    "Thanks for watching"...
    Man, thanks for letting us watch!
    That was such a pleasure to bear witness to.
    Amazing attention to detail and so professionally finished.
    I'm going to give it a whirl tomorrow using some scrap MDF, with my blunt, rusty, tenon saw, my square which isn't quite square, and sat on my kitchen floor tiles with no vice or clamps. Wish me luck :)

    Nice. Functional and elegant design. I'll just make the fence for vertical operation in the other end. Think it's safer when the band is running downwards. Have to figure out how to operate the switch, though.
    Will definitely build this.👍

    This has so many features that are incredible. I also love the idea that the sander can easily be removed and used at it was designed as well. I may have to watch this several times if I decide to do this with my Craftsman Pro :)

    definitely the best design I've seen on this concept. 3 in 1....or 4 in one because you still are able to use the belt sander as it was originally intended.

    Very nice video with very good ideas! a little tip that could help you and make your sandblaster more efficient and safer: change the last end support; the sanding belt must always go down when sanding.

    Hi Eric! 4 years since you publish this video and it's still has the best ideas for sandbelt jig!
    Really good ideas in the video. I will apply them for my green PBS75 E.
    Tell me something, in order to make the sun belt with the cord down, is it enough that I just make the plan "mirror -like", or there are some technical issues (the machine construction?), that I have to take into consideration?
    Thanks for your comments.

    • @HODYODesign
      @HODYODesign  Год назад

      Thx! With the cord down, I assume that by cord down, you mean using the jig in vertical position. If so, simply extend the length of the jig so that the cord doesn't go in the way, if it makes sense.

      Similar I'd say, but his jig requires to attach the belt sander for good, which prevents him from using his tool on the go! Anyway, his video is mentioned in the video description, as well as a few others, so that viewers get plenty of inspiration to build a stand of their own.

    Good job and inspiring but:
    Why do not you use the threaded holes in the base of the tool to fix it to the wood?
    I think it would be easier

    • @HODYODesign
      @HODYODesign  7 лет назад +3

      TY! I use my belt sander without the jig quite often, so I wanted to be able to release it from the jig in a couple seconds. that's the main reason why I built it this way.

      An oscillating spindle sander.

  • @theautodriver4241
    @theautodriver4241 4 года назад

    Is it possible that your video is somehow backwards? When you have the sander upright with the cord coming out of the top, that should mean your belt is moving upwards toward the electrical cord from the side where we can see it. That is how all of them operate. But in your video it looks as if the belt is moving away from the cord, in the opposite direction. Am I perceiving that correctly?

    • @HODYODesign
      @HODYODesign  4 года назад +1

      Actually, the belt moves upward, meaning I should have built this jig with the belt sander upside down (and the cord coming from the bottom)! I As a result, I only use this jig in the 1st and 2nd positions.

    Hey Eric. First of all thank you for sharing ths great idea. :-) But are you still happy with the green Bosch sander? I'm a little suspicious if it's long lasting or not when using it often (besides the one in blue). So what's you're expirience after all? Greetings from Vienna

    • @HODYODesign
      @HODYODesign  4 года назад +2

      Hi Stefan, for the price, it's a good little belt sander. The belt inside broke once, but it was my mistake. Other than that, no problem. I use it often, but not intensively. Should I need to use a belt sander on a daily basis, I'd go for a Makita 9403, much more powerful, but also 2.5x more expensive!

    Nice video but too fast and with no guidance for any amateur DIYer who doesn’t have the know how... duh!

    • @HODYODesign
      @HODYODesign  5 лет назад +2

      This is not "an how" to video and it is for inspiration only. I'm not a pro and if I can do what I do, I feel that any motivated DIYer should be able to do the same, or even better.
      I build stuff on the go when I need something and I make mistakes, that's how I make progress! And that's why you'll probably never see any detailed how to videos here or any available plan of what I did on this channel. There are plenty of them elsewhere on RUclips and on the web anyway. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though...
