This is exactly what I was hoping to do myself.

Very nice jig you made.
that's absolutely genius😲...thx for the idea
This was smart.
I was thinking of doing something like this with my Electric handplaner.
Love it!! Great job.
Well done and inspiring!
About corded tools and the issue you had with cord, I am sharing with you an idea from Marius Hornberger: I have cut my cords at about 20cm from the tool and installed powercon connectors. Now I have a short (2 m) and a long (5m) electrical cords and easily disconnect/reconnect most of my corded tools (such as belt sander, circular saw, jig saw, router, reciprocating saw, pole tree pruner...)
That moment at 12:12 when the fence can be swapped to be oriented either direction! 😍 Great video - best one I’ve seen on RUclips so far!
your designs are genius, i just started watching your content and im inspired to do this project .
Another well put together video with yet another great idea well executed! 👍🏻Love your channel and loving your work, keep it up bro 👌🏻
Keep up the good work! I love this channel!
I just love this! I've been looking at many ways to enclose mine, but this is the best one I've seen. (I'm going to attempt to deconstruct the plan it for my own-wish me luck.--Unless you have plans you would sell.😉)Great job, as always.

You are the king of the French cleat.

Now I know what to do with my old belt sander and my French cleat wall. Thanks again for your ideas let😀
Excellent project!
I love how you're like "ahhh this is something I didn't plan for"... this idea itself is incredible, I wouldn't be able to make a plan for what you did!
You are an artist
Super!!!! Amazing innovation.
Best solution for belt sander I've ever seen. In the name of John Heisz, you are genious!
Thank you for sharing this awesome tool-gadget-system for a belt sander. This is exactly what I need to have in my small workshop. Please keep making many more projects which are always inspiring to me.
