I'm a professional photographer, and I must say that not only are you a clever and skilled woodsmith, but you've made a video that is JUST RIGHT - not to much time on each step, just enough to show exactly what is happening, No shaky camera shots, very well thought out. Refreshing!
Hello I really like your videos but I just do not understand almost at the end of the video, so are the two screws with butterfly thank you very well all your videos so please follow
I like how yours fits in to an actual stand that provides clearance and ventilation underneath. Also, the addition of the two bolts to keep the sander centred.
Great video. I've seen a couple of these, but yours was the first with the built in sliding mitre. Ingenious! I never would have thought of that. Also, just subscribed. Thanks for sharing.
awesome work, btw, just a tip- if you use a piece of rectangular steel the same width as the groove in your T slot you can drill and tap a hole in it, doesn't dig into the wood with the corners like a square nut does (or you can epoxy 3 nuts in a line and use the middle one), just keeps it smoother over time- awesome video, take care :D
You Tube is a wonderfully tool in it's owen for wood worker's the lad's do some AWSOME jigs for us .The belt sander well that will be done over the weekend thanks to you Tube and the wood workers .
I admire your skill, your planning and the finished platform. I am puzzled by how you, seemingly, glue THEN screw (with woodscrews, not drywall screws, which afford more thread area). Some of the steps I see as out-of-order, but you have crafted a very well-made and functional addition to your shop. Bravo.
Cool project. Now is someone could devise a way to make one of the oscillate. Or better yet devise an effective dust collection system other then the bag. I have a 4x36 Harbor Freight sander that I have been trying to figure out how I might tear it apart and create a sander like this. Charlie
This is a cool project and it was well done. I would still use a low cost belt/disc model. The sideways orientation makes it harder to use the full belt and I'm personally not too worried about my fingernails :)
Just curious as to why you rub down the ply with turps is it ? Doe's it make a difference to the adhering process when sticking neoprene/rubber to wood ?
ive got one of these sander just used it today in a vice , after i seen this video i am making one tomorrow i got pleanty of scrap thick ply wood great idea thanks
Hi Julian, No but it does sound like the Turkish for war. The swan came about after watching a pair fight in Tottenham, London. It's a long story and I might have to make a video about it.
Got abler sander at a yard sale and used in laying on the floor but now u can build a stand for it and use it correctly!! Thank you very much for the innovative build and great videography!
That's extremely clever. Great job! -Dave
Good idea and well executed, the only downside is probably the high noise level of any belt sander.
I like it - gonna build one of these for my belt sander.
Gosh dam... my man was all in. Nice job.
excellent work, wonderfull.
Very nice.
Thanks.

a good old Stanley knife do they have them in america
So, maybe it's just me but I never saw how you actually attached the sander to the build.
Clear!
It's pretty good! But it's too loud for me. Actually I hate working with belt-sanders because they're maybe the loudest machines in the world.
eine gute sache
Men that is awesome tanks for share your inteligence
excellent work.....congratulations
I've just started woodworking in my 40s and feel like I'll be spending a few hours watching these videos! Good on you mate!
Ha!! Same here!! Watching tons of vids just to make the tools that I think I will need lol!!
There are so many good ones! Look up Stumpy Nubs.
I like how yours fits in to an actual stand that provides clearance and ventilation underneath. Also, the addition of the two bolts to keep the sander centred.
Great video. It's easy to spend $$$ on disc/belt sander--but this looks like more fun!
Nice table saw sled, too. Any plans???
Great video. I've seen a couple of these, but yours was the first with the built in sliding mitre. Ingenious! I never would have thought of that.

Thats amazing, it is perfect.
But what did you clue on the wood? The black things?
Very nice project, useful and well crafted. THANK YOU for sharing this.

Meta construction. Using the tool to make the tool. Great!
I like that term - meta construction.

That's cool!
i have the same sander going to do one like yours.
Thanks for sharing.
8:53 Somebody wakes up with a hangover bangs his head and farts from the pain afterwards
=))) Truly hilarious!
Hahahaha
Brilliant! The 200 thumbs up (I am the 200th, by the way) and 0 down says it all! I am definitely building one myself.
very nicely made and very inventive, Just out of interest can you get Belt sanders with diamond grit shaping stone etc. for that kind of sander?
You Tube is a wonderfully tool in it's owen for wood worker's the lad's do some AWSOME jigs for us .The belt sander well that will be done over the weekend thanks to you Tube and the wood workers .

Very nice! But how about to adjust the height of the table? This is the question of uniform wear on the belt.
Cool project. Now is someone could devise a way to make one of the oscillate. Or better yet devise an effective dust collection system other then the bag.

Nice, I like how compact it is.
This is a cool project and it was well done. I would still use a low cost belt/disc model. The sideways orientation makes it harder to use the full belt and I'm personally not too worried about my fingernails :)
All that effort a tilt bed would have been awesome.
LO MEJOR PARA LIMPIAR LA LIJA ES UN TROZO DE METACRILATO Y LA SINTA FUNCIONANDO VA PERFECTO QUEDA COMO NUEVA
Genius !
Thanks for a very informative video
Nice build. But.... NO! NO! NO! NO! DON'T use a metal file for wood, use a wood rasp!
I noticed your table saw sled had a bolt all along at the back with a big wing nut - does this position the stop incrementally? Any videos on this?
Just curious as to why you rub down the ply with turps is it ? Doe's it make a difference to the adhering process when sticking neoprene/rubber to wood ?
If you make it height adjustable, so you can utilize the belt better, it would be perfect!
Nice job! Although I'm a lil bit conserned about two things: small metal slider grinding on wood and why you adjusted machine with sanding strip on?
Your work is always so precise and beautiful. Add I love the cutting montages in your videos too!
Very nice .. great job
oreooos ..etsi panta meraklhs o Ellinas!
ive got one of these sander just used it today in a vice , after i seen this video i am making one tomorrow i got pleanty of scrap thick ply wood great idea thanks
Just what I wanted to see. But I shall continue the table around the roller for sanding concaves.
Just finished mine. It works a treat. Thanks for the inspiring video.much better than a disc sander.
Best belt sander jig so far! (and trust me, I've searched on youtube plenty!)
nice work mate, i will be making one of these, thanks
Me gusta.

20013 wow, this comes from the future!!!
Lol
Birch multiplex, I recognise that from miles away:)
Sound usually helps a lot in tutorials, or is badly needed, but this one easily gets away with it because it's so well done, and what a great design!
Nice job.
hmm.. nice one :) u can use for hand plainer same system?
Jesus. That took a lot of work.
love the saw. I remember you chuckling during the build at how it worked the way you wanted it to.
I can't believe that this is the second video of yours that I have completely watched Harpo...or son of Harpo. You don't talk a lot do you?
Tell me about your logo. Does Savvas mean swan?
Hi Julian, No but it does sound like the Turkish for war. The swan came about after watching a pair fight in Tottenham, London. It's a long story and I might have to make a video about it.
how did you make your sled
Why do people give thumbs down ? I give you thumbs up.
very well done!
SUPER SIMPLES...THANK YOU
A very handy bit of kit and I like how easy it is to fit the sander, difficult to use attachments always end up being left aside.
i could be wrong, but that sounds like my ozito table saw
Got abler sander at a yard sale and used in laying on the floor but now u can build a stand for it and use it correctly!! Thank you very much for the innovative build and great videography!
Mini Belt sander ,making two tools from one .Great job
Great for the price

That's great. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Nice job.
That's a great idea, gonna try to make me one...Nice work sir.
great idea!
Bravo!!!
I like the small footprint of your design. One thing I am unclear is how the sander is secured on your stand. Thanks
Push fit.
great idea...
Why is that you guys always use those cheap tool brands? :-)
regards Jacob

Awsome
The T Slot creation was genius. Well Done.
